Carter's POV

"Gage stop I have to study." I pushed him away as he tried to kiss my neck again.

"You've been studying for the past hour. Take a break princess." His arms once again came around to wrap around me.

We were at the school library studying, well I was trying to study while Gage kept distracting me. We have been studying for well over an hour now so I didn't blame Gage for wanting to take a break. For the last week that is all that we have been doing.

Finals were here which just resulted in all of us being stressed out. Christmas was right around the corner was basically the only thing getting us through this week of hell. Finals week was the worst and I have definitely learned this over the last couple of days.

It has been two weeks since Gage and I made up and confessed our feelings to one another. It has been a great two weeks if you minus this whole week of studying and tests. I wanted nothing more than to just spend time with him but by the end of the day both of us were too exhausted to do much other than get dinner and then pass out.

I haven't seen much of anyone lately. Macey was just as busy as I am with studying and trying to make time for Luke we barely see each other. Same went with Ethan, Amy, and Dylan. All of us were just praying we made it through the rest of the week.

Thankfully it was Wednesday which meant one more day. Because all of didn't have any classes on Friday we were planning on celebrating.

"Just one more second." I muttered as I read the last paragraph in my History book and took notes. Tomorrow I had a history and my art final was due. My art teacher had extended the due date so we all had an extra two days to finish it. Today I had Psychology and Photography, and lets just say my Psy test was enough to fry my brain. I was so ready to be done with this week and then be off until January.

"Okay done." I dropped my pen and slumped down in my chair. I closed my eyes for a second. I felt a soft kiss press to my forehead making me smile. I opened my eyes to look at Gage.

"Don't stress too much about it you will do fine." Gage said smiling softly at me.

"Coming from the guy who is ridiculously smart and has already taken the history test." I muttered.

"Babe you don't have to compare yourself to me." He placed a hand on his chest and shook his head. "It is hard living up to such greatness." I punched his arm roughly.

"Smart ass."

"You need a break. Come on." Gage stood up, gathered his things, and held out his hand for me to take. I looked didn't even hesitate to grab his hand. Gathering my own things with my other hand I stood up and let Gage pull me out of the library.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"That is a surprise." He grinned over at me as he tugged out in the direction of the parking lot. I looked over at him as we walked. Things have been going great for us lately. While we haven't done too much with each other this week what we did see of each other was great. Even if it is to get a coffee before tests and getting a quick bite to eat. Gage was so thoughtful that this morning he showed up outside my first classroom with a coffee and a muffin.

I think some of his actions surprised Gage himself, like he didn't know he could be so sweet and romantic. If anything this week has done is made me love him even more. Crazy I know.

Things have just been going very well for us and I was glad. I hated being away from him and having him mad at me, just didn't feel right. Because this is my first love I have a feeling that if anything ever happened to us I don't know if I would recover. I didn't even want to think of that.

We were now in Gage's Jeep and I couldn't help but ask again where we were going. It was nearing 4 o'clock in the afternoon so I wasn't sure we what we were doing.

"Princess, patience." He chimed at me almost like I was a little kid. I rolled my eyes at him and laid my head back in the seat. I had a small smile on my face as we drove to wherever Gage was taking me.

"You aren't going to kill me are you? This would be the perfect time to do so no one knows where we are." I asked turning my head towards him.

"If I wanted you dead you would be dead by now." Gage scoffed. "You need to stop watching those crime shows."

"Hey when we get taken or something I will be the one making it out alive not you." In reality it would be Gage who would get free not me. I'd be the unlucky one and die instantly because I said something.

He didn't say anything as he kept driving before he pulled into a familiar parking lot and parked.

"Ice Cream?" I asked sitting right up my grin widening.

"Not just any ice cream, it is the kind that smashes whatever kind of candy you want inside the ice cream." At his words I felt my mouth water.

"What are we waiting for?" I jumped out of the car without waiting for his response. I rounded the front just as Gage did, I grabbed his hand and tugged him inside the cute looking ice cream shop.

Even though it was freezing outside I didn't care. Thankfully though inside the shop was warm, kind of weird considering it is an ice cream place. I did not mind at all though.

The moment we stepped through the doors I went straight for the counter, my eyes taking in all the toppings and ice cream flavors you could get. I saw in the corner was what looked like a flat top stove but was actually a really cold flat top where they combined the ice cream. Just seeing all the things you could get made my mouth water.

"You look like a little kid on christmas." Gage commented coming to my side.

"Well duh! Look at all the options." My eyes went from one flavor to the next.

"Hello, how may I help you two?" A girl asked from behind the counter. She looked to be about our age or maybe younger.

"I would like two scoops in a cup, vanilla ice cream with Reece's peanut butter cups." Gage rattled off instantly. We watched the girl chop up the Reece's and mix it with the ice cream. Gage even added chocolate syrup at the end. When it was my turn I couldn't decided.

"I will have two scoops in a cup as well with vanilla ice cream and cookie dough and sprinkles." Why was choosing ice cream flavors so hard!?

I waited almost impatiently as the girl made mine and we paid for it. I held myself back from digging into it until we took a seat at a table near the front window. The moment we sat down I dug in. Practically moaning I completely forgot Gage was sitting there staring at me.

"Well now I know what sounds you make in bed." Gage commented making me stop my spoon in the air. I chocked as I stared at him. At my reaction Gage let out a loud laugh.

"You are so mean." I muttered my cheeks hot. I stuck my spoon in my mouth angrily while Gage just sat there laughing. "I hate you."

"I didn't say I didn't like the noises princess." He winked at me which just made my face even redder. If that came from anyone another than Gage it would have been very sleazy but he was able to pull it off. He could literally say anything and girls would still fall at his feet.

"Shut up."

"I love that you still get embarrassed in front of me." He grinned at me while taking a bit of his own ice cream.

"I don't." I lied.

"Than why are your cheeks red?"

"Because I'm...sunburnt."

"Sunburnt?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "It is cloudy outside."

"So? You can still get sunburnt with the clouds in the sky." I stuck my chin out.

"Okay whatever you say." Gage grinned at me with a knowing grin. In response I moved my spoon to his ice cream and took a big chunk of it. "Hey! You can't do that."

"We are together now Gage I can have whatever you have." I smirked at him as I stuck the spoon in my mouth. "What is yours is mine, that is the rule."

"Since when has that been the rule?"

"Since forever."

"You are totally making that up."

"Am not. Haven't you ever heard the saying 'what is mine is yours'?"

"If that is the rule than." He grinned at me before reaching over and grabbing my entire cup of ice cream.

"Hey!" I lunged across the table to grab it from him but he held it up above his head where I couldn't reach. "Damn you and your tallness." I hissed.

"You said what is mine is yours." He smirked at me while taking a huge chunk of my ice cream.

"That doesn't mean take my entire thing jerk." I narrowed my eyes at him. While he ate my ice cream I grabbed his and started eating off of his. After a minute of an intense stare down we grinned at one another.

We quietly ate our ice creams, content just being near each other. We switched ice creams every once in a while until we were almost done with the cups. As we sat there I remembered I wanted to ask him about christmas.

"Hey Gage." I felt a little nervous asking him but I'm not sure why.

"Yeah?" Sensing my tone he set his cup down and looked at me. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah everything is fine! I was just wondering if you would like to go to this holiday party my dad throws at his company every year." He raised an eyebrow at that. "It isn't as boring as it sounds...okay it is but Luke and I are always required to go and I thought maybe you would like to come with me."

"As in your date?" He had a small teasing smile on his face.

"Yes as in be my date." I smiled at him hoping he would say yes. The past years I have always gone alone and I thought maybe this year Gage could come. It was always just Luke, Macey, Ethan and I. It would make this years party better with my boyfriend coming with me as my date.

"You don't have to go though if you don't want to. It can be pretty boring with tons of rich people gossiping about stupid things. But there is dancing and food and they give out these little gift thingies." I bit my lip as I waited for him to respond.

"You need to work on asking people out."

"Is that a yes?"

"Fine but only for the free food and gifts." I tried to fight off a grin but it didn't work.

                                                                         *********

Finals week finally ended an I couldn't be more happy. Now we had a few weeks of no work and with Christmas and New Years coming up I was more than happy to not do any homework and spend time with my family.

It was Saturday two days after my last final and I was getting ready to go out with everyone. We were going to celebrate Macey, Amy, and I's first semester of college being done and surviving. Our grades won't be posted for another day if not longer so for right now we were going to pretend that all of us did amazing and not worry about it.

For some stupid reason us girls decided to let the boys decide what we should do today. Why we decided to let them decide I have no idea. Luke used the whole 'we are a grade older than you guys so we know exactly how to let off some steam after finals'. I was just praying it wasn't going to a party and getting drunk. Macey and Amy could care less if it was but getting drunk was something I didn't enjoy. And having to be the one to take care of everyone later on is definitely something I did not want to do today.

"You ready Car?" Macey yelled from down the hallway.

"Just a minute!" I yelled back pulling on my boots. Because it was now the first week of December it was freaking cold. You couldn't step outside without freezing to death.

So for today I opted for a cream sweater that was thicker than it looked, along with a pair of black skinny jeans. On top of the sweater I put on a green jacket and a scarf to keep me warmer. I also decided on a pair of brown heels boots. I kept my brown hair down hoping it would keep me a tad bit warmer.

(I wish I could look as good wearing something like this)

Making sure I had everything I needed I left my room to meet Macey in the living room. Upon seeing her I noticed she was wearing something similar to me. Wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a cute sweater jacket on top. Along with that she was wearing blue skinny jeans and a pair of black heeled boots similar to mine.

(Macey's is the far left one!)

We grinned at each other seeing that we were dressed pretty similar.

"Ready?" I asked bringing my bag to my shoulder and holding my phone in my hand.

"Yeah. I just hope there is some warm coffee at the end of this or something. The boys better not drag us to do something stupid." Macey said as we left the apartment and headed downstairs.

"It is the boys of course they will." I pointed out. But I was with her as long as we had something warm to drink or to be in I would be fine.

As we came out from the stairway I noticed everyone was standing in the lobby waiting for us. My eyes immediately went to Gage who was looking around as if he was searching for someone and moving back and forth on his heels. I took that moment to look at him.

I couldn't believed this guy was all mine. Standing there in jeans and a jacket he looked so good, it was so simple yet he made it look hot. It should be illegal how hot he is.

Next to him was Dylan and Anna who were talking and smiling about something. Those two finally got together about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier for him. Having met her and had her hang out with us I found she was perfect for Dylan. The complete opposite of him which was good. She leveled him out.

Next to them was Ethan and Amy holding hands and talking with Luke. Luke was gesturing about something animatedly. Seeing Ethan and Amy together I didn't get that pang in my chest anymore. Instead I just smiled at the sight of them being a cute couple and brought my eyes back to my man. The only guy I cared about now.

"Hey guys." I said as we walked towards them. I went instantly to Gage while Macey went to Luke. I got on my toes to place a soft kiss to Gage's. I could tell they just got here because his lips were cold.

"Hey." I breathed out to him as I pulled back from the kiss.

"You look beautiful." He smiled at me.

"Thank you." I placed another kiss on his lips before moving to his side and taking his hand in mine. I laced my fingers through his.

"Everyone ready to go?" Luke asked as we all stood there. As I looked around I couldn't help but smile. All of us had someone now and I liked that we were able to do couple things. Before one of us would be the odd person out. I have been a third wheel for most of my life so it was nice to finally have someone.

With a chorus of 'yes' we headed out into the cold. The cold air hit my face making me clench onto Gage's hand and snuggled deeper into his side. I always hated the cold.

Thankfully we all walked fast to the parking lot not wanting to be out here longer than we had too. Because there were so many of us we had to split up into two cars. It went Me, Dylan, and Anna in Gage's car while Macey, Ethan, and Amy went in Luke's car.

The moment I got in Gage's Jeep I turned the heater on full blast and practically huddled in front of it. In the backseat Dylan and Anna sat so close to each other warm up. It was probably not the smartest idea going out today in this weather. We should have just stayed inside.

"Should I even bother to ask where we are going?" I asked Gage as he pulled out of the campus parking lot.

"Nope." Shaking my head I turned a little bit in my seat so I could talk to Anna.

On the car ride to wherever we were going all four of us talked. We mostly talked about what our finals consisted of and if we thought we passed. Both Anna and Dylan warned me about Mr. Cannon their Calculus teacher next semester.

It didn't take long until we reached a familiar building. I looked over at Gage with a raised eyebrow.

"Bowling? Again?" I asked.

"This is just the beginning. We have something planned but can't go to it until a bit later." My mind raced with what else we were going to do but I pushed it all aside as I got out of the car.

As we headed inside the bowling alley my hand sought out Gage's. It was like our hands were magnets. I was grinning like a fool as we all headed inside. I loved that our group now got along pretty well. Ethan and Luke seemed to have gotten over their little hate for Gage which I was thankful for.

The place was slightly busy but it only took us a few minutes to get our lane and shoes. Because of our large group we had to once again split up into two lanes right next to each other. None of us minded as we just got into the same groups we did when we got in cars.

Like last time we all had to have nicknames, according to Macey of course. This time though the boys choose which ones we would have. In their words 'we were not having those stupid ass disney names'. So instead we did Marvel and DC names.

The guys were-Captain America (Luke), Thor (Ethan), Batman (Gage) and Spiderman (Typical Dylan). For us girls we were-Wonder Woman (Macey), Cat Woman (Amy), Black Widow (Anna) and Harley Quinn (Me, although I didn't choose it). Not going to lie it was fun coming up with nicknames for all of us. We of course had a small debate on who fitted who.

Once we had that all figured out we started to play. I for one suck at bowling but being here with everyone I didn't care. Everyone kept messing around with each other. We would distract someone from bowling so they missed or bowled the ball in-between our legs. People around us kept looking and giving us glares at how loud we were being but none of us cared one bit.

We played three games. While we played we got food from the small little food shop the bowling place had. We all split fries, onion rings, and just junk food. This day was turning out a lot better than I thought at first. Not once did we think about exams or passing our classes. We were just having a fun day together as friends.

I know the boys are too 'manly' to say it but I know they enjoyed this too. All four guys talked and made fun of each other. It was nice seeing Luke and Ethan get along with Dylan and Gage. Two guys they hated just a few short months ago. I never once thought they would get along. I could almost even say they were friends. Not close, close friends but maybe acquaintances.

Even after our last game ended we stuck around and talked. It felt nice to just sit around and talk about random things. We basically had to catch up on what each other were doing since we have all been so busy with finals.

While everyone talked to one another I sat back and looked around at us. Everyone was smiling and laughing, enjoying themselves. This was honestly just what we needed. To do something to relax after such a stressful week. Something other than going to a party and getting drunk like most people will tonight.

"Hey are you okay?" Macey nudged my arm and sent me a concern look.

"I am great."

                                                                   ***********

It was now 4:00 pm and we were once again in the cars and heading to our next destination. I was sitting in the passenger seat of Gage's Jeep laughing at a story Dylan was telling us about him and Gage when they were younger.

I loved hearing about Gage when he was younger. He didn't talk too much about his childhood and I understood why. Reliving what happened to his mom and what he had to go through was probably not pleasant. I hated that he had to live with those memories. But hearing about what him and Dylan use to do I was thankful Gage had him. Without Dylan I don't think Gage would be here right now. I didn't even want to think about what he would be doing instead of being right next to me with a smile on his face.

The thing about Gage is he was a closed book. Sometimes you could catch a glimpse of what he was thinking and feeling but most of the time he was closed off. Even after knowing him for over 4 months I don't know exactly what he thinks about. I have learned to pick up on some signs that he does.

Even though he may not laugh at something the sides of his mouth would twitch like he his holding himself back. When he was angry his jaw would clench and his eyes would turn almost black in color. When he was happy his brown eyes looked almost golden and they seemed to twinkle a bit more.

Ever since we said 'I love you' I see the golden eyes more often now. Gage doesn't seem plagued with some invisible force blocking him from feeling anything. He seemed happier and was a lot more fun to be around. I could tell Dylan saw the change in him too. He even made a comment about it when Gage was busy talking to my brother.

I loved knowing that I have changed Gage, even just a little bit. It isn't my intention to change who is he, I love who he is. But if I can change him from being moody, rude, and mean to being happy, fun, relaxed than I will do anything I can to do so. I wasn't trying to change him into something he is not. I was not that kind of person and never will be. I love Gage the way he is and that isn't going to change.

I was jerked out of my thoughts by a hand on my thigh. I looked over at Gage as he squeezed my thigh gently.

"We are here." I glanced out the front window and saw we were in a parking lot but tons of people were walking around us. I scrunched up my eyebrows wondering where we are. "Come on."

Opening my door and stepping out I noticed everyone else was already outside waiting for us. Macey sent me a confused look as the guys started to lead us where everyone else was walking. It was getting dark out and get colder. I slide up next to Gage a little closer hoping for some of his body heat to help warm me up. I tightened my scarf around my neck a bit more.

I was about to ask where we were and I knew the other girls were too when I finally saw where we were going. I looked up at Gage with my mouth wide open.

"Christmas lights!" We were downtown in New York where everywhere you looked you saw huge christmas trees and lights. All around us people walked around gawking at the display of christmas decorations. We were at the edge of the block so we couldn't see all the trees just yet nor the huge one in the middle of Rockefeller Center.

"They just put them up so we thought we should take you girls to see it." Ethan said smiling down at Amy on his arm. She grinned up at him and pulled herself closer to him. I did the same to Gage.

"Lets go!" Macey exclaimed excited as she tugged Luke after her as she started walking in the direction of the lights and trees. Laughing we all followed.

Gage and I stuck back a bit from the rest of the group. We walked hand in hand as we gazed at all the lights the city had put up. It was amazing how fast they did it and every year it looked as amazing as the last. I had actually forgotten about the trees and stuff that goes on in downtown. My parents took Luke and I many times when we were little but after a while we stopped going everywhere and instead just spent the days decorating our own house.

Now seeing this all again brought back some great memories. Memories of me on my dad's shoulders as we walked down the street while Luke and I pointed at everything. I could see my parents walking hand in hand grinning at one another than at us.

I looked up at Gage to find him staring down at me a small smile on his face. I never thought I would be looking at christmas lights with a boyfriend let alone Gage Harper.

The thing is I never planned on falling for Gage. I never planned on him coming into my life and turning it upside down. I always had this idea of being with Ethan and growing old together. Not once did I image that person being anyone else. Now I can't see anyone other than Gage. He just fit into my life.

The moment Gage crashed into my life, literally, things have changed. And I would have to say for the better. Without him I wouldn't have gotten over Ethan, I wouldn't be as happy as I am right now, and I wouldn't be having such a good freshman year of college.

All my ideas for what college would be like has changed. It never turned out the way I thought it would and I am glad it didn't. I would not change what has happened because I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't be walking beside a guy that I am helplessly in love with.

I guess everything happens for a reason and for once I am glad this happened. This is one thing I cannot be mad at for happening. Fate has it's own plans and sometimes you just have to roll with it. Because who knows sometimes it ends up better than you would have imagined.

"What are you thinking about?" Gage asked leaning his head down a bit so he could talk to me. All around us little kids were yelling and laughing. The streets were starting to fill up as more and more people came to see the lights.

"I am thinking about how lucky I am to have you." I said truthfully.

"I am just as lucky." I grin widely at him.

We kept on walking trying to keep up with everyone else. We passed by window after window that was filled with christmas trees. Every single one different than the last. The trees differed in height, color, and theme. Up ahead I could hear Macey exclaiming every time she saw a tree that it was her favorite.

After dodging people and laughing at some conversations we overheard we finally reached the main tree in downtown. The tree had to be 100 feet tall. I was still amazed at how they manage to decorate it and bring it in. I knew they actually closed down some streets to get the tree in and to put it up.

Tons of people stood around staring up at the the huge tree that was now lit up. The sun was completely down now and it was dark. The lights glowed brightly on peoples faces as they 'oh' and 'awed' over it. All eight of us stood in a small square as we stared up at it.

In front of us Macey always wrapped in Luke's arms with her back pressed against his front. Luke had his head dipped to rest on her shoulder. Next to them was Amy and Ethan who had his arm wrapped around her shoulders and had her pressed to his side.

To the right of Gage and I was Dylan and Anna. They both had their arms around each other's waist and leaning into one another. Anna looked to be saying something while Dylan stared lovingly down at her.

Then there was Gage and I. I was standing on his left side but that didn't last long. Soon Gage maneuvered me so I was standing right in front of him. His heavy arms was wrapped tightly around my middle and pressing me back against his front. His warmth wrapping itself around me. His chin was resting on top of my head as we looked out at the tree.

I felt so safe and secure in his arms that I never wanted to move. I never wanted to know what it was like not to have his arms around me. I wanted to forever be wrapped in him like a cocoon.

As all of us stood there, stuck in our own little bubbles of happiness, I found myself wanting to take a picture of this moment. I didn't ever want to forget this and I don't think I will. It will forever be ingrained in my mind, especially the way it felt to be held by Gage.

Letting out a sigh of content I leaned back against Gage's sturdy frame. I was more content than I have ever been in my life. Even though it was freezing cold and I was beyond tired I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Hello everyone! Sorry about the lateness of this one! The reason this one is a tad bit shorter than past chapters (It is still 6,000 words) is because I wanted to have the Christmas Party be its own chapter.
