I felt my blood run cold as he screamed at me.

His breathe smelled of cigars.

My eyes shut tight as I slowly took in a breathe.

He's never hit me. He's too scared to...

If he touches me then I'll go insane...

"Are you listening you Bitch!" He yelled. I kept my eyes closed as I felt him grab my arm. "I'm talking to you-"

He stopped talking because a sword had gone through his chest. He stared at me with wide eyes.

"Don't ever told me you worthless piece of shit," I hissed in his ear. I pulled the sword out and smiled at his body bleeding out.

"Sissy?" His soft voice called. I turned to see my baby brother staring at me with his big green eyes.

"Yes Bubba?" I asked setting the sword down.

"We're safe now? He won't hurt us again?" I walked over and hugged him close.

"No one will every hurt us again," I whisper. I carried him out of the house as it set on fire.

Our mom was high upstairs while our dad was drunk and yelling.

I heard my mother's screams as I carried my brother, my only real family, away from it.
