Different
Of course I have to write another short story of Scorch and Ripple....
I swear I'm obsessed with Scorch...

Scorch stared at the chicken corpse layed before him. He didn't know why he got it, or why he's in the Prey Center in the first place, he wasn't hungry...
He nudged the chicken with his talon, as if seeing if it was alive.
"Aren't you going to eat it?"
Scorch looked over at the corner of his eye seeing a familiar SeaWing.
Scorch sighed and pushed the chicken away, then laid down with his head on his talons.
"Isn't that just wasting your food?" Ripple tilts his head sideways looking at the chicken. Scorch looked back at it, then scoot it over to Ripple with his tail.
"Here, that way it won't go to waste."
Ripple looked at the chicken, then back at Scorch, surprised at his offering. "Um, thank you..."
There was an uncomforting and awkward (in Ripple's case) silence between the two. After Ripple are the chicken, he shifted his talons awkwardly. "Um, about yesterda-"
"Look. Just because you saw what's under the mask it doesn't mean we're 'friends'. I'm fine alone, and I'll keep it that way. I don't need any dragon in my life." Scorch sat up, hovering over the SeaWing, his wings unfolding slightly. "So stay. Out. Of. My. Way."
Ripple took a step back, then gave a small smile "Well your a little ray of sunshine aren't you."
Scorch's brows furrowed "What?" he took a step back as Ripple let out a small chuckle. "Your face, it's funny."
"Funny?" Scorch sat back down, confused. Usually dragons will get the message and walk away but no, not this one. He shook his head "tch, why aren't you leaving?" the question seemed more to him then to Ripple.
"Cause, I like to get to know you better. You might push dragons away and say your fine alone, but your not." Ripple began "Everything I've heard of you from other dragons made me think, maybe your different? Maybe there's a reason why you act the way you do? I might not know you well, but I think I might have an idea."
Curiously, Scorch asked "And what is that?"
"Your afraid."
Scorch flinched from him, but looked away.
"You don't want to lose anyone, those dragon that tries to get close to you, they want to help." Ripple said referring to Icefall and her friends. "And I want to help too. Some dragons are afraid to approach you but not them nor I. So please, let is help you." Ripple let out a talon, giving Scorch a reassuring smile.
Scorch eyed his talon, he looked at Ripple, seeing a little bit of his sister in him. "Your...different. And smart. I'll give you a chance."
Scorch hesitantly took Ripple's talon, then stood up. Ripple smiled brightly then dragged him away. "Where are we going?"
"I gotta earn your trust don't I?"
"What?"
"I'm going to teach you to swim!"
I'm regretting this already...
