Oks, here's the art/entry for Atlantiik_ s spooky contest.

This species is called Jack'o Dragons, or Jack'o Drags for short.

They love in the fall climates of a small island near the East coast of America, and they thrive there currently.

I have made this a full fleshed species on discord, so if you like, I can give you an invite.

Backstory-
Through the months of August and September, a young wizard experimented with all different types of fruits and vegetables every day.
He tried all ranging from strawberries, to cabbage, and even brussel sprouts.
Then, on the day of Sep. 19th 1920, he found what he was looking for.
He finally created an entirely new species from a plant!
Specifically, pumpkins!
He was astounded at his age that he created such a thing, that he boasted and told everyone what had done.
People were proud of him, but, after awhile it got old, and it was finally nearing Christmas for his village.

Soon, the chief got fed up with his boasting and bragging that he bannished the young wizard to the highlands.
(Where he and the JoDs live)
The wizard soon wants to return back to his village, but knows if he goes too soon, he'll get banished again, but if he goes too late, no one will know him.

As he aged, the old wizard grew more and more senile, having no interaction with anyone or anything but the Jack'os.
He eventually died, and no one knows he is up there, and no one knows that the Jack'o Drags still exist. They are just a legend that parents tell their children when they are going to sleep.

Unfortunately, to keep the JoDs from spreading everywhere, the wizard had put a spell on them a few years after being created.

The JoDs were to go into hibernation till fall every year, or their pumpkins begin to rot.

Now, fall is rolling around again, and up in the highlands...

Pumpkins are stirring.

Yep, the Jack'o Drags have awoken now, as it is the first of October (for most)
