Maturity struggle

(Drama, car scenerio)
Augusta GA: May 12, 2016

"Come on get your stuff. We're going..." An older, sort of deep, but emotionally stale voice called to his younger brother.

"But...why can't we stay for a little bit? I mean we've got-"

"Friends? Nah...I don't think so bro, we're going. As the older brother, I have to set the best example possible for you. I don't want you hanging out with those...those...dirty kids."

"Why do you think of them like that?"

"Because they're a bad influence on you. Bad association for you, Mirak. They'll change who you are all together. So to prevent that, I'm going to keep you away from them, or whatever I can to protect you."

"Bit...overprotective don't you-"

"I'm doing this because I love you! Mom and dad are gone, and I'm the only person who can take care of you! I'm trying to gain more responsibility and get experience with the outside world before I'm officially done with school. I think I found a job. That we'll BOTH like. So...like I said, as the big brother, I have to do my best to take care of you. You don't have to look at me as your dad, But I DO need you to listen to me....no matter what, bro." Stopping his slightly younger brother by the classroom door, as all other students walked out.

"At least you still have some things about you that keeps you...entertaining."

"Like what?" Questioning that odd statement. Now the younger Zeraora had to think for a second. Almost saying that without thought.

"Well...how you still say bro and such. Nearly copying my speech and using modern slang. Heh, and how you might say 'man' or 'dude' when you're upset. I mean, after everything you've been through. You're....you're pullin through. I guess i'm just not appreciating your efforts enough, especially since you're doing it alone. At least you still love me..." Dropping his head and his arms down. His older brother just put his paw on his younger sibling's shoulder. Trying to reassure him.

"That will never change, no matter what. You're my brother...my own flesh and blood. The way I see it is we ride or die. Whatever we do, wherever we go, whatever happens. We do it together. Because being able to turn my head to the side during a war, and look back to the person I have the most respect for. I'll never trade that. That 5 second utopia that makes the world go in slow motion and it's only is, no one else. It's only till the death of our parents I truly appreciate you, Mirak. Everyone thinks of siblings as annoying or a burden. Well unless they're truly close. I guess now i'm taking the time-"

"Hey look, you two can do all your talking outside of the school. right now, you're blocking the hallway to other students. Now please move" Being cut off by a teacher, who exited from Mirak's class to get them,to,be more considerat. Apparently they were so focused on each other, they forgot their manners for other students.

"Sorry."

"Let's go, Etin. We can talk about more important things back when we......................never mind."

"Yeah, good thinking." Knowing that their situation is very complicated, and relying on his brother to handle their lives. He's the only sort of reliance he has. They kept close in the cramped hallways of all the wild moving kids, there was almost no space to walk around. but with trail and error, they made it out to the parking lot. Unfortunately, Mirak didn't have his own vehicle yet. That was about to change.

"Hey, you had a license right? Before....all 'that stuff' happened?" Trying to recall and old memory that may have escaped his mind.

"Not yet, but I'm getting there. Mom and dad's cars were destroyed in the incident. So...your GTR is all we got. But, remind me WHY you got a supercar, PLUS a bodykit...very showy if you ask me." Questioning his brother's taste for car style. He just shrugged and looked back at him with a straight face.

"I dunno, birthday present. My parents told me I could have any car I wanted, as long as it had a V6.......and guess what, I got it. A V6 alright, just with 550HP." Not even cracking a smile, as it was pretty sneaky.

"Hmph...very slick of you. Bro..."

"Funny...mom and dad just...got it. Sure, expensive but we got mad cash in our...uhh. Accounts. I don't know who to trust around here. Anyway, the kit however, I put this on because...well lets just say. I like cars with body cosmetics. That was until new games started coming in. When bodykits actually looked NICE. I'd have to say...early 2000's? Nah, doesn't do it for me. I got this kit because I feel it makes it stand out WAY more than some regular All-wheel-drive V6 supercar. And since this is a newer car, it's easier to take car of. Looks nice, feels nice, smells nice. It's my baby, I guess. But don't worry, i'm not leaving you out of the party, bro. just...let me do some thinking, I'll get you one."

"But why get one at all?" Still seeming to avoid his question, and now crossing his arms.

"Cuz. Everything looks sexier when you dress it up. Just wait till I work at a Casino. Me in a tuxedo and my 'dressed up' car with me. I'm a million dollars, haha!" Opening the door and trying to get in. But someone called his name from afar. That got his attention, and looked behind him.

"Etin! Hey wait!"

Now approaching him was a Delphox. Younger than Etin, but older than Mirak. This got his attention, as she was a rather smart specimen in her class. But he wanted to get home, and felt he was just making him stay longer.

"Yes, what is it?"

"Hey...I wanted to tell you and your brother that. Well two days from now, I'll be hosting a party. I'm bringing some familiar faces along too. Unfortunately I can't invite the WHOLE school, but I felt you two were...ya know, cool enough to tag along." He just let out a disbelieving 'Hmff' and wanted more insight on this gathering. So since he was going to ask a few questions, he leaned on the roof of his car with his arm, trying to get comfortable.

"Can you tell me who all's going to be there?"

"Well see that's the thing. You're the only two students I've asked so far-"

"And why would you invite me anyway? Aren't I a bit too old for you guys? I'm about to turn 19, about to get a job, as well graduate. And the rest of you guys are around 14 to my age, like what. Oh, and when I say old I mean 'MENTALLY MATURE'...which I'm sure most you highschoolers don't appreciate."

"dang bro, you don't gotta do'em like that. Give her a break, she just likes you."

"Really now? At least tell what will be happening there." Getting more picky with his suspicions.

"Alright, Uncle...I have a pool over at my place, so if you felt like going for a swim, I had that covered. Uhhhh, also drinks and lots of junkfood. And I think last thing was....OH RIGHT! I had a room that my parents had setup for any 'hardcore' gamers. Which i'm sure you boys will love."

"Sounds like a bargain to me, Etin. You in? Sounds like fun."

"Yeah, but no alcohol...I've been seeing some underage drinkers doing shady business-"

"Oh you worry too much! Let loose, alright?" Trying to get him out of his seemingly overprotective world. This seemed to repel him further and not wanna go. But ignoring it, he turned to his brother.

"You're not going anywhere without me, bro. It's too dangerous."

"But she seems honest. She doesn't strike me as-"

"She may be OK, but not the others, Mirak. You know what happens, what makes you think it's going to be any different? Like I said, bad association. It will turn you into something else...you won't even know it, Mirak. I wouldn't even recognize you as my own brother. I don't want to lose you, not mentally or out of my sight. Because then I'll have....no one left." Trying to hold back some emotional feelings. His brother didn't take it as a guilt trip though. He was right, and he was at least loyal enough to listen to his brother. Even if he was overprotective or uses cliche words that feel like they carry no meaning.

"Hey you know you could just say....not interested. If you think it's not going to be fun. Just trying to do something nice for you guys. You two seem so...lonely, you have no friends. So I thought this would be the best way to get some new companions. Not everyone is as bad as you think, Etin...yes there are some dumb kids, but there are others who are just as smart and mature as you. And you shouldn't hold back your own brother out of fear he would suffer. Besides, it'll help him experience too!" Saying the last sentence with some sunshine to it. That seemed to do it. And he made up his mind.

"Alright alright. I'll go. And Mirak will too. Just...if anything gets out of hand, or I hear something I don't like. we're leaving."

"What if your brother doesn't?"

"He should. I wouldn't expect a 16 year old to cower away from challenges, and retreat with his tail tucked between his legs."

"Bro! Shutup! I'm not some child!" Getting defensive towards Etin's statement. He then turned to his younger brother and confronted him with a serious face.

"Then tonight you can prove it. Show me that you can stand up for yourself when temptation comes. Maybe even when something bad happens."

"Like what!" Still in his defensive nature. His brother just huffed.

"You'll see. Alright, I was going to turn down this. But...maybe this provides a benefit I was too hasty to run from. What time do we need to show up?"

"8PM sounds best. I would try sooner, but...the party may end too shortly."

"What's the end time? And you said we'll be going in two days? As in...Saturday evening?"

"Yes, so get a calendar or something, and you guys might be good to go! Just...don't send out too many invites, I don't want to manage too many people being goofballs."

"Oh I can help with that...well. Guess we better get going, oh also don't tell anybody we're rich kids just because I own a GTR. I don't like to attract attention." Feeling a little uneased by his vehicle, now that they were heading to an event.

"Hmph. Says the guy with a expensive car..." Almost not believing that statement of his. But she ended up being caught dumbfounded.

"What's a GTR?" Etin just smirked and was about to get in his car.

"Heh...good. Come on Mirak, let's go 'home'." Eyeing him a look, since him and his brother knew their critical status.

"Right..."

And the both got into Etin's car, a very flashy, and wide car it was, since the LB kit made the fenders wider, more stanced. Whatever this car was, it sure was cool looking to the Delphox's eyes. And it just got better. The startup was ethereal. A loud V6 with the perfect purr to it, and hummed like a beast. And when it pulled out of it's spot, it seemed to purr louder. Now she knew nearly nothing about cars...but this one in particular made her wanna give it a try. Maybe she was missing out on something that was worth a look.

"Great...here comes the attention." Sounding almost dissapointed his car was starting to become crowded.

"This is what you can when you have a car that costs over 100k. At least they don't know our circumstances. Hey, can you guys give us some space! We're trying to get out of here!" Rolling down his window, and shouting to get everyone moving. But they were too interested in his car.

"Why is it now they acknowledge this thing?"

"Because for a large majority of the year, you drove a Muscle car. Yeah....not a lot really cares for those, so cliche and almost common by now."

"But why this?"

"Maybe...because of the sound? Anybody would know the sound of a VR38 Six cylinder. Even if they didn't know what a VR38 is, they'd know which car made this unmistakable exhaust him. Or maybe the car's wide fenders. Good thing you didn't put on a spoiler, you would have been the most popular kid in school."

"Yo what is this!? I've gotta show this to all my friends." A Greninja exclaimed, trying to get out his phone and get a shot, or a video. This seemed to make Etin groan out of discomfort how everyone crowded around him. He kinda wanted to launch past everyone and go home.

"Everyone MOVE!" Shouting out from his window. And this seemed to puzzle him, as most people like to be the coolest of them all. Although, it was hard for Etin to keep his humility when he got a more expensive car. A car that cost almost as much as a house.

"Alright guys, let's give him some space to get out. Nice car by the way-"

"You don't even know what I nice car is, no where even close." Cutting off another student and a bit cross. His brother turned and seemed to be shocked by his hostility by now.

"You don't have to be rude, man...it looks cool."

"It's just a car, bro. Now If I had a Ferrari F12 or maybe a Aston martin Vulcan? Yeah...that's a nice car."

"that's TOO much actually. Typicso words of a spoiled rich boy, who THINKS 100 thousand is too low. Just becaude the car dosen't cost 2 mil, does not mean in the LEAST it can't be nice. " Countering his statement. But still Etin was being slowed by drooling viewers. He didn't want to do something he would regret, so he took his time. He had hoped they wouldn't ask him to do anything stupid. Or be pressured. What seemed like hours of gazing and staring at this thing, he was finally let out. And he let out a sigh of relief, as they could finally go home.

"What a wait. I'm tired, I'm hungry, I need to get myself some energy, change, a whole list. That took some patience."

"Umm....they're still spying."

As he drove away, everyone seemed to be even MORE attracted to his car by the sound. As he cruised by in his silver liberty walk supercar. The VR38 purred louder as he drove away, and it could be heard from almost a mile away. It may have been a calm engine, but it had a loud purr, that would make anyone's spine tingle, enthusiast or not. Etin looked in his rear view mirror to see pretty much most of everyone trying to get a good view of his expensive vehicle.

"Well...we can breathe easy now. I have a feeling they'll never let me forget who I am. Or...my past self." Whispering to himself in a self conscious tone. But his brother tried to calm him down.

"Hey don't worry about it. It's not like it's a bad thing. Sure you've got things different from everyone else, but it doesn't mean you're stuck up or a snob."

"I...guess you're right. Thanks Mirak. I try to set the best example possible for you, bro. You're the world to me."

"And we only have each other." Saying in a quick response. Every single time they think of each other, it always led to an emotional moment. Just the two of them. Struggling to grow up and dealing with the deaths of their incredibly selfish parents. But with them being on their own, they have to take care of each other. Some time later they arrived home. It was a nice suburban neighborhood, and that 'house costing car's' in a cheap neighborhood. As soon as they got out, they could see other cars coming in dropping off their kids from school, and other adults getting off from work.

"Well. Let's go get refreshed. One more school day until the party. You lookin forward to it? I am." Mirak said to his brother with a smile. However, his brother wasn't smiling, as a matter of fact almost never does. But his younger brother knows he smiles from the inside at least, he knows his heart's happy.

"Actaully...yes I am. See the people we meet, new friends. Maybe...even help?" Trying to look at the more positive side of the event. This made Mirak smile wider. Seeing his big brother's positive side is almost a rare sight, considering multiple factors to give him reason not too.

"Glad to hear! Come on, let's get in the house."

-later that night-

Etin and Mirak were sleeping in the same bed, and with big brother holding his younger sibling. Now Etin espically would have had a problem with this today or earlier. But...since his mom and dad are gone, he's the only peice of family he has left. So...he's trying to hang onto him as tight and long as he can. And his mind being distressed by this, he was held awake by this.

"You know...Mirak. I know I may seem...like a jerk...to you. Never a smile on me. And overprotective over you. I...I just wish our parents hadn't of made such a stupid decision. And ended up paying for it with their lives. I...don't want the same to happen to us...to you. They died selfishly. And if I only think about myself, and my passion...you'll pay for it more. *sigh*. I love you, bro. I really wish...I told you that more. If anything were to happen to you." Cutting himself off and gripping his sleeping brother's back tighter, disturbing his sleep a little and making him groan a little. But it was now he was starting to really appreciate his brother. Neglecting and abandoning him all because he thought of him as a nuisance and annoying. But truth is...he disappreciated him, and never bothered to care. Now...his younger sibling has given him a second chance, and has thrown out his mistakes. At least since they both have a passion now, it will strengthen their relationship now. With Mommy and daddy out of the picture, they have to be brothers in arms. And Etin seemed to get that now. Really caring for him and bonding with his brother.

"I know you can't hear me, Mirak. But...I want what's best for you, I want to be a good brother...for real this time. I better get some sleep. School won't be so forgiving in the morning." And with his final words to his sleeping brother, he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself. Hoping his words will stay in his head, even if it was absurd to think so.

-7 hours later-

Mid morning nearing 7:27 AM. They 30 minutes to prepare. Although that seemed like a little bit of time, there was much to be done. As some light creeped through the curtain light. It didn't hit Etin's face, but the sound of car doors did. It was a peaceful awakening, unlike how his parents drives and rushed him out of bed.

"Hey...bro, we gotta get up. Dress ourselves and fed." Whispering to his brother, and giving him a slight shake. It did wake him up, but he let out a curios 'hmm?' to his brother. Of course he didn't want to get up as much as he did, but they wanted to keep their perfect attenendance streak.

"Come on. We both have kept almost all 180 days of attendance, come on. Let's end the year strong. Just a little bit more stretching, and we can rest however long we so please."

"Awwww come onnnnnnn...I made sure to get extra sleep, and I'm still slumpy." Complaining in his brother's chest. Feeling paralyzed by drowsiness. But they didn't give up to slumber. Etin tried moving a little to purposefully make his brother uncomfortable and get him to wake up. But so he could ensure he could wake his own self up. He went ahead and did 10 push ups to get his blood going and heart pumping.

"Hey, Mirak, doing a little early excersize would help. Gets your blood moving to start the day." Trying to encourage his brother up and to get going. But there was no response this time.

"Look if you don't get up, i'm gonna do something you're gonna regret."

"Yeah, go ahead, I'm already dead." With his voice half suppressed in the bed sheet. Etin smirked and then chuckled.

"Your funeral". He came over on the bed, pushed him over to where his face was up, and then started to wildly tickle his body. This made every nerve tense up in his body, and devote that adreniline to his brain. His eyes dialated, and retracted his claws out of defense, but laughed in agony. And he tried grabbing his brother's arms, but he was too awake to be caught.

"Bro, stop it! Ha! Grk, ah! Ok ok! Teh...gah!" Now beiliving him he stopped and tried to help him up.

"Come on. Now get dressed."

"Ok ok. Heh heh. I guess that's one way to do it."

"Oh but...one more thing-"

"No more bro..." Trying to keep his guard up, as it was slightly unpleasant for him to just outright tickle him. But instead of doing something else unpleasant. He pushed forward and hugged his brother tightly. Arms wrapped widely around his back. Mirak was startled by this for a second. But easily caught onto the affection. He hugged his older brother back, with nearly the same physical regard. It lasted a good ten seconds. Until his brother said another thing.

"I love you. I won't to be your brother, a good big brother. I love you more than anything in the world, Mirak. I want to correct myself and be good to you."

Trying to sound as real and sincere as he possibly could. Feeling guilty over his past mistakes. But his brother disregarded his flaws and focused on how he wanted to be better.

"I'm so glad you want to, Etin. Thank you..." smiling widely and holding onto him tighter. Feeling like they were truly growing close by this point. And Etin ended the hug and tried to hurry up his brother out of bed.

"Now let's go, my car is itching to be driven."

"Yeah yeah, alright. Maybe if we get there earlier, or later than usual. Maybe we won't get as much attention."

"Heh...a minute before class starts."

"sounds good, haha." Playing along with his brother's joke.

-30 minutes later-

"Welp. Let's hurry into class bro. See you after school." Looking over and giving his brother a fist bump before getting out.

"Yeah. See you later big bro." Hopping out and rushing into the school. Etin almost forgot to lock his car, but stopped himself and clicked it.
"Don't want that piece of work being stolen." Whispering to himself and running back to the school entrance and trying to catch up.

-the next night-

"Welp...we made it here buddy. Saturday night." Etin saying to his brother, as he looked around the dark neighborhood.

"You sure this was it?" Feeling a little unsure of their directions.

"Has to be. Celia said this was her place. We should see cars and hear music. Heh...makes me wonder how their neighbors feel about it." Letting out a amusing chuckle. But making another left turn through a wide neighborhood road. He traveled another 400ft and found his destination. And the cars were the first thing he looked at.

"Hmph...weebs."

"Like I said, you're driving a house, bro..."

Shrugging off his remark, he pulled up to the student's house. He didn't want to consider her a friend yet, because he barely knew her, so it would have to wait on that title.

"Hmm...guess the driveway is occupied. The dirt shouldn't hurt."

"You sure you're ok with that? I mean...it does look pretty nice."

"My girl is sexy, but sexier when dirty, hahahaha!" Near laughing up a storm from his own statement. And it seemed to embarrass Mirak, since he never heard his brother use such words. The only real cars that looked sexy when dirty is any WRX or Evos from any model year. Well...since they're rally born cars. He tried to shake it off even though it made him uncomfortable. It was just some silly statement anyway. And as soon as Etin got on a comfortable place to park, the deep humming stopped. And they were ready to have some fun.

"Remember...behave...and stick up for yourself Mirak. I don't want to have to rescue you every five seconds."

"Yeah yeah, I got it." Coming back with a snarky tone, feeling as if he was too childish to handle himself. This would prove it in this event. So as they walked from the grass to the front door, the familiar Delphox came from around the corner of the house and tried to get their attention. They whipped around and perked up to her shout

"Hey you two, come on. You can help me and a few other friends help set up everything for the final scene!" Trying to get the pumped up to help.

"Alright, Celia, we'll help." Etin speaking up and traveling around to the back. And it sure was semi lit with some having some fun, socializing here and there, and a mix with assisting.

"The sooner we get this done, the sooner the fun starts!" Excaliming enthusiastically to both brothers, trying to encourage the same fire in them.

"Alright, what first? Table seems a bit empty." Etin said looking at the table with a lack of drinks and snacks.

"I had some 2 liter Sodas you guys can grab from the back door. There's five, but don't get careless. I don't want them busting." She warned them of the future caution.

"Got it." Etin responded.

"Heh...if we wanted 2 liters, we could have bought ourselves a Civic." Trying to make a car pun to an engine.

They had a little difficulty. After some lengthy minutes they carried one bottle for safety. And they got all of them on the party table. Awaiting any further commands. However, Celia seemed to be interested on something on her phone. It seemed to make her think...differently.

"Hey! Celia, something wrong? You busy?"

"Not necessarily. Although...I think someone likes to flex their rich stuff..."
Both brothers were confused one that last statement, and required more insight on her claim.

"What are you talking about? What kind of a bozo would do that?" Feeling dumbfounded and still not picking up any evidence. she just huffed and brought her phone over to Etin's face, and his heart nearly stopped. She was talking about his car from Thursday, two days ago. He didn't know what to say. Seems some wise guy decided to post his car exiting the school on social media. What a way to ruin his life.

"Em...what am I looking at here? It's just some GTR pulling out of a school." Trying to play off his dumb nature. But she was smarter than that, and rolled her eyes.

"Don't try to play me, that's your car, Etin. As a matter of fact, I think it's sitting in my yard." Starting to make a big deal about it. But Etin still tried to shake off the worry.

"OK, why are you making this such a big deal, huh? It's just some car-"

"That you seem to know so well. Social media made it a big deal. I just got curious, and it looks expensive."

"Eh...112k ain't that much..."

"Bro...yes it is. For a car that is a lot." Celia seemed to have her eyes widen and jaw drop. That's ridiculous for a car, and he said that's not a lot? He have money...

"What's the problem? Never seen a car that expensive?"

"Never in my life. I've seen 50 but not 100. That's as much as a house...Etin." He just smirked and chuckled a little.

"I've been trying to tell you that man...that is expensive."

"Clearly you guys don't know car prices. I've seen some that cost more than a million. Some cost 20 million, and even beyond that! Did you know, the Ferrari 250 GTO is currently the most expensive sold car in HISTORY of cars? Sold at an auction for 48 million, near 50! A truly rare and beautiful work of art and performance. And those tags range from modern day Hypercars and extremely rare vintage vehicles, with engines you didn't even know that existed. Old but priceless."

"Eesh, that IS ridiculous. That's WAY out of our pockets though. I do want to say, Etin. With time that goes along, that car could gradually increase in prove extremely dramatically. It may be 50 now. Another year or two, three four. It may 80, possible 100. But I do agree. It is the most expensive car on. The. Planet. Ferrari should be proud." She seemed to be even more shocked by this point. Why would anyone use that much money on a car? Something that can be crashed any day or any hour, not to mention stolen or scratched? To her eyes, that was not worth it.

"Who in gods name would pay that much for a car!?"

"Me-haha! If I had the cash, i'd buy myself a Cinque. One of the loudest V12's I know. Ear busting loud." Almost gloating about the car. Of course any realistic thinking person knows that is completely over the top. She started having second thoughts about this kid. He says he's trying to set an example for his brother, yet he lacks maturity in another aspect. Sure wasn't the best brotherly example he could pose.

"Are you serious?"

"Of course not! I wouldn't spend any more than half a million. Anything over is too much or simply too delicate to own. At least to me."

"That's still a lot."

"Just his personal preference, everyone's different, Celia. You don't need to judge him for that." Defending his brother as he felt he was being treated unfairly. She backed off and calmed down after seeing Mirak's defense.

"Ok...sorry. It gave me some doubts about him. Just how he came off was snobby. I mean, he owns a very expensive car, you two travel together, almost everywhere. You guys are pretty suspicious." Starting to narrow her eyes at them. They just looked at each other and frowned.

"Yeah, blame our parents for this one..." Mirak spoke up. Etin couldn't really add anything else to it. They were lonely because they had irresponsible parents. So all he did was just stay silent. Mirak said it all.

"What happened to them?"

"Died...car crash, that they brought on themselves." Etin said, still with his dissapointed frown. But it seemed to sadden Celia more than them.

"Sorry to hear-"

"Don't be...I'm not."

"You really shouldn't, they died out of stupidity. An unfortunate fate they could have well avoided. Why feel sorry for an idiot who had full capability to evade death? They died selfishly, not heroically. That's why we're not crying. We did at first...but now they died with shame." Hearing this seemed to shock the Delphox. To her, they seemed like heartless children. But she didn't want to make false assumptions. If what they were saying was true...then maybe they needed some help. Maybe friends too.

"Well...I'm here to help you guys. If you ever need me."

"We're fine. We have a place to live, and we have money. We'll be Ok for a little while." Mirak said to her. She seemed to shrug it off and disregard the subject by now, seeing it was prolonged enough.

"Alright guys. Well...enjoy the party." Trying to make a change of pace and encourage them to get loose and have some fun. Etin and Mirak had a look om their face that spoke the same language. 'Just forget about it' they thought. And just tried to ignore any other dislpleasing comments.

-4 hours later-

After most members had left, it was down to some of the other kids. Some had some ok vehicles. And some had some nice sports and muscle. One being a Hellcat, another was a newer Camaro SS, and thank God they got the V8 version. And then was a M4 GTS, the latest model. That seemed to get Etin's attention. Matte black with the usual yellow factory paint line. He examined it from front to back, as if he's never seen it. Well at least not in person.

"Now who owns this..." Etin said to himself. But as of right on time, a Electabuz walked up on his side and greeted him.

"Hey! I think I remember your face. The...kid with umm....silver sports car?"

"Liberty walk Nissan GTR..." Fully corecting him. At first he was awfully surprised he got the full name outright. But...he owned the car, so he must've known.

"Well...that's impressive. Um...how fast is it?" Wondering any other specs about his car. This one Etin had to think, as he did do some minor modding to it, with the help of his brother.

"Well it's still the same V6 VR38, but at the same time, it's not pure. It came with 550 in it, stock, but me and Mirak bought some mods, played with it, and....now it's kickin at least 720 now. I'm still learning about technical upgrading anyway, so I'm no master. Although we did do some valve, turbo, Crank and cam swapping which could be referred as a striker kit. Gives better performance. And increased the displacement a little, but the problem there is it will take more gas. No matter, I can pay for it. Put more durable valves on, because this car love to rev. Swapped out the intake for a cold one, obvouisly, because engines work better in cooler air. And did some minamal welding. Since I was more accurate, I knew what to burn, and my brother watched, but I did have help so I wouldn't end up breaking something I couldn't fix. It's got about the power of a 4 liter V8, without a super or turbocharger. I was tempted to slam on a powerful single turbo, but me and Mirak both split or money for stronger twin 15 PSI turbos. Put them together, you get twice the spool up speed, reducing turbo lag. Of course the GTR is twin turbo'd stock, but this is a replacement since both push 15 pounds of pressure at a equal pace. They're both small so I got power very quickly. Making a solid 1 and a half amount of G force, and to me that's impressive just for a little over 700. But...at the same time, torque contributes to acceleration, than overall power. Also, a slightly bigger more durable intercooler. Can't be havin the turbo throwing hot air into the cylinders, because, like like I said, engines work more effectively in cooler condition. And if the turbocharged air is cooler, it makes the air dense, THUS forth a more cramped explosion in a single piston for maximum performance. I........could be wrong on that one." Sounding extremely technical, and all the while, the teen looked at him like he was speaking another language. Etin had a feeling he wouldn't understand, and it made him feel smart. It may have been a very indecent, very rude thing to do, but hey, he asked.

"Got all that?"

"I have no idea what you just said..." Coming back with a bland voice. Of course he felt stupid for not processing everything he just said, but crossed his arms to recover his blank draw.

"How about a race, to settle the numbers."

"I was just about to ask haha!" Both thinking the same thing. Etin smirked, knowing he would win, with the skills and power he had. He may have played some driving sim games with a rig and a controller. But it was yet to prove in a real race. But first had to consider what would be their type.

"Um....I'm feeling more of a drag race, since this is a neighborhood, it should be a good replicate of a quarter mile. Short and sweet." Not wanting to disturb the neighbors too much, or endanger the public as minimally as possible. A street race did sound like more fun, since he wanted to feel the raw force of his car throwing him around. But it may be the most dangerous option. Of course...like all kids who wanted to be cool, he just had to go with the least safe choice available.

"Don't you wanna...you know, really race? I mean, feel the speed and addictive adrenaline?" Trying to tempt him into a stupid move.

"Look, I'd love to do that. But that's dangerous. Not to consider, any car from in this neighborhood could pull out at any given second, killing us or them. If you survive, chances are your car won't, or worse, kill bystanders who are handed an undeserving fate. Possibly die too, or get jail time. It's illegal as is, so might as well play it smart before we both suffer." Trying to get him to think logically before acting stupid. No doubt he would take it, IF there were no consequences. The Electabuzz seemed to start thinking now. He was right, and he didn't like that. Acting before he could think. So to avoid arguing, he agreed.

"Fine...just don't expect me to hold back."

"Teh, you stand no chance." Attempting to intimidate his rival, but seemed to be ineffective. Even though he was somewhat right.

"Yeah, we'll see about that. Get in, let's race." Trying to get him in the mood for it. But while Etin was walking up to his car, Mirak was already there waiting. He looked ready to go home. And as soon as he saw his brother, he perked up and was ready to finally get out of here. Well at least that's what his little brother thought.

"Hey, we finally gettin'outta here? I'm beat, sure did have a lot of fun. And I wish I had known there was a pool beforehand, I definitely would have gotten in."

"Even though it....you know, makes your fur heavy and dense? Sometimes it's a bit hard to dry, pretty much why I hate showers." Carying on with his topic, basically delaying the challenge. It was making Etin nervous, as he wanted to get it out of the way and go home too. His brother just shrugged and tried to get in, but his brother stopped him.

"Wait...I've got a little challenge to finish."

"What? Bro, what did you get yourself into..." Crossing his arms and sounding dissapointed of his older sibling doing shady stuff behind his back. Etin scratched his neck nervously, as he made a deal that wouldn't be the best example to display. Which was his top priority, being the best brother he could at every second of his life. But right now, time to be a little stupid.

"Well...see some of the other kids around here had some nice looking cars too, and one that caught my eye was a M4 GTS. It hasn't been out for very long. It's brand new, and it's sure expensive. Not supercar money, but it's hefty. So...knowing what it's capable of, it temped me to put my tuned supercar against his stock Luxury car. Just...have a little fun ya know?"

Hearing this seemed to make Mirak frown deeper, as this was the same selfish motive their parents ended up following. He wanted to stop his brother from following the same demise.

"Etin, no. This is EXACTLY what mom and dad did, and look where they ended up. Suffering horrid deaths. Mom was burned alive since she totaled out, and dad's head was split open by a windshield. I don't want my brother to go through the same thing. So please...just....don't" His voice starting to tremble a little. His older brother was all he had, and now he wanted to follow in his parents footsteps. Well...not exactly.

"Mirak, listen. It's not a full on street race, we're just doing a little drag race. It's equivalent to a quarter mile drag strip. don't worry, it should be quick."

"You may not come out alive, still. It's dangerous-"

"I fully understand that! Just....let me do this...once...I'll make sure to keep from doing dangerous things like this." Cutting off his brother, trying to persuade him into letting him join this unwise act. He made it sound safe, but they both knew things could go wrong. He dropped his head and heavily sighed.

"Fine...I won't feel bad when you crash too. And with whatever cash we have left over, I'll use it to support my life."

"Don't worry...we have 2.5 million leftover, so you can get a house in 2 years, bro. I...I hope I make it out. it's just some fun race anyway."

"So you see it as that. Fine....go have fun. I'll be at the stop sign when you guys finish. You can pick me up when it's over" Shoving him away verbally since he felt this was stupid and selfish. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to guilt trip his brother into changing his mind.

"Thanks Mirak." Smiling and getting in his car. Not bothering to fight with his brother, he just stepped aside and gave him room to get out. But he did at least want to watch before his brother burned. Etin hesitantly started his vehicle, his brother's words sticking on his heart. He had to admit, he was right. But once this was over, it would be done for the night. At least he hoped it would. Once the engine was cranked, Etin looked back at his brother. He had a distressed face on him...it was probably the guilt that haunted him. Ignoring his brother's wise warning. But still walked with stupidity. He pulled out of the grass, from the driveway and into the narrow road. Apparently the other guy was waiting. As soon as he got aligned with the GTS, he seemed to feel more guilt. But he soon tried to shake it off.

"Finally, you're here. You see that sign down there? That's our finish line."

It was silent for a second, as Etin was trying to ignore what Mirak said. 'Just a quick race' He thought to himself. But finally got out of his mind and got into a competitive spirit.

"You know that your car has less liters than mine, right? Smaller engine, less space for power. Mine is a 3.8, near 4. Both 6 cylinders, but different functioning engines. Not to mention slightly less numbers, despite twin turbo-"

"Yeah yeah, I left Math and Science at school, I didn't want to bring it to a party, where I'm supposed to have fun." Cutting him off and not wanting to hear the engine stats. It seemed to peeve Etin, but he could understand how someone like him with a car like that doesn't like 'Engine stuff'. But he just ignored it and tried to focus on winning. He could see how a guy like him with a car like that wouldn't really be interested in nerdy stuff. Sure it was a stereotypical assumption, but Etin didn't exactly like being shutdown. No matter, he still kept his game. And it ended up gathering a small crowd of 7 bystanders. Which were all around their age. Now Celia, the host of the party would have advised against this. But...at the same time, it looks intense. So someone else volunteerd to start the race. A eager Houndoom rushed to start the race. Etin looked very serouis and focused, whereas the other racer looked confident and ready. Both their head in the game, and ready to get on with this little race. Of course any bystanders tried to get out their phones in time for the race, no doubt are gonna use it for social media purposes. But time was short, and the Houndoom was readying them up.
'One!' Raising his right arm up. This made Etin tighten his grip on the wheel, and narrow his eyes. Holding down the gas and getting a smooth rev to 6500. He was planning on getting a launching start, but the M4 seemed to obnoxiously rev his car. He wasn't gonna get a smooth start.
'Two!' Now placing both hands on the wheel, and a ready grip on the paddles. It seemed like his world went in slow motion as he was one tick from starting. The sound of the smooth reviving V6 and a Inline-6 to add to the mix.
'One!' With everything so perfectly in place, Etin could feel everything falling into place. His internal self confidence and skills to take this win. All came down to one. Single. Second. And then both hands were thrown down. His senses sharpened as he let go of the emergency brake, and launched hard and smoothly off the road. The all-wheel-drive giving him a rocketing start, and away quickly. Although wheelspinning, he stayed in first gear to ensure he got maximum speed out of every gear this car had, and paddle shifting made it easier to swap than some old stickshift. Of course he was leaving the GTS in the dust as he seemed to have no problem whatsoever beating him. Mind and soul was invincible to the outside world, deaf to danger and sick with adrenaline. The pilot and, machine become one. He could only see the dark tarmac lit up by his headlights, as he gained crazy speed. He was racing over 120 now, and it kept getting higher. The GTS only neared 110, but Etin's car was upgraded slightly. But out of safety, he reeled himself back to reality, fearing he would meet an unfortunate wall of death from some pulling car he didn't see. Fortunetly he was close to his finish line, the stop sign just being a couple hundred feet away. Some seconds later, he slammed on the brakes, making a very loud tire screech, then pulling the E-brake to swing his car in a 90 degree angle. Mirak ran ahead and was already standing there. He was a little happy to see that his brother made it without dying.

"Come on, get in. We can go home now."

This made Mirak smile and he happily hopped into his brother's car. Some seconds later, the M4 showed up, and was pretty unhappy.

"Guess I should've listened, ey?"

"If you want to be faster yeah. Also, you gotta consider upgrades too. Definetly increases a car's overall potential, but then you need the skill to drive it."

"How'd you get so good?"

To this, Etin looked back at his wheel. He didn't have any special skills or technique. He just watched racing videos and plays racing games with a rig. Only difference is he can't feel the force and inertia of a moving car...or the death. He didn't really have a logical answer, but he went with what felt the most right.

"Just try to do things car related. The only thing I would recommend trying, is upgrading. Anything else is....dangerous."

"So uptight about danger and death, let loose, have some fun." Trying to get him to stop being so nervous. But this seemed to make both brothers frown at his statement.

"Fun got our parents killed. You're lucky I even considered racing. Good night." Driving out of the neighborhood and finally going back home. The dou were expecting to just go about the rest of the week without any trouble. But Mirak looked at his brother with a disapointed face, and Etin knew what it interpreted. He didn't have anything to say, no excuses.

"Sorry...that wasn't very responsible of me."

"Yeah that really wasn't...you could have died."

"But I'm here...I'm ok."

"Let's just forget this ever happened and to home, this has lasted long enough. I want this to end."

"Alright. *sigh*, won't be long. Hopefully nothing tragic happens on the way. That would be pretty ironic actaully." Chuckling at the image, as what he did was Bassically inviting danger. Mirak just brushed it off his shoulders, as he felt it was a poor statement.

"There's always a risk of dying when inside a vehicle. No matter what it is, air, water, or land, something can go wrong. I'd probably keep my mouth shut if I were you. Especailly after what happened tonight, Etin. I really don't want to see you doing that again." Being worried about his brother's safety.

"Can I still drag race-"

"No...it's too dangerous."

"Well...I mean on a strip, in a controlled condition." Trying to finish his sentence. Mirak was silent for a second. But then answered.

"Maybe...only if you don't do anything stupid. You're trying to be the mature one right?"

"Deal...I'm sorry. And I love you Mirak. Sometimes I'm not always...smart. But I'm really trying to be. It's...hard sometimes. But we're making it." Trying to end the night on hopeful words.
