I walked out of the interviewing room, drained. All it had been today was questions.

It wasn't exactly how I was planning to spend my birthday, but I knew it had to be done.

Ryan stood up when he noticed me walk out. He held his arms open and I rushed into them. He hugged me tight and I hugged him back. I had mascara down my face, they didn't even give me time to sort my appearance out before they took me here and started to ask me questions.

They wanted to know everything about Gilbert. Everything from the time he fostered me to now. I told them. I wanted him gone, forever and I knew it would only be possible if I didn't keep secrets from the Police. Ryan helped me a lot. He told me that I had to tell them everything, even about Prince, Parker and Poppy. I was lucky and didn't get in trouble for it. I didn't get in trouble for anything, actually.

Once the Police had turned up to my house and had arrested Gilbert a few Officers stayed behind until the ambulance turned up. We all had bloody faces and even though Derek and Cher assured them that an ambulance wasn't needed they insisted on getting us all checked out. Ryan had stood up, pulled me up from my position I was in on the floor and dragged me to the ambulance first. They only patched me up, wiped away the blood and made sure I didn't have any broken bones. It was all they could do. Cher went next, nothing was wrong. The only reason she had blood on her was because she headbutted Gilbert.

I still couldn't get over that.

Ryan and Derek had bloody noses, and were sure to have a few bruises but it wasn't anything they hadn't dealt with before. After they made sure we were okay they rushed us to the Police Station to interview us about what happened. All of our parents were called but didn't see the need to turn up unless we were in trouble.

It wasn't very often they got calls from the Police telling them their children did good things.

We were all interviewed separately, but Ryan and I were the ones they wanted to interview most. I was asked if I knew that Ryan and the guys had a plan to catch Gilbert. I told them truthfully that I didn't. I was interviewed last, and it took the longest but no one minded and they all waited for me.

Ryan kept his hold on me for a while and when I pulled away I kissed him. We both had slightly busted lips but I didn't care.

He had kept his promise. He got me out of the mess I was in.

"What was that for?" He asked as I pulled away.

"You saved me." I whispered and he pulled me in for a hug again.

"No, I made sure he was there so that we could catch him. The only reason he was there was because we lured him." Ryan explained and I looked up at him, confused.

"What?"

"It's not as bad as it sounds. We messaged him off of some cheap phone telling him that we knew everything that he had done, we knew he would get scared and blame it on you. He would confront you about it in your house, so we set up cameras in your bedroom to record it all. Luckily you guys followed the plan and went there." Ryan chuckled slightly but I couldn't find it in me to laugh. Ryan noticed. "We knew you'd end up fighting, but we couldn't jump in straight away. We had to wait until we knew no one else would turn up and shoot us or something. Aaron, Tommy and Cher's brother scouted for any of Gilbert's men and Jade and Jimmy watched from the back. We communicated through phones. Gilbert had one guy and the boys managed to find out that no one else would come. They knocked him out then stole his phone and made sure no one would know Gilbert needed back-up. As we came into your room Tommy called the police. The only reason we really fought so hard was to make sure he didn't run away before the police got there. And because I wanted to kill him for putting his hands on you." Ryan explained. I was shocked. It was a plan so advanced and smart that I wouldn't have ever been able to come up with it.

"How did you guys come up with that?" I asked. He chuckled.

"It was mostly Jade and Cher's idea."

"Mostly Jade's." Cher interrupted. Aaron was at her side with his arm around her waist.

"Wow." I murmured. I owed Jade a lot. "Thank you. All of you. You all risked your lives for me and I couldn't be more grateful." I said. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat and tried to wipe away the tears in my eyes but I couldn't. I started to cry and Cher hugged me. Then Aaron. Then Ryan. Derek, Tommy and Jimmy crowded around me too. It was one big group hug. I laughed but was still crying.

Mostly from happiness.

Partly from being overwhelmed with everything.

"I love you guys so much." I said as I tried to hug them all.

"We love you too Amelia." Tommy said. I smiled. We hugged for a while before Jimmy complained it was hurting his arms. Ryan pulled away last.

"I love you." I whispered as he moved away from me. He smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

"I love you too, will you come with me, for 5 minutes?" He asked and I nodded. Cher winked at me as Ryan pulled me towards the doors of the Station. I laughed. Ryan pulled us out and stopped in front of the doors.

"What are we doing out here?" I asked him. He didn't give me any time to think as he pressed his lips against mine. The kiss was urgent and I kissed him back. He pushed me against the wall and my hands tangled in his hair.

"I love you." He said through kisses.

"I love you too." I said back. He kissed my neck slightly and left one last peck on my lips before he rested his forehead against mine. We were breathing heavily and I didn't move my hands from his hair.

"I know I shouldn't say this right now because the situation we're in is still very messy and not at all romantic. But Amelia, will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked. I froze. Before I could answer he continued. "I know it's not good timing but I need you in my life and I don't want to wait another day to make you mine. You're so amazing and perfect and I don't have a clue what i'd do if I didn't have you in my life. I did this all the wrong way round, I should have asked you on a date and stuff first but I promise-" He stopped and took a breath. "-I promise you that I will. I'll take you on all the dates and day trips you want and we can do all the cheesy couple-y stuff you always see in movies and-"

I pressed my lips against his. It was a quick kiss but it said everything I needed to.

"Of course I will be your girlfriend Ryan." I whispered. He kissed me again. I pulled away. "Best birthday present ever." I whispered. He froze.

"I didn't forget. Your present is at my house." He reassured me and I laughed slightly.

"I'm happier that you didn't forget. I thought you did." I mumbled. He shook his head.

"No, never. I'm sorry about ignoring you but I didn't trust myself not to tell you if I spoke with you. And i'm really sorry that it all happened today, and not another day. But I knew it was today or never." He rambled and I put my finger over his lips to make sure he stayed quiet.

"It's okay. I forgive you. You stopped him, forever now. I don't care what day it is, i'm just glad he's gone." I whispered and he nodded.

"Me too." He said. I heard the click of the camera as his lips pressed against mine. I pulled away and looked towards the sound. It was Cher.

"Aww. Look at them!" She exclaimed. Aaron rolled his eyes. Cher smirked. "You know what this means don't you?" She asked him and he groaned.

"I'll pick you up at 8 on Friday." He muttered and stomped back into the station. I laughed.

I didn't know what that was about but I laughed anyway.

I didn't just laugh because their situation was funny. I laughed because I was happy. I laughed because I was free.

I laughed because I could live happily ever after after all.
