Interrogation
Finley's Perspective-
The Gryffindor common room was pretty quiet, everyone taking in what they had just seen. Well, that was until Martyn stormed in.
He slammed the painting shut and looked around angrily. "Where's Niamh?"
She raised a timid hand from a chair, and he stormed over.
"Where were you last night?!" He demanded.
"W-what?" She shrunk down.
"I saw you sneaking out!!"
Everyone was silent as they watched the argument fold out. Skizz's eyes widened as he remembered hearing someone sneak out at the beginning of the year. He turned to look at Niamh, who looked scared.
"Where were you!! Were you out tampering with the Quidditch stuff? Did you make it try and chase Rosie?! What dark magic are you using!" Martyn's voice got louder, and Niamh started to cry.
"Martyn, stop!" Finley stormed over, grabbing his shoulder. "What are you doing?! You really think she did it?"
"I saw her sneaking out!"
"So? How are you so sure she was doing that?"
"How are you defending her? It's all right there! She snuck out the night before a game and now this happened. She always sneaks out too! Remember when Skizz said he heard the painting move? That was only a couple days before the first incident!"
"But you can't be so sure! You never saw her!"
Martyn huffed. "What, are you doing this?"
"No! Why would you think that?"
Martyn rolled his eyes, and he saw Emmory, who was sitting right behind Finley.
"And you, what's your deal?" Martyn questioned him harshly.
"I'm sorry?" Emmory looked up from his travel magazine, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"You're so weird, you know that? You're always reading dumb travel magazines, and you intentionally have long hair to try and hide. Are you behind this? That'd make sense, you know the quietest people are normally the most dangerous."
Martyn continued on his rant and suddenly he felt a hand slap his cheek.
His eyes widened and he stumbled down, looking up to see Finley, who was standing in front of Emmory.
"Shut your damn mouth." Finley whispered dangerously. "You don't have any proof, so stop pointing fingers. I'm sorry your friend almost got hit, I really am, but that doesn't give you a right to accuse those who are innocent."
Niamh slowly sat up, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. Finley turned to Emmory, making sure he was okay.
Martyn stood up, feeling dazed and rubbing his cheek, wincing as he felt a bad sting.
He sighed, not worried about what others thought about him, but worried about the lecture he would be getting from Rosie about his actions.
