SIX

FIVE WEEKS PRIOR

PAISLEY STOOD BESIDE SCOTT, THEIR HANDS INTERTWINED AS THEY STOOD IN front of the gate that lead to the community pool. It was after hours, but the two had wanted to go for a swim. By after hours, meaning that it was well past closing time and that their curfew was two hours ago.

Scott tried picking the lock, but he didn't exactly know how to. The movies made it seem so easy, he thought, so it shouldn't be too hard. He let go of Paisley's hand, trying to get a better grip of the bobby pin in his hand and the gate itself. A green tarp wrapped around the gate, forbidding them to see inside of the area. Scott didn't know why they put it on, but he never really went to the pool. Which was why they didn't have a key to get in.

"Scott, why don't we just use my swimming pool?" Paisley shivered, the cold night air blowing through her hair causing goosebumps to appear all over her body.

"I don't think your dad would like the fact that I'm at your house way past midnight on a school night." He tells her as he jams the pin into the lock. The sound of a crack made him freeze as he realized that he just broke their "key".

"You just broke it, didn't you?" Paisley tried to hide the smile that wanted to fall on her face as she looked at her boyfriend, who was slumping his shoulders as he turned to face her.

"There's always Dairy Queen," he suggests, a small frown on his face.

Paisley shook her head. "I did not put on my bathing suit and sneak out of my house to ride on the handle bars of your bike in the middle of the night on a Thursday just to go get ice scream." She then moved past him and looked at the gate in front of her.

"Then what are we going to do?" Scott asks innocently, looking at the girl in front of him thinking that she was the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. Every time he saw her, it was like the first time. He would get completely awe struck each time, and he loved it. He loved getting the thrill whenever he sees her.  He loved her. And he wanted her to know that.

Paisley quickly turned to look at him, a devious smile on her face. "Boost me up," she directed him suddenly, making him quirk a questioning brow at her.

"We're going to hop the gate?" Scott asks in disbelief.

"Yes," she replied,"is that alright, Lord McCall?"

"Okay, one," he began,"you've been watching too much Game of Thrones. Two, it's more than alright."

A smile spread across the brunette girls face as Scott then took a step forward so that he was directly in front of the gate. He then intertwined his fingers together for her to place her foot in. Getting in a crouched position, the love-sick boy looked at his girlfriend, saying,"Whenever you're ready, Lady Parrish,"

The girls smile couldn't help but grow bigger as she walked forward and placed her hands on each of hold shoulders for support whole she placed one of her feet in his hands. Using all of the strength he could find in himself, Scott slowly began to hoist her up high enough for her to grab hold of the top of the gate.

Her soft hands gripped onto the cold metal of the gate, pulling herself up and lifting one leg over the top. Once one leg was over, she then brought the other over the top as well.  Before she jumped off, Paisley craned her neck to look at Scott— who had a huge grin on his face. "Meet you on the other side," she winked, causing butterflies to erupt in his stomach as she flipped her hair over her shoulder and hopped off the gate.

Scott felt himself get all giddy inside as he watched her. Once she was past the green covering, he was no longer able to admire her, so he quickly shook his head before looking around the area for something that could give him a boost up the gate. There was nothing around but a few trees and a street light. Then, he spotted his bike resting against one of the trees. With a sigh, he walked over to his bike and grabbed it by the handle bars to wheel it over next to the gate.

Setting it up against the gate, Scott gripped the bars of the gate as well and stepped one foot onto the leather seat of his bike. Taking a deep breath, he then set his other foot on the seat as well to hoist himself over the top. Except, just as he was about to, he felt the bike begin to wobble underneath him. He let out a shaky breath, tightening his grip on the bars of the gate and peeked over the ledge.

"Um, Paisley," Scott called out for his girlfriend,"I don't think I can get over,"

"I can try tossing one of the lounge chairs over for you," she suggests as she spun around to look at him, although she knew she wouldn't be able to lift it over her head.

"I don't know, can you find something el— AGH!" He shouts as the bike gave in underneath him and collapsed onto the cement. He still had his arms slung over the ledge, but he was barely hanging on.

"Scott, do you want me to—"

"No," he cut her off,"I'm fine." But to her, it sounded like he wasn't due to the gasps of air he let out.

"Did you bring your inhaler?" She asks him, looking around the pool for something to help him.

"Yeah, i-it's in my pocket," he said whilst slinging his leg over the top of the gate. Before he could bring his other leg over, he leaned over too far on one side and ended up falling off the gate.

The sound of a thud make Paisley spin around to see what was going on, and when she saw Scott on the ground she quickly jogged to where he was.

"Are you okay?" She questioned him urgently as he rolled over to his side to reach into his pocket and grab his inhaler. Paisley watched as he put the red plastic in his mouth and press the silver metal container filled with air down while he sucked in a deep breath.

Removing the inhaler from his mouth, he nodded and said,"Yeah, I'm good."

"Good," she began as she grabbed his hand in hers to lift him on his feet,"because I wouldn't be able to push you uphill on the bike."

The two walked to the nearest lounge chair and began to strip off their clothes. Scott knew it didn't exactly matter if he saw her because it was just her bathing suit, which was meant to be seen by everyone. However, he still didn't want to seem like a pervert or anything so once he took off his shirt and shoes, he faced the other direction until she was ready to get in.

At first, it seemed like a good thing to do, but once he heard her shout,"Last one in is a rotten egg!" and a big splash afterwards, he knew that he should have jumped in the pool instead of waiting.

"Paisley!" Scott cheered, running in the direction of the pool and leaping into the air before landing in the water.

As the two surfaced, their laughs filled the air as they swam towards each other.

"It's so cold," Paisley teeth chattered as she swam to Scott. Her hair was floating all around her, making it seem like, as Lydia would call it, "mermaid hair".

"This was a bad idea," Scott admits, trying not to freeze by how cold the water was.

"The worst," she laughs as she wraps her arms around Scott's neck, bringing herself closer to him.

"Absolutely terrible," he gave her a goofy grin, making her smile. As the two stood in the pool, Scott began to close the space between them by leaning in closer and placing his lips on hers.

Her lips were soft, just like they always were, and tasted like coconuts due to the chapstick she had applied just before they left. While hers were soft, his lips were rough and were in dire need of chapstick of any kind— one of the effects of him riding his bike to school during the winter. It wasn't exactly his choice, his mom needed the car for when she went to work at the hospital. Sometimes, Stiles would give him a ride but he always felt bad.

His fingers tangled in her wet hair, causing her to smile into the kiss. It was moments like this that the two cherished for as long as they could. As if nothing else was going on in the world. That they drowned out everyone and everything around them— causing them not to hear a car door slam shut in the parking lot.

Scott pulled away from the kiss to whisper a quick,"You're so beautiful," before smashing their lips back together. The compliment made butterflies erupt in Paisley's stomach. Usually, it was only her family or Lydia who would tell her that. Which, they weren't wrong. She was absolutely stunning, but no one ever bothered to say anything to her.

As she wrapped her legs around his waist, he brought it upon himself to deepen the kiss by gliding his tongue along her bottom lip. His tongue was eagerly accepted into her mouth as she moaned.

He moved his hands slowly down her sides before taking her hips in a firm grip. The moan he got for that made him purr even louder.

They suddenly broke apart when they both heard a throat clearing from beside the pool. Paisley immediately tore her lips away from Scott to look who was standing there, and when she caught sight of Sheriff Stilinski with his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at the two teenagers in the water, she gulped knowing that they were in trouble.

Scott craned his neck to see what his girlfriend was looking at, but when he saw his best friends dad standing there in his sheriffs uniform with a frown on his face, he tried to look anywhere but at him.

"Do you two have any idea what time it is?" The Sheriff asks the teens, still not able to believe that these were the two that were breaking in.

      "Uh," Scott trailed off,"nine?"

Stilinski pressed his lips into a firm line. "It's almost two in the morning. I get a call to the office saying that there are two people attempting to break into a community pool at almost two in the morning, and it turns out to be you two!" He tosses his hands in the air to emphasize hoe frustrated he was.

"Mr. Stilinski, please," Paisley pushed herself away from Scott and turned her entire body to face the adult before her,"we're so sorry. It won't happen again, just please don't call my dad."

"Paisley," he sighs,"you know me trying to help find your mother is one of my biggest cases right now, and I can't have any distractions. I know you mean well, but next time I find you two out after curfew, especially on a school night, I will have to call your parents. But, this time, I'm letting you off with a warning." He pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance, trying to find it in himself to keep his cool.

"Thank you, so much," Paisley thanked him, earning a look from Scott as he wondered what the Sheriff was talking about.

"Now, get out of the pool and get back home," Stilinski ordered the kids, jabbing his thumb at the gate (which was now unlocked) for them to exit.

Quickly, the two swam towards the stairs and got out of the water, walking to where their clothes were. Paisley put her hair in a quick up-do before tossing her clothes on (Scott following suit) and slipping her sandals back on before walking by Mr. Stilinski to get back onto the handle bars of Scotts bike for him to pedal up the hill to take her back home.

PRESENT

Parker and his sister sat in the backseat of Jackson's Porsche once again, on their way to Allison's house. Paisley didn't know the full story, only that Scott was suppose meet her at her house, but he never showed up. It made Paisley laugh inside, but she wouldn't tell anyone because they would think that she was a terrible friend for laughing at Allison being stood up. Then again, it was her ex boyfriend, so they could see where she was coming from.

She didn't mean to be rude, but she hated seeing her going after Scott. Especially after she said they broke up recently. Paisley though everyone knew that a friends ex was off limits, but apparently the Argent girl didn't. Was she ever going to fight her? No. Paisley knew not to make so much drama over a guy, and certainly not one that broke her heart. Which, she still was confused about. She was still waiting for him to at least tell her the reason behind him ending things with her. He probably would never tell her, because the only time the two have spoken was at lunch when he practically hurt her feelings even more.

Lydia wasn't exactly encouraging the relationship between Scott and Allison, but she wasn't going to stop it. As much as she knew it hurt her best friend, she knew that either way even if Allison wasn't with him, she would still be heartbroken.

"I don't see why we can't just go get froyo like you said we were." Paisley complained, leaning her head against the window as they drove through the neighborhood to find Allison's house.

"We will once we get Allison," Lydia tells her best friend. She knows how she feels about Allison, but she wanted the two to put aside the boy drama and just be good friends. "Speaking of, Jackson, can you call her?"

Jackson didn't reply, and instead pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed her number. After a few seconds, her muffled voice was heard on the other end of the line. "Lydia says we're coming to get you," he says into the phone as he turned a corner to go down a street lined with even more houses.

A sigh passed through Paisley's lips, catching the attention of her brother. While he hasn't really spoken to Allison all that much, he wasn't exactly a big fan of the girl for hurting his sister. Not physically, more mentally. Either way, he thought that the girls should at least talk about the whole dilemma instead of having some sort of silent feud that only one really knew about. Inviting Paisley to go bowling with her ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend wasn't a good move and tried to make it seem as if Allison were showing off, Parker thought.

To be honest, Parker didn't fully understand girls. Especially his sister sometimes. Her motives were unclear and made little sense to him, but he didn't question her. Instead, he just let her do her thing in hopes of her figuring out the situation.

"We're picking you up," Jackson said firmly, pulling up to Allison's house. She stood out front on the sidewalk, her phone pressed against her ear. "Too late," Jackson spoke into he phone before hanging up and pulling the car up beside her. The headlights flashed on her, causing Allison to turn around and look at the teenagers that filled the car. He then rolled down the window to talk to the girl. "Lydia gets what Lydia wants. Now get in so we can stop by his place and see if he's there."

Paisley paid no attention, looking out the window on her side that faced the house. Parker glanced at his sister, then at Allison before shaking his head and saying,"Um, there isn't exactly any room back here."

"Then make some," Lydia replied, looking at the eldest Parrish in the rearview mirror. At the same time, Allison's ringtone began to sound. "Is that him with the best explanation of why he's half a freaking hour late?"

Allison looked at her phone in confusion, her brows upturned as she slowly began to frown. "Not exactly,"

"Well, what did he say?" Jackson quirked his brow toward her in question.

Parker leaned forward in the seat, seeing the girl outside the car shake her head a bit before she said,"Can you take me to the school?"

"Uh, sure," Jackson drawled out. He sounded unsure of his answer, yet he agreed anyway as he began to take off his seatbelt and get out of the small car for Allison to climb into the backseat with the Parrish siblings.

Knowing his sister wouldn't want to sit by her at the moment, Parker scooted over so that Allison sat by the window (although she had one leg on his lap because there wasn't enough room in the back for the two girls and boy). When they were all strapped in, Jackson adjusted the rearview mirror before making a U-turn to get out of the neighborhood and drive to Beacon Hills High School.

dedicated to voidlust bc why not

thanks for 1.36k reads!!! the beginning part (like the 5 weeks prior thing) is a part of the whole plot development, so there is going to be some more flashback types of their relationship, leading up to why it ended. but I'm already on episode 7 and it's only the sixth chapter lol I gotta slow down and expand out more. and if I'm making Allison seem like a bitch, I don't really mean to. It's just a part of the whole plot and her actions will be explained later on
