Chapter 2
Leo S: They don't know how evil you are yet Ally
Ally: No they don't >:3
JBV: We do. -.-
Ally's POV
"You're supposed to be the Unbeatable Master." Shaden told me sadly, his expression falling as he stammered,
"I tried t-to p-prevent it, I swear!" But my jaw was already open, and I wanted to speak, but no words came out of my open mouth. I figured I looked stupid, I closed my mouth and asked,
"Are you messing with me?" Shaden facepalmed, and retorted,
"Why would I?!" I was about to reply when Chief Shadow barged in, and said,
"Shaden, your time is up. Leave." Shaden stood up sadly, and ruffled my head before he left. Chief Shadow closed the door, locking it.
"Allyson." He acknowledged me, and I stood up fron the comfortable shadow bed. I went on one knee, and bowed my head as I greeted,
"Greetings, your Majesty. How am I of any service?" This was compulsory for me, along with everyone else in the Shadow Clan, except Shaden, of course. He was his son. He thought he was too honorable for anyone too look at him in the eye except the Shanes and his son, although Shaden thought otherwise. But to my surprise, he told me,
"Rise, Allyson." I rose, showing no emotion as he looked me in the eye, and exclaimed,
"Allyson, ever since the death of Shanai Henaire, the Shadow Clan has been searching for a worthy slinger to take her place. And you, by far, are the only slinger who can truly fill this position, and not abuse it, despite your age-" Chief Shadow was interrupted by my arctic blue phone, which was ringing in my pocket. Chief Shadow looked appalled as I held up a hand and checked who was calling me, and I wasn't surprised to see that it was Cyan.
"Wait, hold on Your Highness, I gotta take this." I tapped the neon blue reply button and put the phone to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Thank god you replied! Where are you?! We tried calling you for the past 6 hours!" Cyan shouted, her loud voice making me cringe as I pulled the phone away the phone from my ear. I covered the phone with my hand and I spoke in Shadowise,
"I WAS OUT FOR 6 HOURS AND YOU DIDN'T WAKE ME?!" Chief Shadow responded monotonously,
"We thought that you need your rest, you were running for gods know how long." I groaned in frustration and told Cyan,
"You tried calling me for 6 hours?"
"Yeah, 6 bloody hours! Where the hell are you?!" She yelled angrily, but concerned laced her voice. I responded calmly,
"I'm in the Dark Periphery, after I defeated those guards it somehow knocked me out and I just woke up here, I'll be back soon." She asked me plainly,
"So this whole time you've been asleep?"
"Unconscious, but yeah, basically." I answered sheepishly, and I could almost feel her anger through my phone.
Leo S: O.O dang.
"YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME!" I heard Valdezi's voice yell from the other side of the room, and I tried to maintain a straight face I heard Valdezi and Cyan argue for Cyan's phone. Finally, Valdezi spoke into the phone, asking me,
"We spent 6 hours trying to contact you, and you were ASLEEP?" I facepalmed and corrected,
"Unconscious, Valdezi. Unconscious." He exclaimed,
"IT'S THE SAME THING!" I was about to ask where was Slugcat, but her voice yelled from the phone,
"OI ALLY WHERE YOU AT?!" I grinned and replied,
"Dark Periphery, I was in the middle of a conversation with Chief Shadow, until you guys called, but I'm actually glad you did." Silence followed the other end, and after a while, Cyan said,
"Okay then, good to know you're okay.
You better come back soon, though, the Shane Gang's coming over, we're exchanging intel." My eyes widened ad I exclaimed,
"I'll be there!" I hung up and looked at Chief Shadow, who sighed in relief that I hung up, and continued.
"As I was saying before your friends rudely interrupted, despite your age, you are the only slinger capable enough for the title "Unbeatable Master" throughout the 99 Caverns. I have known you ever since you were born, and I have trained you into a great slinger who's name would be on the history books for ages to come." I smiled sadly at him, who was surprised that I didn't show any emotion. I told him,
"Your Majesty, I am extremely flattered by your trust in my skill, but I am simply not worthy of the title. I have caverns to protect, enemies to defeat, and my powers I was born with shall assist me. I am so sorry, Chief Shadow. But on the other hand, I suggest your son, Shaden, shall take the position." Chief Shadow looked at me with disbelief and yelled,
"You're refusing this offer?!" I responded monotonously,
"Yes, Your Highness. You see, I am too young-"
"Age is not a problem, Allyson. Shanai took up the title at the age of 14. You will be the youngest one to take it by far. And isn't it an honor for you, to be the youngest Unbeatable Master?" I shook my head, and I reminded him,
"I'm only eleven, and in all due respect, there are other more worthy slingers who will gladly take up the title, I can introduce you to one, he used to be the defender of the Eastern Caverns-
"You do not speak of the Eastern Caverns and it's former protector! He has failed to defend his caverns, he is a disgrace to his bloodline! I only spared him when I saw him because the Shane was with him." I wanted to protest that he was possessed by a creepy slug who could actually take over your soul, but he shouted with anger,
"WHY DIDN'T YOU KILL HIM WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE?! YOU WERE IN HIS PRESENCE MANY TIMES BEFORE, I CAN SENSE HIS PRESENCE ON YOU!" I growled, anger bubbling in my chest as I tried to keep fury away from my voice. It was clear he regretted it, it was clear he didn't want the Goon to possess him for 20 years. It was all the Goon's fault. People blame and shun Junjie because the Goon destroyed it using his skill and body, but they didn't understand. I heard Junjie sobbing at night, there wee nights when he woke up screaming and crying about the destruction he did, the people he killed. It was the reason his room was soundproof, so he didn't wake up the others. I could hear it though, but just slightly, because my room was next to his and I'm a deep sleeper when I'm tired, and that's half of the time. I saw Junjie's tears as they dropped on a framed photo, of him, a woman and a girl in his arms as they posed for a photo. I been with him to the Eastern Caverns so he could salvage some of his memories, and I was there because I needed to teleport him there. He wasn't capable of the destruction there, his heart was too pure. Gritting my teeth, I informed Chief Shadow,
"Junjie was innocent. He was possessed by an abnormal, powerful Goon Doc slug. Eli Shane healed him, but before he did, he was possessed by the slug for a short while, until Doc, the Energy Elemental, healed him. That slug was unholy, satanic, against the laws of nature because of Dark Water. The Shadow Clan should ensure everyone's safety against Dark Water, not try to kill anyone on sight!" Unsurprisingly, Chief Shadow was furious at my statement, and he snarled,
"I have trained you for the majority of your life, I have generously taken you in as my pupil, and this is my reward. No matter. I will kill him by myself!" I couldn't contain my anger anymore, and I shouted in Shadowise,
"HE WAS INNOCENT!" Using my gravity powers, I pushed him against the wall, and I shot my Rammstone, Thunder at him, and I smiled at he got hit by the slug. He got up, and growled at me before charging towards me. I shot Heatstroke to the ground, who made a fire wall around me. He hopped back onto my shoulder and I teleported away. I arrived at the front door of the mansion I lived in with Cyan, Slugcat, Valdezi, and Junjie. He came to live with us because the Shane Hideout was too noisy for him to concentrate, and we needed an adult to stay in here with us so we'll have someone to sign stuff like electric and water bills, installments to our house. But he was probably out on the mission with the Shane Gang. I took my house key from my pocket and opened the door, which led to a living room with a flat-screen TV and a huge indoor balcony, where 7 doors stood. One for my room, one for Valdezi's room, one for Cyan's room, one for Slugcat's room, and one for Junjie's, the other two being guest rooms. Cyan paced around in the room, her hazel brown hair streaked with cyan blue was tied up into a ponytail. She saw me out of the corner of her cyan blue eyes and turned to me and asked,
"What took you so long?" I put my head in my hands and massaged my head as I told her,
"It's a long story, and it's a bad one too." She ruffled my hair and stated,
"Hey, I'll see how bad the story is. That's what friends are for." We both sat down, and I started my story.
"So I got chased into a forest, and I defeated them with Shocker." I praised Shocker, gesturing to the Tazerling in a canister in my bandoleer. Cyan smiled and Shocker smiled with glee as she hopped out of my canister and into her hand.
"She's one of the slugs we rescued a few days ago, right?" I nodded, and Cyan stroked Shocker with her index finger.
"Thanks for saving this reckless flopper, Shocker. She's too risk takey for her own good."
Leo S: Why is this so accurate
JBV: Ikr
I playfully glared at her, and she stuck her tongue out as she let Shocker go okay with the other slugs.
"Continue your story, what happened after that?" Cyan asked, and I continued.
"After that, a Shadow Clan member appeared in front of me, and I told him that I was tired and to tell me whatever I needed to know quickly, but it did some voodoo shit and made me go unconscious." Silence followed, before Cyan asked,
"And?" I proceeded,
"When I woke up, Shaden told me that I was to be the Unbeatable Master after Shanai to prevent chaos-" Cyan's eyes widened and she sat up and hollered,
"YOU'RE GONNA BE THE UNBEATABLE MASTER-" I hastily shushed her, not wanting everyone else to know.
"Yeah, but can you keep it down?! I don't want everyone hearing it! Plus, I turned down the offer!" I whispered, and her mouth formed into an "o" before I continued.
"So he said that and I refused and asked Junjie to take my place, but he started shunning Junjie, and saying all sorts of crap, that he disgraced his bloodline, that he wasn't worthy, a lot of bullshit about Junjie, basically. And he asked me why I didn't kill him, and I said that the Goon possessed him, and he didn't believe me, and after he shunned me because I supported Junjie I shot him with a few slugs and teleported here." Cyan frowned, and she whispered,
"You slugged the leader of the Shadow Clan?!" I nodded and she announced with heavy sarcasam,
"Well, good for you, because you know him, he'll kill you and Junjie in your sleep. Wonderful!" She leaned back on the couch, and exclaimed,
"Well, that was a good story. Slugcat's in the training grounds, and Valdezi's swimming in the pool, Junjie's in his room, if you're gonna look for them. Go take a bath, and don't kill yourself in the process, okay?" I nodded, and went to my room. I took out my hair tie and let my light brown hair flow freely. I put my blaster on the desk and stripped off my bandoleer and threw it aside. I took off my shoulder and knee pads, and put them in my closet, and lastly, I put my backpack for my slugs on the chair in front of my desk, and took off my running shoes and threw my socks in the laundry basket. I collapsed on my bed, thinking to myself. How could Chief Shadow accuse Junjie of being a disgrace to his bloodline, when it clearly wasn't his fault? When he was just an innocent victim of a creature who just so happened to be the Defender of the East?
"Ally? You in there?" I heard Junjie's voice ask, and I responded,
"Yeah, just came back, why?" Junjie replied,
"Okay, good. We're ordering pizza and the Shane Gang's coming over, what do you want?" I answered,
"Chicken pepperoni, thanks!" I sighed to myself and got out of my bed, gathered some clothes and a towel before I locked myself in the bathroom and took a bath.
Eli's POV
We whooped and cheered all the way home, our seemingly impossible mission succeeded without a single flaw. All that intel was worth it. All the hours Leo and I stayed up late, the meals everyone skipped at least once, the endless practice drills. And the red cheeks by Leo and Alana told me they had their first kiss. Talk about the heat of the moment. According to Trixie and Glynss, who were in charge of disabling the security cameras in the place, it was quite heated. Anthony parted ways with us after we conpleted the mission, but Glynss was really the woman of the night. She dueled Emily and Pyrono Blakk herself, and defeated both of them without a single scratch, then she deactivated the gates, which opened and let everyone else in.
"But did you see how Glynss annihilated that ghoul?! Come on guys, that stunt was on point, she took a Megamorphed Grimmstone down using her legs! Her legs!" Ashley said in amazement, and Glynss responded,
"I was acting on instinct, I swear, I had no idea I could do that!" Kord grinned and stated,
"At least you know now!" We all agreed, and I glanced at Leo, and smiled to see that Alana and he were having a little moment. I decided to mess around with them, but before I could, John asked Leo,
"Leo, why don't you tell us of your little moment with Alana? Trix said it was smoking hot, but was it, really?" Leo glared at John, who grinned in response. Alana hung her head low, trying unsuccessfully to hide the blush creeping up to her cheeks. Leo put his head in his hands and muttered,
"I hate you all..." We all laughed at Leo's expression, which was flushed red, similar to Alana's expression.
"At least I didn't give dead roses to a girl." Leo retorted back to John, and the girls looked at John with disbelief and slight disgust. The guys looked at him with amazement, and Junjie exclaimed,
"You gave dead roses to a girl?!" Now it was John's turn to blush, and he reasoned,
"Hey, it wasn't my fault her Flatulorinkus slug killed those roses!" We all laughed, and we could all tell that John wanted to be angry, but he started laughing too, and in seconds, we all were laughing nonstop for a few minutes, and in those few minutes, I felt perfect. Everyone happy and joking around after a humongous victory, like we were normal teenagers after a day of fun. The moment was perfect.
Until I heard multiple screams and the sound of slugs being shot.
"Guys, did you hear that?" Ashley asked, and Trixie nodded. Leo said,
"Well, we can't just stay here, we have to help!" He revved up his mecha beast and rode towards the screams of terror, and all of us followed. And the amount of destruction stabbed me inside as I saw all the helpless citizens, some in tears over bodies, some being attacked by men in a famliar, yet gruesome uniform. And one person leading them, a woman with red streaks in her coal black, stringy hair tied up in a messy ponytail and eyes as red as blood made my fists clench, my blood boil as I saw Dana Blakk leading the invasion. I hated all Blakks, this one especially. She got most of the Dark Water for the ghouling processes, she tries to kill Alana countless times and nearly succeeded once, and most of all, she stabbed Leo in the gut, and I thought he was dead, I thought he was gone for good as I paced around in the hospital. I remembered Leo's unconscious, limp form propped up against a white wall, Dana's dagger embedded in his stomach, and her name written in his blood on the otherwise gleaming white wall. I remembered sobbing outside the emergency surgery room, Alana, Trixie, Junjie and Kord comforting me, John and Glynss scolding Pronto for mentioning Leo's death, Ashley on the phone with Ally, who arrived immediately after his surgery with the rest of the Authors, although they just finished a few missions in a row. Leo's wound healed up fine, but both of us detested Dana even more, and Leo already hated her more than Alana did. After that, I did everything I could to at least injure Dana, break a bone, leave a scar, shoot her with Doc.
"Dammit, not her...." Ashley muttered, voicing out everyone's thoughts. We all rode towards the destruction, and Leo jumped from his mecha beast and onto his feet, and started fighting soldiers, dousing fires and helping kids. We all dismounted and immediately, soldiers slugged me with all their might, and I gavd the signal to my mecha to move out of danger. As I dueled the guards, they chased me into a building in extreme disrepair. I dodged and deflected countless ghouls, nearly escaping a hit from a Goon Doc, and all of the sudden, I dodged a Hop Jack and heard a scream. I got distracted, but as the woman who screamed was captured by someone I didn't know, I felt a hard blow on my head, and I crumpled to the ground as the pain increased and pounded in my skull. Red and black dots swarmed my vision, and I growled as a blurry Grimmstone snarled at my face.
"ELI!!" I heard a familiar voice yell, and my head snapped up as I saw the blurry image of Leo running towards me, his hair disarray and beaded with sweat, fear written on his face, burns on his hands and holes in his clothes due to him running into collapsing houses, saving citizens. I heard a slug fire, and webs wrapped Leo up and he fell to the ground, unable to move. I heard another slug fire, and I couldn't escape the vines that held me in place, trapped as the vines squeezed the air out of my chest, and blocked my blood circulation. The vines formed a platform and lifted up a familiar, yet foul creature in front of my eyes. Dana Blakk. I heard Leo growl, and he shouted,
"YOU TOUCH HIM AND YOU'RE DEAD, BLAKK! DON'T YOU DARE LAY YOUR FLITHY HANDS ON HIM!" I growled and spit at her face, and I smiled with satisfaction as she backed away with disgust and revolt.
"Eli Shane. Saviour of the 99 Caverns, Hero of Slugterra, et cetera. At my mercy. Oh, have I waited so long." Dana stroked my cheek, and I attempted to bite off her fingers, but she took her hand back before I could. She asked me seductively,
"Your brother's really getting the attention nowadays, am I right? Him being the new Saviour. Does that get to you?" I growled and I retorted,
"Not as much as your amount of stupid." She ignored my remark and snarled,
"Well, say goodbye." She pointed her blaster towards the fragile, stone ceiling, and loaded a Harmashelt. Her finger pulled the trigger, and I screamed. Tears spilled out of my eyes as I see the ceiling in front of me collapsed, and I couldn't do anything but watch.
I watched helplessly as the ceiling collapsed, crushing Leo as it fell to the floor.
Ally: Is it too long .-.
Eli: LENGTH IS NOT A PROBLEM
Eli: THE ENDING IS
John: It looked kinda dragged tho
Ally: I wanted to split this to two but each would be like 1700 words and that's too little so
