lix.
̶ ̶ lix. WHEN WILL MY BODY FEEL LIKE HOME?
she lays in dirty pebbles
tracing the body she finds discomfort in
wondering why the sun still shines on her
why her lungs still take in oxygen
why she still hurts this much when you've
been gone for so long.
she wants a way out
out of it all
out of the house she's forced to call home
out of the cage her soul is trapped in
out of the madness of her own mind.
she hates herself more than you do
the marks on her ankles
her forearms still recovering
the acne that coats her cheeks
the fat that hangs over the band of pants.
the way her eyes blur so easily when she finds
her reflection in a broken mirror.
she's the ghost of a young girl longing
for something more than just this shell of
insecurity.
