Amelia's P.O.V:

I walked for long enough that I couldn't even guess how long i'd been walking for. I was upset and tired. I almost felt betrayed. It's not fun to fight. Whether that be with your friends, your family or some random stranger in the street. And it doesn't matter if it's physical or verbal either. Fights are draining and fights leave scars. Whether those scars are able to be seen or are inside of you depends on the situation. But they hurt nevertheless. And fighting with someone who you trust, who you rely on and who you would take multiple bullets for is one of the worst fights you could ever encounter in your life. Fighting with Derek was like fighting with myself. He was always there for me, through everything that happened. He was there whenever I needed him and there even when I thought I had no one at all. Albeit he does not know every single aspect of my life, he knows most of them. And the fact he knows that much about me makes a bond between us that could never be broken. So yes, I felt betrayed that he didn't want to see me, for whatever reason that was, but at the end of the day, he'll always be there when I need him, and vice versa. So by the time I stopped walking I had slightly forgiven Derek for what he had done, though not completely. Hence why I didn't want to call him when I realised I was in some long, pitch black alley in the middle of nowhere.
I took my phone out and scrolled through my contacts. Who to call...
I shook my head at multiple people on my contact list and stopped at the R section.
Ryan.
I hit the call button only to be greeted with one of the most annoying messages.
'I'm sorry but you don't have any credit. To top up please press-'
I sighed and hung up. I didn't need to hear the rest, I'd heard it so many times before. I slid down the wall I was leaning on and rested my head in my hands.
"Damn it!" I groaned and punched the wall behind me. I shook my hand out afterwards.
Stupid idea Amelia. Now you're bleeding.
I heard someone walk down the alley towards me and I sat still, wanting to blend into the shadows. The person sat down next to me and I froze.
"You know talking to yourself is the first sign of madness right?" I jumped as a husky voice whispered in my ear. I breathed out in relief when I realised who it was. I turned around and came face to face with Ryan, a cocky smirk was resting on his face.
"Shut up. You scared the daylights out of me." I whispered back to him, my breaths were heavy.
"You'll always be safe when you're around me babe." He whispered back huskily and I swallowed.
Screw you Ryan for being so attractive.
I had the urge to lean forwards and kiss him again but decided against it.
"You really want to kiss me don't you?" He asked and I looked at him.
"What makes you say that?"
"You keep looking at my lips and not my eyes."
"Shut- up. Why would I want to kiss you?" I scoffed and turned away. I mentally slapped myself; why am I letting him control my emotions and wants?
"You want a repeat of earlier obviously." He muttered and I turned back to him as I laughed.
"In your dreams Badboy."
"Oh it will be don't you worry BadGirl."
I couldn't help but laugh breathlessly.
"Why are you doing this?"I asked him and he looked at me confused.
"Doing what?"
"Never mind." I murmured and he looked at me. He licked his lips and my eyes trained themselves to that spot. I saw his lips turn up slightly when he noticed and before I could even blink he pressed his lips against mine. I blinked and froze before deciding to finally react. Might as well make the best of the situation.
We didn't kiss for long. It was nothing more than a few seconds worth and once he pulled away I leant against the stone cold wall and sighed.
"What?" He asked and I looked at him.
"We are still friends right?"
"Yeah of course." He answered.
"Good." I nodded.
"Why?" He asked and turned to face me again, some of his hair falling into his face.
"Because I don't want to ruin it."
Yeah." He paused, something that could barely be classed as a smile passed on his lips briefly. "Me neither."
"You know I don't think I've seen you smile yet." I observed and he smirked at me.
"And you never will."
"And why's that?" I asked and he just shook his head, the cocky smirk still on his handsome face.
"Because i'm not about that life." He muttered and stood up. I furrowed my eyebrows and followed suit. I couldn't tell if he was joking or not.
"And what life is that exactly?"
"You're very curious aren't you?" He turned back, the smirk still on his lips.
"Some people call it being nosy, I call it getting the answers you want." I stated and he smirked, nodding his head. "Now what life?" I pushed and he sighed as we walked down the alley.
"Curiosity killed the cat."
"And satisfaction brought it back baby." I sassed and he shook his head at me amusedly.
"Touche."
We walked in silence the rest of the way back through the town and I couldn't help but think that there was more to Ryan Richards than what met the eye.
No one's that closed off for no reason.
