alright, guys, serious talk time.

this fandom is fucking selective as hell. i make, at least in my opinion, pretty decent anons that a lot of people seem to like. i choose popular characters or well-fleshed-out ocs, and they gain followers quickly, and then they keep those followers.

but as soon as i put up a starter call, it's like everybody runs and hides. i KNOW people see it. all of my accounts have upwards of 100 followers— most even have 150/200+, the majority of which i've followed back (eliminating the "but you said don't interact if you're not following me" excuse)— so people are definitely seeing them. so why aren't people replying to them and asking for a starter?

i do my best not to be annoying with it. i don't put them up constantly unless i'm genuinely understimulated and absolutely bored out of my gourd— and even then, it's NEVER more than one call every four hours. but still, they're ignored. i know they get announced because i follow all my accounts on every other one i have, and i get the notifications there.

i'm a very literate roleplayer and a good writer. i know that. i think most other people know that— it's not hard to take a look at my books, or scroll down my message board to find older roleplays. i know it's not a problem with my writing.

not to throw a pity party— genuinely, is it me? is it something i'm doing as admin of these accounts? am i annoying or something? have i made some sort of mistake? is my moral compass skewed? are my portrayals inaccurate? why am i being ignored? please, if it's something i'm doing or have done, tell me so i can fix it. i want to know how to get people to interact with my accounts.

and i see this same thing happening to other people all the time!! it needs to fucking stop bc i'm tired as hell of it and so is everybody else. i understand being selective— trust me, i'm pretty selective myself! i don't roleplay with illiterate roleplayers who respond to everything with "s/he smiled" and can't punctuate sentences right to save their lives. and sometimes i don't have the energy to send out many starters. but that doesn't mean i intentionally ignore people. i do my best to include everybody, and i wish more people would do the same.
