"Y/N, it's that boy again."
You look up from the papers you were sorting and stare, dumbfounded, at your co-worker who was holding the phone at arms length.
"What? Again? Are you being serious?" You ask.
"Yup."
"This is the fourth time this week! Does that guy live on pizza? Does he breathe it or something!?" You cry out, burying your face in your hands.
As your co-worker laughs, you think about that boy. The one who had ordered pizza from the place that you work at four times in the same week. And since you were the only delivery girl available, you were the one that delivered to his house each time.
"Yes, deliveries are still available... yes, we'll get your order over as soon as possible... goodbye." You co-worker finishes talking to him and turns to you. "Okay Y/N, he's your last delivery for the day and then you're free. The pizza will be done in a few minutes. Finish up with that paperwork." He instructs you and then walks off toward the kitchens.
You sigh and lean back over the desk you were standing over, sorting out the paperwork. You find yourself wondering about that boy and about his weird pizza addiction.
Eventually, you get done with the paper work and you end up sitting around waiting for the pizza to be ready. You close your eyes, tired after a long day of deliveries. Your breathing slows as you start to drift off...
"Y/N!"
You jump up in your seat, your eyes flying open. Your co-working is leaning over you, pizza in hand.
"Delivery time." He announces and he shoves the pizza into your hands.
You groan and lift yourself off your chair, pizza in hand. You roll your eyes at your co-worker as he grins smugly.
"Off you go." He says as he lightly pushes you out the door.
"Yeah, yeah." You mutter. You walk over to the delivery car that's parked just outside the store and get inside, placing the pizza on the passenger seat.
It doesn't take you long to drive to his house, since you already knew the route by heart at this point. You park outside and walk up to his house, pizza at the ready. You carefully balance the pizza in one hand and use the another the knock the infamous door for the fourth time that week.
A split second after you knock, the door flies open at lightning speed. The boy stands there smiling sheepishly at you.
"Pizza delivery!" You announced brightly, silently muttering the word 'again', in your head.
"Ah yes. Thank you." His eyes don't leave yours as he takes the pizza from your hands.
There's a long silence while he just smiles at you. You avoid eye contact with him, until the silence gets too weird for you.
"Um, you do have to pay y'know." You point out.
He jumps a little at the sound of your voice. "Oh! Oh yeah, hold on a minute."
He turns and runs back inside his house. You wait just outside the door and peer inside the house. You spot him standing in front of a mirror, redoing his hair and checking his face.
Has he got a date or something? You wonder to yourself.
You stop peering inside and continue waiting outside. He eventually returns to the door, the smile still plastered on his face, without the pizza.
"Here you go!" He says, sounding incredibly lighthearted. He holds out the money and you take it. You count it out carefully and then pocket it.
"Thanks." You reply. You suddenly yawn, still tired from the long day, and you rub your eyes.
"You seem tired." The boy points out.
"Yeah, it's been a long day." You mutter. You force a smile and look up at him. "Thanks for ordering from our store and all that. Have a nice evening."
You turn around and start to walk away. You suddenly stop when you hear him calling out from behind you.
"Hey!"
You turn around. He was still standing in the doorway, a nervous look on his face.
"Is there something wrong?" You ask, wondering if you'd delivered the wrong pizza or something.
"I, uh, I was just wondering... what's your name?" He asks.
You scrunch your eyebrows together in confusion. "It's Y/N. Why?"
"I, uh, I was just wondering." He mumbles. He looks down for a second while a small smile creeps up onto your face. You take exactly one step back towards your car and his head snaps up. "My name's Jun. In case you were wondering."
"I was actually." You step a bit closer to him and he straightens himself up a little and smooths down his hair. "I was also wondering why you needed so much pizza in one week. You trying to impress someone? Are you going on several dates with different girls?"
He seems to become nervous under your mini interrogation. He pulls at the collar of his shirt and gulps loudly.
"Um, no, not really. It's nothing like that." He mumbles. You step even closer, so you're just below him as he stands in doorway above you.
"Then what is it? Just out of curiosity." You ask, crossing your arms.
"Uh... I just really like pizza?" He says. He cringes at himself while you just raise an eyebrow.
"Right. Okay. I guess I'll just go then." You turn and start striding off but he calls you back again.
"Wait!" You turn, a smile on your face. He chews at his bottom as if he was contemplating something. "Do you... do you want some pizza?" He gestures to the inside of his house. "You know, with me?"
You raise your eyebrows. "You? A complete stranger?"
"Well, I'm not a complete stranger. You know my name and I know yours. And we've seen each other a lot this week. Maybe it's finally time to become friends." He concludes confidently. You find yourself laughing and he sighs in relief.
"Okay, fine. But I'm only in it for the pizza. And if you turn out to be a serial killer, I will be very annoyed with you." You say as you walk back over to him.
"Noted. I'll try not to annoy you." He says. You notice that the excited grin has returned to his face as he leads you inside the house.
He closes the door behind you both while you stand awkwardly in the middle of his living room. The pizza is set on the coffee table, open, and the smell is wafting towards you. Your stomach gurgles and Jun notices immediately.
"Help yourself." He says brightly.
He sits down of the sofa and takes a piece of the pizza. You hesitantly sit down next to him and cautiously watch his every move. He shoves the pizza in his mouth and takes a massive bite. He chews it happily and, when he notices you watching you, he gives you the goofiest grin you've ever witnessed.
After that, you relax more and take a slice yourself. You take a bite and he grins with joy.
After you swallow your food, you decide to speak up. "So, you never did say why you ordered all that pizza."
His grin immediately fades. He finishes chewing and sheepishly scratches the back of his head. "Well... it's a long story."
"I've got a long time."
He sighs and looks down at his pizza slice. "I lied. It's not a long story." He looks back up at you and you lock eyes with each other. "I kept ordering the pizza because... I thought the delivery girl was cute. I kept meaning to ask her out but I chickened out every time."
He looks right at you the entire time he was speaking and you felt a blush appear on your cheeks. You cough and take a deep breath. "Well, the pizza invite makes more sense now." You mumble.
Jun smiles at you and a shy smile creeps onto his face. "I guess I'm not really good at asking people out. I get too nervous."
"You managed to get me to eat pizza with you, didn't you? You can't be that bad." You smile at him and he giggles, covering his face with his hand.
"I guess not." He replies, and you both grin at each other.
You spend and few hours at his house, watching movies and getting to know each other. With every word he says, you find yourself liking him more and more. The pizza disappears quickly and he talks eagerly to you about his interests, waving his arms around as he gestures, his eyes bright with the excitement of talking to the you.
Eventually, you notice the time and gasp. "It's getting late, I have to go." You say, standing up abruptly.
"Oh. Are you sure?" Jun asks, looking disappointed.
You nod and he stand up with you. He walks with you to the front door. He opens it for you and you walk outside.
"So, will I see you again?" Jun asks.
"Depends if you're craving pizza or not." You reply and he rolls his eyes.
"I mean... would you like to go out with me sometime? On a date? With me?" He says, his face shaking slightly with nerves.
You nod eagerly and he grins again. You scribble down your number on his arm with a pen that had been sitting in your company shirt. He smiles at it happily, lifting his arm up to examine it.
"Well... goodbye then." You say and you give him a little wave.
He hesitates slightly before swooping in a giving you a light kiss on your cheek. He pulls back and keeps his face close to yours.
"See you soon." He whispers.
He gives you one last smile and disappears back into his house. You stand outside for a second, holding your hand to your cheek, on the place where he kissed. You then get back into the car and drive home, smiling all the way.
