The Impossible (Second Half)
"Diana!" Shouted a voice as Diana's eyes snapped open. She screamed in surprise before falling off of the throne, and onto the floor. There in front of her was the man from the day before, who was now laughing as Diana began swearing at him. "That was rude," she stated after getting up and brushing herself off. The man only waved his hand dismissively to her as she glared at him. "Hey, what's with the dead rose in your hand?" He asked as Diana looked down to see, that she still was holding the rose from the night before. "That's none of your business," she replied before quickly laying the rose down onto the throne. "Well ready to try this again Diana?" Said the man as he drew his sword. "No," muttered Diana as the man looked somewhat confused. "No?" Diana nodded in reply. "Why?" Diana shrugged in return. "Because I don't wish to fight you I don't want to hurt or kill you," she replied as the man glared. "What? Your joking right?" He asked as Diana only gave him a blank stare. "Well then this is going to be easy for me," he said to himself. "Come on Diana your a demon I'm pretty sure killing and doing all that is bad is what you do," Diana whipped around, and the man could see the anger flickering in her eyes. He somewhat realized his mistake by the time it was too late. "Killing? Doing all that is bad?" Diana retorted completely monotone. Diana suddenly punched the man directly in the face, as he fell back onto the cold stone floor. "You realize that I am just a different species? I have different traditions and a different culture, but we are not just evil creatures of darkness like you all say," she ranted as the man listened quietly. "You think we don't have feelings, or emotions, or any of the sort? Well you're wrong," she said as her voice began to crack. The man could see the tears gathering in her eyes, and he felt a pang of guilt. "I wish I could escape, I wish I could escape from this demon that is myself," and Diana lost it every feeling she had ever had, she had kept bottled away since she was a child. She couldn't hold it all in anymore Diana curled up into a ball on the floor and wept. The man immediately felt horrible for what he had said. He then knelt beside Diana and put a hand on her shoulder. For the first time since they had met, he didn't see a horrible or terrifying monster that was a killer. Instead he saw a lonely, depressed, beautiful, young woman. Who had probably experienced horrific accounts of mistreatment from people. And who had probably seen things he couldn't ever possibly imagine, for a moment the God felt somewhat sorry for the Demon. "Do you have great power?" She whispered as the man was silent for a moment. "I suppose so," he started before Diana sat up and stared into his eyes. "Then make me an angel, make me pure- make me admirable," she begged. "You know I can't do that," he said quietly as Diana only nodded. "It was worth a try and at least now I know that there is no hope for me," she replied as the two sat in silence for a few moments. "Diana-" the man started before Diana cut him off. "No! Enough of this conversation, it was stupid of me to ask anyways!" She shouted before storming back over to the throne, and curling back up into it. Hugging the wilted rose close to her chest. She bit her lip as the tears were welling in her eyes. The man felt even worse than he had before, he didn't expect anything that was "so evil" to have so much emotion. "I'm sorry," he whispered as he received a glare from Diana. "Don't be," she snapped back before rolling over in the throne, so that her back would face the man. "Daniel," he said quietly as Diana sat up. "So that's your name," she stated as Daniel nodded in return. "Well then Daniel; you can do me a favor by getting out of my castle," she growled as Daniel shook his head. After several attempts of trying to get rid of Daniel, Diana sighed and gave up. Diana had became agitated though she glanced at her gloves before getting an idea, she wanted to see if he would truly be her friend. She slowly reached for each glove, and pulled them off. Revealing the black scales that were covering a large portion her arms. She slowly walked over and reached out to touch him as he jumped back. "I knew it you are still afraid of me," Daniel quickly shook his head again with wide eyes. "Save it you think if I touch you I'll infect you with my wickedness," she paused. "Or at least something stupid like that, you think I'll poison you with my touch too right?" Daniel was silent for a moment as he watched Diana shrink back sadly. She quickly put her gloves back on, and retreated back into the throne. "I've never been touched by another person in my life I've never received a hug, been given a handshake, nothing..." She whispered as Daniel quietly listened. "I've been exiled my whole life from the moment I was born," Daniel began to keep feeling worse and worse. "I won't hurt you if I touch you I swear it," she stated with sad eyes while looking at the gloves on her hands. "Take them off," replied Daniel as Diana looked quite shocked. She didn't hesitate to pull off the gloves though, and quickly ran over to him. Daniel gathered up his courage and gently took Diana's hand. He didn't mind that they were scaly after a few moments, mainly because Diana was grinning with excitement. Seeing her happy seemed to make him feel just as happy. Daniel smirked before curiously examining the scales on her hands and arms. Diana didn't mind no one had ever cared enough to look, most people would be too scared to. Sometimes they even ran, as Diana looked down her eyes grew wide. What she hadn't noticed was that while she had spaced out Daniel was quietly at work. She watched as the scales began to disappear entirely, and her claws became more like actual nails. "There now you can touch whatever you want," said Daniel proudly as Diana smiled. "Then I know what I'm going to do first," with that she bear hugged Daniel and wrapped her wings around the two of them. Daniel began to blush madly before hugging her back gently. "Has she always smelled this nice?" He thought before realizing what was happening. He had in fact fallen in love with a Demon...

It had been months later since that day, and ever since then the two spent a lot of time together. Sometimes Daniel would disguise Diana, so he could sneak her into the towns. Mainly because she was never allowed in them before. And they'd go about their days exploring, he'd introduce her to people, and mainly new things that she had never experienced before. Diana was thrilled by all of it, she didn't feel so alone anymore. Of course no one actually knew the truth about her, and sometimes she wanted people to know the real her. But she also knew it was likely that if they knew, they'd probably be terrified of her. That they probably would never speak to her again too. Sure the thought hurt her a little deep down, but the fact of the matter was that, she was better off without them knowing.
It was one afternoon when Daniel brought Diana to a small kingdom, and it was the afternoon where it all went wrong. The ruler of the kingdom had guards stationed all of over the kingdom, and he had also hired Daniel to kill Diana months ago. Of course Daniel lied to the King claiming to have killed, "the beast" that dwelled deep within the forest. The King's guards on the other hand were not as loyal or honest like they should've been either. Diana watched in horror as the guards raided homes and took valuables from each home. Stealing money off of peasants, who probably worked hard for every penny earned. And for every single penny that was stolen from them. Daniel squeezed Diana's hand as the guards approached them, they smirked and looked at his shiny armor and sword. "If you want to save yourself the trouble of being pounded, why don't you hand over that sword and suit of armor?" Said the leader as Daniel glared. "Why would I give you my belongings? You can't do this what you're doing, can have you removed from your duties." The guards were stunned by his reply as he took Diana's hand. "In fact we're going to inform the King right now," as they began to walk away the leader jumped in front of Daniel shoving him. "Well too bad your never going to make it to the King," the guards surrounded Diana and Daniel, before two grabbed Diana and held her back. As the others began beating Daniel over and over. Diana watched in horror and she panicked, she could either do nothing and watch Daniel possibly die. Or she could expose her secret and save Daniel, but suffer consequences of her own. Then suddenly they didn't matter to her, only Daniel mattered. With that she unfolded her wings, from under the cloak she had been wearing. She closed her eyes as the cloak dropped to the ground, before opening them revealing that they had became solid black. With that she broke free of the two guards, and within a few swift movements she had terminated every guard. What she hadn't realized was that all of the peasants were watching. And they would immediately give her up, to avoid being accused of having any ties to her. "Demon," cried a man. "It's the Devil's servant," shouted a woman. "She's come to claim our souls," screamed a little boy. As Diana covered her ears she began to shake. She screwed her eyes shut as the peasants grabbed her and Daniel, and dragged them to their ruler's castle. "I'm sorry Daniel," she whispered while feeling ashamed of what she had done. "It's okay," he replied softly as Diana glanced at him. "I just didn't want to lose you Daniel because I...I t-think you're-" stammered Diana as Daniel figured out what she was trying to say. For the rest of the way they were silent, before they were thrown onto the floor, before the "mighty" King in his throne room. "So the Demon still lives," stated the King as Diana cringed at the word. "I'm sorry for killing your guards," Diana whispered. She was genuinely sorry for what she did, Daniel could see it in her eyes. But the King did not seem so convinced. "Do not lie to me Demon," he retorted before glaring at Diana. "I have a name you know," she whispered once more as the King sat up curiously. "Really? Well do tell me your name then Demon," he replied quickly. "My name is Diana your majesty," she said while staring down at the floor. "And I just wanted to be admired by others...I'm lonely," she cried as she buried her head into her knees. "You my dear are a Demon and you know what means right?" Diana looked up at sniffled. "That you are not allowed to live!" Screamed the King as he suddenly pulled out a sword, and swung it. "No!" Daniel screamed before jumping up, and pushing Diana out of the way. The King froze with the sword inches from Daniel's face. "You love her," he exclaimed. Daniel only stared at the King. "You are in love with the Demon you were supposed to kill," he continued angrily. "No, I am not in love with a Demon," Replied Daniel as Diana felt her heart begin to break. "I'm in love with Diana," he continued as Diana looked up in shock. Diana quickly crawled over, and suddenly kissed Daniel. And at that moment the system had been broken. Hero and Villain- fallen in love. The roles that the world supposedly "needed", were nothing but lies. The two kissed for sometime and then eventually pulled away, they both stood up. Each were smiling and took each other's hand. Before disappearing before the King's eyes...
