Should We Even Ask?
"ALICE! ALICE, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Roy shouted, steam spurting from his ears, anger heavily radiating off of him.
Tehehehehe. Alice's giggles bounced off the walls and echoed in his ears.
"I WON'T SPARE YOU! REVEAL YOURSELF AND I MIGHT CONSIDER GIVING YOU A PAINLESS DEATH!"
You see, Alice and Roy are twins. They spread mayhem wherever they went; they were maniacle. You were lucky if you didn't cross their path of destuction. They were only 12 years old and had managed to make the whole town fear their pranks, atleast, all the adults, the kids were immune to their chaos.
They both had ebony hair, gifted with sapphire orb eyes, blessed with almost flawless fair skin and perfect cheekbones. If you didn't know about their 'extra curriculum' activities, you would've dubbed them cute. And they would have despised that nickname. You'd be put at the top of their hit list.
The twins had developed a strong bond between them during their 12 years of life. Their bond was so strong, occasionally, they would communicate through their eyes. Some thought they were having a telekinetic conversation.
So, you're probably wondering, what could've peeved Roy so much that he had to resort to the extent of giving his sister a death threat? Well, Roy was taking was taking a nap on the couch, their parents were out shopping (completely disregarding the events that happened last time the twins were left alone) and Alice was writing things in her notebook, probably future prank ideas. She dug her hand into her pencil case when she came across a sharpie. A pink sharpie. An evil look painted her face, her mouth look like the demonic child of a smirk and a grin. She didn't care that it was the most cliche thing in history, it was still hilarious.
With her left hand, she popped her sharpie open and skilfully drew a curly moustache. She was completely flabbergasted when he didn't wake up when she started to snicker, she presumed luck was just on her side for once. When she was done, she grabbed her pencil case and notebook, not wanting to be around for the aftermath of her antics unfold.
You probably know what happened next so I won't bore you with a tedious explanation.
Roy's footsteps could be heard from every room of the house, there was no escaping the noise, Alice had excepted that fact and embraced it.
With a huff, Roy sat at the foot of the stairs. He absentmindly placed his hand on his chin and pondered over all the possible hiding spots she could be in. He heaved a sigh when he came to a dead end with his thoughts. He checked every place he knew of.
Then, suddenly, he was struck with an epiphany. He checked everywhere but his room. He face palmed and ran up the stairs, not caring when he missed a few steps.
He slammed his bedroom door open, Alice inwardly cringed at the dent in the wall but quickly shrugged it off when she remembered the damage the troublesome duo had done in the past.
"I was starting to worry," she voiced sarcastically, " you took so long to find me. I was beginning to question how smart you really were." She finished with her signature smirk.
He ignored her comments, "how do I get rid of of it?" He pointed to the pen moustache dawned above his upper lip as he said 'it'.
Her response was complete and utter silence. "You don't know how! How can you not know?!" To say Roy was furious was an understatement.
Her dumbfounded expression was replaced with her usual calm and cool face "Relax bro. I'm sure either mum or dad probably know how to get it off," she heard a car pull up in their drive way, "look, that's probably them now! Race you down stairs!" She rushed to the railing of the stair and slid down, escaping further conversation with her brother.
"HEY," he sprinted down the stairs after her.
So when Charlene and Greg Drake walked into their house, they certainly weren't expecting see the twins wresting on the floor, and they definitely weren't expecting to see a moustache on the younger twin's face.
Both parents looked at eachother then mouthed something along the lines of What The Hell. They both crept passed the squabbling twins-not wanting to get involved in their dispute- and into the kitchen.
"Should we even ask?"
