Chapter 31

Humming a soft tune to myself, I stand at the kitchen counter while slicing up some onions and peppers for the chilli con carne I'm about to make for the twins, Shoto and Momo. My eyes focusing on the vegetables in front of me as I dice the onion into little cubes and slice the pepper into small squares as well. On the hob, the mince is cooking away. The fat melting off the meat and giving it flavour while I add the chopping vegetables to another pan to let them fry and sweat off before I make the actual chilli mixture and simmer it. A faint giggle leaving my lips as I move around the kitchen.

In the living room, giggling between each other, sits the twins. Ryoku in his Dynamight onesie, babbling to his brother about how cool his Uncle Kacchan is while Kōri sits in his Deku onesie fiddling with his teddy bear with a faint hum. Both of them relaxing and winding down in the living room, trying to keep themselves occupied after spending the day at home doing absolutely nothing. The pair of them ended up spending the whole day off school after Kōri started sneezing snowflakes and Ryoku threw up fire into the toilet...

Isn't Quirk Manifestation just the best time ever?...

So, I ended up being stuck with two children who have just manifested their quirks! Shoto literally ran out the room to tell his whole family, leaving me with the twins as soon as I stepped foot into the house. Momo gave me a list of things to complete to help the boys with their homework through out the day before escaping the house with the excuse that Kyoka wanted her with her for her sonogram. Which left me, who has the high school degree in child development, to deal with the newly quirked children who are literally walking disasters at the moment!

I spent most of the morning with the fire extinguisher! Putting out each and every fire that Ryoku had created (I was so close to spraying that kid with the fire extinguisher!). I had to wrap the kid in a fire proof blanket so he didn't cause a house fire (luckily most of the house is fireproof due to Shoto) or burn me. Then, I spent most of the afternoon trying to sweep up the snow that managed to arrive every time that Kōri took a step. Then Kōri kept sneezing making snowflakes go everywhere! Fire and Ice.

The perfect combination...

Today has just been so hectic and tiring... that I just want to go to my boyfriends place, cuddle in bed watching cringe movies while stuffing my face with takeout. Maybe even wear Katsuki's hoodie and some cute socks...

After the mince has been cooked properly and I removed the fat from the pan so it didn't stay in the chilli, I add the mince with the stock and tomato puree and canned tomatoes. The vegetables added as well. Once everything is in the pot, I begin to stir the contents and let it all infuse. I turn the heat down to low, letting the food simmer while I turn to the rice cooker to begin cooking the rice.

"(Y/n)! Kōri sneezed again!"

Cursing under my breath, I set down the wooden spoon and head into the living room. I immediately kneel in front of Kōri who's holding his red little button nose with a small sniffle. Slowly, I take his hands into mine to have a look at his little nose where little icicles have appeared making me coo gently. Clearing my throat, I gently touch his nose to see how cold it is. Kōri whimpers under my touch as I slowly grab a hot water bottle and hold it to his nose gently to melt the ice.

Once the ice is somewhat thawed, I gently remove the icicles and place them in the sink to melt. I kiss Kōri's nose gently when it's finished and pull him into my arms when he makes grabby hands toward me. Ryoku giggles to himself while snuggling into my other side as I head back into the kitchen to start the rice again. Ryoku wraps his hand around my pant leg as I turn on the rice cooker and set Kōri on the island before sitting his brother beside him.

"Can we have soba?" Ryoku asks looking around the kitchen as I check up on the chilli and season it with a couple of herbs, "Pretty please?"

"No, you had soba for lunch, you have chilli con carne for dinner," I tell him before dodging the inferno of flames that he sneezes out with a small yelp. My eyes widening slightly as I look toward Ryoku who laughs covering his mouth, "Cheeky little shit aren't you?"

"Swear jar!" Kōri squeaks with a giggle, pointing toward the little jar that the family made for Katsuki and Shoto since those two are the ones that always slip up in front of the twins, "Gotta put a coin in there!"

"Yes Kōri," I hum, dropping a coin into the jar before turning back to Ryoku to check his nose and make sure he hasn't burnt anything on himself, "You okay? You aren't hurt?"

"Nope, I'm okay! I'm strong like Uncle Kacchan!" Ryoku cheers with a giggle and squeals when the front door opens and said uncle Kacchan walks in holding a couple of brown paper grocery bags, "Uncle Kacchan!"

"Hey squirt, your dad tells me you got your quirks," Katsuki grins, pulling the twins into his arms and laughing as they cling to him excitedly and begin to babble all about their quirks, "What you got? Anything that can kick your dads butt?"

"I got ice!" Kōri chirps as he fiddles with his blonde locks and nuzzles into his neck with a faint laugh when I lean against the counter with my arms crossed over my chest, "Like daddy's right side!"

"And I got fire!" Ryoku chirps throwing his hands out and laughing as a fury of flames flies across the kitchen and sets fire to the table. The boy covering his mouth with a cheesy grin making Katsuki snort while I grab the extinguisher and put it out, "It's so cool! We're like daddy and grandpa and grandma! We're gonna kicks villain butt!"

"Yeah you are!" Katsuki encourages, hyping the pair of them up as he sets them on their feet and lets them rush back into the living room to watch tv. A pair of arms wrap around my midsection making me giggle as I lean into his toned chest, "And how are you, Baby Face? Rough day?"

"You have no idea," I tell him as I rest my head against his shoulder and take a deep breath. My eyes closing as his rubs circles on my hips and kisses my cheek, "Please never let Shoto have any more kids... I am begging you,"

"Well, hopefully our kids will be better than that," Katsuki mumbles making me frown gently, gulping anxiously before giggling it off and snuggling into his warmth. Kids were the last thing on my mind! Babysitting is enough! I just wanted to shrug that off, knowing that he wouldn't expand on that topic further, "When are you able to go home?"

"Shoto finishes around now so he should be home soon with Momo," I explain while I turn around in his arms and wrap my arms around his neck to pull him into a kiss, "Then we can go home and relax,"

"Sounds perfect," Katsuki coos kissing my nose gently before arching a brow when we both hear the twins speaking to someone, "Who are they talking to?"

Shaking my head confused, I pull away and head into the living room with my hands at the ready. Katsuki close behind me before stopping in the middle of the hallway and yanking me behind him so he's the first one into the living room just in case there is someone in there. The male looks toward me and kisses my temple as I shake my head before following him into the living room and frowning when I see no one in the living room. Who could the twins be —

Oh god...

As soon as I look toward the twins, they're both sitting there with my phone! The two of them giggling as they are on FaceTime with my mother of all people! Gawking in horror, I take my phone from Kōri and curse under my breath as my mother squeals at the sight of me. The twins giggling between each other while Katsuki watches with a playful grin on his lips.

"(Y/n)! There you are! I was wondering where you were, are those the boys you babysit?" My mother asks as I sit down on the couch and nod with a bright red face. My mom giggling as I clear my throat, "They're so cute! How are you, honey? You having a good day?"

"Y — yeah, I'm okay," I tell her nervously as I look toward Katsuki who chuckles and sticks his tongue out at me while I flip him off and turn back toward my mom, "How's everything at home? You and dad okay?"

"Yeah, we're okay. Your father is always being the workaholic but he's good," My mom replies as she beams brightly toward me and notices Katsuki in the background before pulling the camera close to her face to make sure, "Is this the boyfriend that I'm not allowed to know about?! He's so cute, (Y/n)!"

"Mom! Oh my —" I whine, covering my face while Katsuki chuckles and sits next to me wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close, "What did you call for again?"

"Oh! That's right! Your father and I were wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner next week?" She explains as she looks toward Katsuki and I with a bright smile. Katsuki holding my phone so I don't hang up on my mom, "Your vacations coming up and we haven't seen you for a while and with the whole villain thing happening we just —"

"Yeah mom, that's great," I tell her softly while she sags in relief and smiles toward my father who's popping into the kitchen for a quick drink, "Can Katsuki come?"

"If he wants to, I'm more than happy to add an extra seat to the table," My mom beams, giggling when Katsuki kisses my temple and I curl into a pit of embarrasskent, "How does next Saturday work? I'll make a roast dinner, you can bring desserts?"

"That sounds great, Mrs (L/n)," Katsuki says making me whine while my mother gushes and speaks to dad how kind Katsuki is, "We'll be there,"

"Perfect! I better let you get back to babysitting," Mom says happily while I nod and take the phone off my boyfriend to say goodbye to my mother who giggles when I walk into the kitchen, "He's really hot, sweetie, you got yourself a keeper there,"

"Mom! Oh my god!" I groan, setting the phone down on the side to check the chilli and the rice with a small hum, "We've been dating for a couple months,"

"Honey, this is the first boyfriend you've had that I actually like, you hold onto that," Mom says making me snort to myself and nod to her while she clears her throat and smiles, "Now I better go! Have to plan a dinner! We'll see you next week!~"

"Bye mom, love you," I hum, blowing a kiss to the phone and waving her goodbye before she hangs up before slumping against the kitchen counter and releasing a groan, "Katsuki Bakugo! I am going to kill you!"

"What did I do?"...

"You spoke to my mom! Now she's planning our wedding!"...

"Well at least I know I'll have your moms blessing, Baby Face, your last name is something I wanna replace with my own~"...
