Sherlock p.o.v

I awoke next morning to an empty space next to me and couldn't help but think if the events of the past 24 hours was just a vivid dream. That was when I heard arguing coming from the kitchen and knew it actually happened.

I pulled on my clothes and exited the bedroom only to be greeted by a very excited Luna attaching herself to my legs. Smiling I scooped her into my arms and made my way to the kitchen to see what all the shouting was about.

"Whats going on here?" I asked the boys although I already knew the answer.

"Nothing" sheringford replied
"It was Sheringford" Nova said at the same time as they both tried to hide the mess they created behind there backs.

"Dont lie to me boys you know it doesn't work" placing Luna down on the floor I proceeded into the kitchen to see the failed experiment that the lads were doing examening it closely,
"You used to much acid, try a smaller dose next time but for now we better get this cleaned up before Mrs Hudson sees it and blames me".

We quickly cleaned up and got the kitchen in a reasonable state by the time Louise came home with Mary and John, Louise sniffed the air and gave me the 'what have you done this time' look.

"It wasnt me this time, ask the boys" John and Mary exchanged looks between the two of us wondering what we were going on about, honestly you would have thought John at least would have had an inkling.

Just then sheringford and Nova walked in and froze at the scowl on there mothers face "what did you do in the kitchen? the table top is worse now than it has ever been"

Nova piped up "it was partialy my fault i calculated the dosage of sulphuric acid wrong but sheringford didnt bother to correct me thinking it funny to just let it happen anyway".

"Sheringford when I asked you to supervise your brother I didnt mean just watch him but help him aswell honestly I dont know what im going to do with you two". Louise put her head in her hand momentarially letting go of her left crutch.

"Anyway tomorrow is the start of a new school term for you Nova maybe you should head up to your room and get everything ready, you to Luna and then we will take Sheringford to college together, registration is in 2 hours so were pushed for time" I said hurrying the two younger children to there rooms. I turn towards Sheringford "got everything you need?"

"Yes dad I packed last night and will be back for the Christmas holidays." Sheringford said clear excitement in his voice.

I place a hand on his shoulder and look him in the eye "look after yourself there and remember if you have any problems dont hesitate to call, anyway go and get your case and we will set out as soon as your brother and sister are ready".

He nodded and went up the stairs as I made my way over to Louise, she gave me a small smile and hugged me as i sat beside her. "Im worried Sherl, will he be ok at college, what with my brother running loose and he hasnt followed up on his threat yet." A tear slid down her face.

I held her face in my hands and wiped the tears from her eyes "dont worry he will be safe, Mycroft has upped security around the premises and his under cctv survelance so he will be just fine". I kiss her gently on the lips after she feels reassured and hold her tight.

The children entered the living room ready to go, I grab sheringfords suit case and we head out the door together.
