Ryan's P.O.V

/ / / /

I sat in the back of the tiny car muttering quiet profanities about my lack of space whilst on the way to pick up my Nan and her crazy carer. I wasn't aloud to take the car alone to pick up my Nan because of how I 'reacted' to Cindy's pregnancy. According t my Dad, it was rude and uncalled for. She insisted on me going alone but he wouldn't have any of it.  If only he'd known I apologised to her when he went out the next day. It was the first time i'd ever had a proper conversation with Cindy and it turned out okay.

"Are we there yet?"

"Does it look like we're there yet Ryan?"

"I don't know. I don't remember what her house looks like." I mumbled annoyingly. My Dad sighed at me before he turned the radio up to block out my persistent whining. I shut my eyes to try and sleep but couldn't. We had made slight progress since the news of Cindy's pregnancy. I was still mad and didn't know how to feel about it, but my Dad had actually approached me and started conversation, albeit it was about picking up my Nan but it was something.

"Are we there yet?"

"No, Ryan. You just asked."

I sighed and looked out the window. I hated being bored and everyone knew I became annoying when I was bored.

"Are we there yet?" I asked with a slight smirk as I laid on the seats in the back of the car without my seat belt on.

"No, Ryan. Just...Just shut-up!" I glared at my Dad when he shouted at me where as Cindy just looked at him in disappointment.                                                                                                                         "What?" He asked me when he saw that I was glaring at him through the rear-view mirror.

I just ignored him.

"What, Cindy?" He asked her angrily when she stared at him with her lips turned down.

"Look at the road! Keeps your eyes on the - Ah!" She ducked, one hand over her head, the other rested on her stomach protectively.

"Christ!"

"For God's sake Dad! When did you take your driving test? In 1805?" I asked him angrily, he could have killed us. And that was the second time in the hour we had been in the car.

"Ryan I suggest you shut your mouth boy!" He shouted at me and Cindy flinched. I glared again and looked at him intimidatingly.

"Pull. Over." I gritted.

"What?"

"Pull. Over."

"What? No-"

"Pull over because you obviously don't know how to drive!" I shouted at him.

"Ryan! Don't speak to me like that bef-"

"Just pull over god dammit!" Cindy screeched at my dad.

"Alright, jeez. Calm yourself!" My Dad said to Cindy and so she whacked him around the head and he flinched in pain whilst he pulled over.

I got out of the car and walked over to his door. I opened it for him but he looked blankly at me.

"Get out then." I said coldly. He glared at me but did what I said and sat in the back whilst I took his spot in the front.

"Man we need a bigger car." He grumbled and I rolled my eyes.

"I've been saying that for the last hour." I growled and started driving.

Before I knocked on my Nan's door it opened and I was hit by a small frame.

"Ryan! What are you doing here? Your Nan told me it was just your parents coming. Oh what a nice surprise!"

I peeled her arms off of me before I glared at her.

"Anastasia." I said coldly and she looked up at me with wide eyes.

"What's wrong with you?" She asked with a concerned expression on her face. She put her hands on my shoulders in what was meant to be a comforting gesture but just came across as creepy.

"You." I muttered and pushed her away from me lightly before walking in, her hot on my tail as we followed Cindy and my Dad. She laughed crazily.

"Don't be silly! You're so funny Ryan! This is why I love you!"

"And yet I don't love you. How funny." I said with no emotion as I walked into the living room where my Nan was. Anastasia grabbed my hand and I tried to pull mine from hers but she gripped it harder and dug her nails into my skin.

Why did she not get a hint?

I couldn't even let her hold my hand just for the sake of shutting her up because it didn't feel right. It didn't feel good. It didn't feel like her hand fit perfectly in mine. Her skin wasn't smooth and soft to the touch, her nails weren't painted a dark colour. She didn't grip my hand like she was scared to loose me.

She wasn't Amelia.

I saw Cindy's eyebrow's furrow when she spotted our hands together and a look of disgust passed across her face when she looked at Anastasia.

"Get the fu*k off of me you weirdo." I growled at her and ripped my hand away.

"Oh how I do love when you're angry." She muttered to me before she leant up and whispered in my ear. "You look hot when you're angry or annoyed. Or all the time actually."

"And you look the darkest shade of crazy whenever you're near me so please, go paint yourself a different colour and leave me alone." I growled at her and walked up to my Nan.

"Hi, Nan." I said and gave her a hug.

"Hi Ryan. We need to talk. What's this your friend tells me about you smoking?"She asked knowingly.

"It was one cigarette. I've been stressed."

"It's no excuse."

"I know and I'm sorry but you don't understand."

"Then tell me."

"It's not that simple."

"He got into an argument with his near girlfriend and hasn't heard from her in two weeks and is worried about her because she won't pick up anyone's calls or answer anyone's texts." Cindy said and supplied my Nan with the information I didn't want her knowing.

Yes, when I apologised to Cindy we had a bit of a heart to heart and I told her about my predicament with Amelia.

"Aw Hunny. But there's still no excuse you silly boy!"

"I know, okay, I'm sorry." I said and sighed when I saw Anastasia walk over.

"Ryan, you've been smoking? Why? What's wrong darling?"

"For god sake just leave me the hell alone." I had growled out at her venomously as she cowered back in fear. I put my hands on my head to try and calm myself down but it didn't work.

"Ryan, I-"

"Leave!" I boomed at her and she sat down and looked to her lap.

"Ryan! Don't be so horrible to her all-"

"No, I've had enough. She is crazy! She pesters me whenever I see you and she has even stolen my phone to get my phone number. I had to go and buy a new phone! She is crazy and I don't care if I sound harsh or rude or anything when I speak to her because she does not get the hint that I am not interested in her at all! It pisses me off so much! I can't be dealing with her right now!" I stressed and everyone looked at me wearily.

"But Ryan-"

"But what, Anastasia? I don't fancy you. I don't want to date you. Leave me alone."

"But I kissed you a few years back and you kissed back and-"

"It was one kiss, Anastasia. One kiss. Do you know how many girls I have kissed since then? I'm sorry if I lead you on but I have moved on, okay? I have the girl I love sitting somewhere back home right now angry at me because I had ago at her for something she didn't do and I need to talk to her. But instead I'm here dealing with you. I'm sorry, okay. But I can't. You need to move on." I said, and for some, stupid reason, my voice cracked when I talked about Amelia. I slumped onto the sofa behind me and put my head in my hands. "F*ck." I whispered.

"You really love her, huh?" My Nan asked and I nodded solemnly.

"Unfortunately, yes."

"Why is it unfortunate?" Anastasia asked in a soft tone, even though there were slight tears in her eyes.

"Because she doesn't make it easy." I said quietly but then stood up and wiped my eyes slightly.

Did I even have any pride left?

"Anyway, we best get going before it gets dark." I said coldly and stormed out to the car; leaving everyone completely flabbergasted...

The next day:

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.Tap.

TAP.TAP.TAP.TAP.

"I'm coming! Keep your hair on!" I shouted at whoever was at the door, persistently tapping until someone answered. Everyone was out at some breakfast but I decided to sleep in instead.

Well, until someone started knocking at my door that was.

I opened the front door just in my boxers and my hair all over the place just to be greeted by a short brunette girl with wavy hair.

"Can I help you?" I asked her coldly, a glare set on her.

"Ryan, who's at the door?" Someone called and I groaned when I realised that Anastasia was still here.

Why didn't she just answer the door?

"Who are you?" She asked the girl standing at the door, who sneered when she looked at her.

"I would ask the same for you but frankly that would be wasting my time-"

"How is it?" Anastasia cut off the brunette girl's sentence.

"Well, animals are at the bottom of what's important in my life." The brunette girl said smoothly whilst looking at Anastasia with a not-so-guilty look.

"I-" Anastasia huffed but couldn't find anything to say so stormed off.

"Bye." The girl at the door waved sarcastically. I smirked at her.

"I'm Ryan." I said and put my hand out for her to shake. She looked down at it before breathing in sharply and simply walking in.

"I know. I'm coming in."

I glared at her back as she walked and took me to my kitchen.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Georgina. And no once can know I was here. Especially not Amelia."

"How do you know Amelia?" I asked her suspiciously. She simply smirked at me before winking.

"It's none of your business. Although I'm sure you'll find out soon. But anyway-"

The girl was sketchy on so many different levels but I needed to know who she was to Amelia and why she was in my house.

"-back to the main reason I'm here. You need to go to Amelia's house and apologise for whatever you did that has her acting this way. You need to make her happy again. Start talking to her and hanging out with her. Because her being around all the time like she is is ruining the main reason I'm here. So sort your act out, 'BadBoy'." She said before she started to walk out of my house.

"Wait! What are you talking about? What you're here for? What? And how do you know Amelia?" I shouted after her intimidatingly but she simply kept walking until a car pulled up down the street and she got inside.

All my thoughts consisted of were curse words and 'what the hell?'
