" Okay, every warrior that is not doing anything else at the moment, prepare the nursery for battle!" BrambleStar called out from the rocks. He started grabbing stray brambles and dragging them to the nursery. " Hold it! just because we are 'elders' does not mean we can't help!" Purdy let out a sigh as SpiderLeg stumbled out of the elder's den and grabbed a bramble. When BrambleStar spat out the bramble vine he shot around and scolded SpiderLeg. " I told all of the elders to rest until the battle. do you know why?" " Yes. Because..." BrambleStar cut him off. " If you know why, go rest!" BrambleStar raised his voice. " FishPad. Go make sure all of the elders are healthy." " Yes BrambleStar! Purdy, SpiderLeg, LeafPool, SandStorm." FishPad called. " Coming!" LeafPool called and then pushed the other elders out of their dens. " Purdy! You old mouse-brain! Get over here." Purdy muttered something under his breath then trotted across the hollow. Right as all the elders nosed their way through the medicine den, battle screeches echoed through the hollow. " For BloodClan!" The cat at the front yowled. The small black tom raced down into the clearing and started raking every cat who got close to him. " For Scourge!" A large, gray, muscular tom shrieked as he burst into the fight. One of the orange tabby toms went straight into the nursery. A split second later BrambleStar heard SquirrelFlight shriek. " The Kits!" The orange tabby tom stopped in horror. he backed away when he found out he was cornered. SquirrelFlight was giving birth. The tom saw her give him a pleading gaze. No. He thought. Do what Scourge said! The tom dashed over to where Ice's kits were unprotected. Ice was helping SquirrelFlight give birth, she forgot about her kits. The tom ran over to StoneKit and picked him up by the neck. He let StoneKit fall as he heard a crack as StoneKit's bone snapped. At the alarming sound, Ice turned around and in horror gaze at  the unmoving body. Then she glared up at the tom. Ice looked at SquirrelFlight and her kits. How can i protect them both?  She asked herself. I'll just have to leave SquirrelFlight. She decided. She leapt out at the tom with lion sharp claws. She raked her claws down his spine and told him, " You had this coming. Attacking my kits like that! At first you might of had to fight me like a fox, now you're dealing with a BADGER!" Ice yowled as the tom swiped her muzzle. She reared up, but he took a blow to her belly. As blood welled out from her stomach, he sunk his teeth into her neck until she went limp. As he turned around, he saw three wet lumps of fur and a limp she-cat. He saw her light breathing and let the affects of birth take over and kill her. He quickly tore open BogKit's stomach. After that SpeckledKit looked at him through two slit eyes. " you," She mewed. " You monster!" She wailed as she hurled herself at the tom. the tom knew Scourge said to steal one of the kits to provoke BrambleStar. " Do you want to live?" The tom growled in a deep voice. SpeckledKit crashed into his fore paw and looked dazed from the hit. The tom took the opening and grabbed her by the scruff, then shrank away from the battle filled camp.
