Boyfriends ≠ A Cure

Boyfriends do NOT equal a cure. My friend, xsetafirex has written a message for this very chapter. :)

Hey all you lovley single people out there.

I have had a lot of experiance in this and just recently broke up with someone from two days and it was actually pretty hard. But I am all better now, please keep him in prayer though. Anyways, I want to tell you how important it is to actually know someone.

This is why you should do Bible studies and spend time with God before you even think about dating. God is everything. He is the glue that holds you two together. You may think he is the right guy but does he ask you about God? where your walk is with Him? Does he/she love God endlessly? Or are they a "Christian"

For insance, this was the first ever Christian guy I dated. He said, "I thought I finally found someone who will help me battle depression." WRONG!

That is totally wrong.

God is the one that's supposed to be healing you!

Not only that but he also had a mental thing going on and he told me it isn't curable. Yeah, I would LOVE to believe that but I don't. Nothing isn't curable, you just don't want it bad enough.

Not only that but I was getting bad anxiety, overthinking EVERYTHING. I believe in love at first sight. My friend's dad told me that when he had met his wife, she didn't think they would be together but he knew it and then they had a dream about it at the same time. Well, God gave them that dream.

So, with this, my friends, I just suggest (I know some won't listen to me haha) that you stick with God, and be with your friends. I love my friends and I feel so bad because I feel like I neglected them for this guy. I mean a real man wouldn't want you to do that!

If you need anything, I am here for you.

PEACE!

Love, General.

As General has pointed out, you cannot rely on your boyfriend to solve your problems, whether it's depression, anxiety, or if you just want to get closer to God. If you have depression, anxiety, or anything like that, you should see talk to someone and try to see a therapist or someone with a similar occupation. You might not want to burden anyone with your problems, but that's their job. ;-)

As for getting close to God, that requires effort on your part. Sure, you might date or get married to someone who full-heartedly encourages you to pursue your relationship with God, but they cannot strengthen your relationship with God.

If you don't strengthen your relationship with God before you date, you're a lot more likely to make bad choices before, during, and after you're dating a guy.

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. "

-John 14: 1

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

- 1 Timothy 2: 1-15

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. "

-James 4: 8
