I go to bed with a black eye. I shouldn't've told Astrid about her yaknog, but I couldn't take it any longer. It needed to stop this year.

I'm upstairs working on Astrid's gift for Snoggletog. I need to let Astrid cool off a little. It's weird not having her beside me, but it will only be for one night. Toothless still sleeps up here, so he keeps me company.

The candle is dimming. I'm still working on the gift. My eyes are growing tired. It's getting late. It's almost midnight. I lay my head in my hands frustrated. I close my eyes and think. It isn't long before I fall asleep.
