That night after Jimin had woken up from his small nap, he noticed Yoongi wasn't in the bedroom anymore, slowly sitting up with a yawn.
He carefully stood up and made his way for the door but as soon as his hand touched the doorknob, somebody else opened. Jimin looked up and met eyes with Yoongi.
"Oh, you're awake now." Yoongi chuckled. "Y-Yeah." Jimin nodded. "Well, my mom made dinner and it's ready now if you're hungry." He informed.
"Okay, I'll be down in a sec." Jimin answered, heading back inside the room to grab his medication from his luggage.
He ventured down the stairs and into the dining room where Yoongi was seated, their parents joining before they started eating. Yoongi found it funny how parents in general just easily became friends with each other.
Jimin downed the two pills he was required to take before munching on a small bite of food. "What should we do tomorrow?" Jimin spoke to Yoongi since their parents were too engaged in conversation to acknowledge their sons.
"My mom says we're all going hiking as a big group on a volcano in the morning but we have to be back down by noon because it's supposed to rain for a couple of hours. Then we're going out to eat somewhere for lunch." Yoongi informed.
"I'm pretty sure they're giving the rest of the day for us two to hang out as well." He added. "Sounds fun." Jimin murmured, slowly chewing his food. "You okay?" Yoongi asked.
"Yeah, just...tired." The boy answered. "Seriously, what's wrong? You seem upset all of a sudden." Yoongi lowered his voice so their parents wouldn't head.
"I'll talk to you about it when we go back upstairs, okay?" Jimin responded. "Okay." Yoongi nodded, not bombarding him about it anymore and changing the topic.
He wasn't too talkative the entire time like he always was, Yoongi leading the small conversation anyways until Jimin stated he was full and left back upstairs.
"Is he okay?" Mrs. Park asked. "I dunno." Yoongi shrugged. He quickly finished his food before heading back upstairs to their bedroom. He opened the door and closed it behind him, Jimin sitting on the bed with tears trickling down his face.
"Hey, hey what's wrong?" Yoongi paced over to the bed and sat beside him. "I-It's nothing, really." Jimin uttered. "Jimin, you're crying. Obviously something's wrong?" Yoongi concerned.
"I'm j-just scared, Yoongi." He hiccuped. "I know I still have at least a year, but I could still have a close call like what happened back on the ship." Jimin murmured.
"Jimin, it's going to be okay. Nothing else bad is gonna happen to you-" "Stop telling me that, you don't know that!" Jimin cried, struggling to get in a breath.
"Jimin, breathe." Yoongi, without hesitation, wrapped his arms around the smaller's torso to hug him. Jimin hugged back, his body shaking as he continued to cry.
"Shhh, just breathe." Yoongi whispered, listening to Jimin take little deep breaths. "I don't want you to be scared. I know it's hard to not to, but I'm here for you." Yoongi spoke softly.
"I'm never even going to see you again after this trip." Jimin murmured. Yoongi just kept quiet, rubbing small circles on Jimin's back. "I know, but let's just enjoy our time together and not worry about that anymore." Yoongi suggested.
Jimin leaned away from the hug, sniffling softly as Yoongi peered into his eyes. Nervously, he reached a hand up and carefully wiped a stray tear away from Jimin's face with his thumb.
Jimin was a little taken aback by the small gesture, but it felt nice to receive that sort of affection. Especially from Yoongi, whom he'd started to grow fond of the past few days.
He was pretty shy and gentle mannered, and that's what Jimin liked most about him. It was quite comforting to be close with someone like Yoongi.
"Do you just want to go to bed now? We're gonna be out all day tomorrow." Yoongi changed the topic, Jimin happy he did so. "Yeah, I'm kinda sleepy still." Jimin nodded. "Does your illness drain your energy a lot?" Yoongi asked.
"Yeah." Jimin nodded. "You always seem so jumpy and energized though, I can't really tell." Yoongi laughed as he stood up to go grab his pajamas. "It's all placebo, Yoongi. The more I pretend I'm not exhausted, I start to feel like I'm actually not." Jimin explained.
"That's cool and sad at the same time." Yoongi said. "Like I said before, I'm used to it by now. Don't worry about it." Jimin murmured.
They both changed into their pajamas, saying goodnight to their parents before heading back upstairs into their bedroom. Yoongi switched on the tv, connecting his phone so he could watch his show.
The two laid on opposite sides of the beds, Jimin on the end closer to the door and Yoongi against the headboard. "If I kick you in the face while I'm asleep, I'm sorry." Yoongi warned.
"Yoongi, I'll wake you up and fight you. Don't do that." Jimin threatened, laughing hysterically at Yoongi's fearful expression. "Y-You wouldn't." Yoongi shook his head. "You don't think I can fight?" Jimin rose a brow.
"I never said you couldn't." Yoongi shook his head. "You just..wouldn't h-hurt me. You're too nice for that." Yoongi averted his gaze away from Jimin, feeling his face start to heat up.
Jimin giggled softly, hugging his little stuffed animal close to body. "You're right. I wouldn't ever want to hurt you." Jimin mumbled. They both looked into each other's eyes for a second, Jimin breaking the eye contact to stare at his lap.
The tension growing between them was almost getting painfully obvious.
Jimin pulled the comforter over his body, his leg accidentally brushing up against Yoongi's. The older shuddered a bit at the touch, placing a hand on his cheek in hopes of cooling it down.
He switched off the lamp, resting his back against the headboard as he watched his show, Jimin closing his eyes to go to sleep.
"Hey, Yoongi?" Jimin whispered after a couple of minutes of quietness. "Hmm?" Yoongi hummed. "Have you ever dated a girl before?" Jimin asked randomly.
"W-What makes you think I'm straight?" Yoongi responded, Jimin's heart suddenly pounding against his chest at the statement. "Oh..." Was all he managed to utter.
Yoongi chuckled softly. "I dated a guy for a couple of months during the school year, but we decided it was best they we just stay friends." Yoongi mumbled.
"Aw, that's sad." Jimin said. "Not really, I mean, it was really awkward half the time because we're best friends and it just felt really weird to be dating each other. Our feelings were mutual for maybe a week but the other few months were just...weird." Yoongi explained.
"Ah, well that makes more sense." Jimin laughed softly.
"You ever date any guys?" Yoongi asked. "How do you know I like boys?" Jimin asked. "Jimin..." Yoongi trailed, laughing quietly. "Wow, is it that obvious?" He giggled.
"No, I didn't. Where I lived, I'm pretty sure I was the only gay person in that town and I stayed in the closet up until a little bit before we moved. My 'friends' started suspecting because I'd never had a girlfriend and they all had." Jimin started.
"It was really humiliating actually. They started showing their true colors after they found out and I finally learned that they were never really good friends in the first place." He concluded.
"So, you mean to tell me they actually dropped you because they were homophobic and not because of your illness?" Yoongi asked. "My illness was half of it." Jimin sighed.
"That's so messed up." Yoongi breathed out. "That's why I'm happy I met you." The smaller chirped. "I don't think you'd ever treat me like that." Jimin said.
"No, I'd never." Yoongi shook his head. Jimin sighed quietly, closing his eyes again. Yoongi glanced over at him and smiled a little to himself. "Goodnight, Jimin." He whispered softly.
"G'night." The boy murmured adorably. He was off to sleep within minutes, Yoongi deciding he'd just turn off the tv and head to sleep too.
He laid there for a while, too lost in his thought to go to sleep just yet. All he could do was think about Jimin, and wanting so badly just for them to be in a relationship, despite the fact that he'd eventually lose him.
He didn't care because he knew it'd be worth every least second with Jimin.
Yoongi felt Jimin shifting a little beside him, the boy waking up a little. Pretty much half asleep, Jimin switched sides so that he was now facing Yoongi, moving closer to him.
It took Yoongi by surprise, but he kept his cool, Jimin resting his head against Yoongi chest and sliding a leg in between Yoongi's. He felt his heart beating rapidly, knowing Jimin could probably feel it too but he couldn't control it.
Yoongi wrapped his arms around the boy gently, carefully brushing his fingers through his pretty blond hair.
He never thought they'd be cuddling anytime soon but here two were, entangled in each other's embrace, Yoongi never wanting to let him go.
