Ok this is just a thing I wrote a while back and it's still really prevalent in fanfic so I thought I'd just post it. I don't mean any offense to authors, of course.

Alright, so I know a lot of you write on your phones, which can make it almost impossible to indent your paragraphs.

However, adding spacing between your paragraphs adds depth, drama and succinctness to your Fan-Fiction.

Here are some important places where it is essential to create a new paragraph.

I. Dialogue: a new paragraph should start whenever you start a quote, in other words, " " , these things.

Example: JJ opened the door and screamed. "Simon, what are you doing?!" He yelled to the Nutella-Covered man who was occupying his bed.

Correction:
JJ opened the door and screamed.

"Simon, what are you doing?!" He yelled to the Nutella-Covered man who was occupying his bed.

The only situation in which this doesn't apply is if the second quote is a continuation of the first quote, interrupted by an action.

Example: JJ opened the door and screamed.

"Simon, what are you doing," He yelled to the Nutella-Covered man who was occupying his bed. "I didn't expect you until tomorrow..."
