we always fight against ourselves,

we fight demons inside us--

selfishness, lust, wrath, hate--

we fight ourselves to regain self control

and we become stronger because of it

but sometimes we attack ourselves,

our nerve endings and cells,

because something's wrong with our body, our brain

and it doesn't make us any stronger
