Blaire who was thinking while cleaning suddenly hit a chair and fell hearing a scoff she stood up and met with Nathan' gaze making her bow her head. 

"Miss clumsy, why were you not looking at where you were going? Thank your stars you did not smash the glass stool with the vacuum cleaner. "

"I'm sorry sir, I will be more careful."

"No need to tell me sorry; you can tell that to my father when you break something." he said and walked outside

'Blaire! You are too clumsy. What was I even thinking of ?'  she thought and smacked her head

While she was beating up herself Beatrice came and coughed to gain her attention and she straightened facing Beatrice

"Miss Blaire, I want you to assist Hailey in preparing lunch; when she's ready she will tell you. And also she will show you to your room in the servants quarters."

"Yes ma'am."

"Please call me Beatrice" she smiled; Blaire was shocked at what Beatrice said and her smiling face because she thought Beatrice disliked her.

"Don't worry I don't dislike you; I just wanted to scare you. Now, now you've done enough tell Hailey to show you to your room."

"Mum! I'm home!" Caitlin announced and her brother appeared out of no where

"Is that why you want to bring down the roof?"

"You didn't go to work again? Have you been suspended?"

"What is it with you guys and thinking I've been suspended?" he asked  rolling his eyes "No I've not been suspended I was feeling sick at work and the CEO's best friend noticed and told me to go home."

"Oh, have you checked what is wrong with you?"

"No I don't feel like it; I've had similar symptoms before and I felt better after some time."

"Ashton, Ashton! You are a grown up man and should know what to do when you feel sick but yours is always the opposite." she groaned

"Whatever Cait; how was school?"

"School was okay but you know it's the final year so the work load is much."

"Do not be lazy, what did you expect? That it will be the easiest?"

"Leave me Ashton. Where is mum?"

"She's not back from work."

"That is strange; have you called her?"

"No I've not."

"What kind of child are you? Your mother is not home yet and you're not bothered?" Caitlin spoke angrily

"Don't talk to me like that or I'm gonna spank you!"

"You wouldn't dare." she picked up her phone and her mother was also calling her "Hello mother where are you?"

"Hello, your mother is on the way to the hospital, she was involved in an accident." A stranger spoke

"Please which hospital?" She asked

"Okay I will get her new clothes and come over" she said looking dejected

"What is wrong Cait? How is mother?" Ashton asked worriedly

"It's mother, she-" Caitlin said and burst into tears

"She what?" Ashton asked in anger

"She's on her way to the hospital; she was involved in an accident."

"What are we waiting for? Go change and we will go the hospital. I will call father and Blaire" Ashton said and Caitlin hurried to get changed

"Blaire?"

"Ashton, Is everything alright?"

"No it isn't, mother is in the hospital and I've tried calling father but he's not picking up. I want to tell you so you can come and meet mother when you are less busy."

"Okay I will but I cannot promise if I will be able come today; you know I just started here and I don't want them to send me away. Just go and check on her and give me feed-back on how she is faring. Please keep me posted."

"Okay no problem I will call father again when I get to the hospital, bye."

"Bye" she said and ended the call and burst into tears and cleaned her eyes when she heard footsteps

"Hey Blaire, are you okay?" Natalia asked concerned

"Yes ma'am"

"Ma'am?" Natalia gasped

"Please just call me Natalia or Talia like everyone does. Are you sure you are okay?"

"Yes ma I mean Natalia"

"Okay if you say so but you can come to me if you need anything."

"Yes, thank you Natalia." she said and Natalia went upstairs

"You know you cannot lie to me now tell me what is wrong?" Beatrice said

"Hm, it's nothing ma'am" she said shaking her head

"Tell me what the person that called you said." she said surprising Blaire

"It was my brother that called me to inform me that my mother was involved in an accident." she said and burst into tears again as Beatrice pulled her close and hugged her comforting her

"It's okay; your mother will be fine" she said petting her and a cough was heard which made Beatrice release her

"Nathan, what can I do for you?"

"I want Hailey to bring me a cup of orange juice; she's not in the kitchen please can you tell her that when she gets back."

"No problem," Beatrice said and Nathan bowed in thanks and left

"Nathan, did you see Blaire?" Natalia asked him as he got to the door of her room

"Blaire?"

"Yes, the new maid." she said and he frowned

"I thought I told you not to get involved with her."

"I know but she was crying when I entered the living room." she said looking worried

"Hm, I saw Aunt Beatrice petting her when I entered. No more questions I have better things to do."

"I don't know you don't like her; she just arrived."

"The more reason I shouldn't, you don't know if she's working for our enemy"

"Nat- Just forget it." she said and went to her room leaving an angry Nathan behind

"I wonder what is wrong with you; how can you trust that girl like that?"  he mumbled

"Blaire you can go home to meet your mother I will tell the whole family why you were away" Beatrice said

"No I don't-"

"Don't say anything Blaire, Mrs Gloria won't mind."

"She won't mind but Mr Smith and his son don't like me yet. They might think I'm lieing"

"Don't bother Blaire,i'll take care of that, now off you go"

"Thank you ma'am." she said with a very grateful heart

"Off you go and I'm not ma'am okay?" She said making Blaire chuckle leaving the living room and running to get her purse from her room in the servant quarters.

"Caitlin hurry! Dad has finally answered the call. He said he will meet us in the hospital. Don't forget to get mum comfortable clothes."

"I'm done with packing the clothes go start the car I will lock the door"

"Okay," Ashton said moving outside to do as Caitlin advised after about five minutes she joined him and told the security guard to open the gate and Ashton drove out of the compound telling him they will be back soon.

"Nathan sure has some nerve," a woman's voice was heard "So he told you to do what again?"

"He told me to get off his phone." the messenger said making the woman burst into a very scary laughter

"What do you want me to do now ma'am?" The messenger asked

"You can go play in dirt; don't you have an iota of sense? I think that is why Nathan did not take you serious; probably you sounded like a teenager." she said in anger frightening the messenger

"No ma, I didn't sound like a teenager I sounded like this." he said trying to form thick voice

"Idiot!" She shouted "Get out of my sight or you'll hate yourself" she said and hissed

"Good afternoon nurse, a woman who was involved in an accident was brought in please what is her room no?" Ashton asked the first nurse he saw at the reception

"What is her name? And who are you to her?" The nurse asked

"Her name is Mrs Willows and I am her son Ashton Willows and here is my sister Caitlin Willows"

"She is in the ER and will be moved to the ICU after she's been treated; I will like you to wait over there till the other nurse incharge comes."

"Thank you so much nurse.. Rachael" he said starring at her tag

"It's no big deal, that is what I'm here for Ashton" she said smiling. Caitlin who had been listening to their conversation breathed out.

Few minutes later the nurse that attended to them earlier came in and told them their mother was in ICU and they could see her now.

They both stood up and went to the room when Caitlin saw her mother's bruised face, she burst into tears and knelt by her mother's bed. Ashton moved closer to her and hugged her.

Few minutes later their father entered with Blaire and Caitlin who was surprised said "Blaire! Why are you here? You just started your mission and you're leaving already; do you want your job to be given to another person?"

"I was given some hours off to see mother, so how's she now?" She asked moving close to the bed their mother was lying on.

They all gather round her bed, looking at her while her husband held her hand.

Then she suddenly opened her eyes and try to give a faint smile when she saw all her family surrounding her.

"Mother! Honey!" They shouted in unison

"Don't choke me and Ashton be careful with the infusion tube." she said when they were all trying to hug her at once.

"You gave me a fright dear; I was shouting at my workers and was not myself. What happened?" the Willows father asked.

"George, how many times have I told you to stop shouting at your workers?" Regina asked  her husband

"You can say that again. Please tell me what happened. How did you get involve in an accident dear?" He asked more impatiently now.

"I was about to cross the road to get some fresh fruits I saw across the road,when a careless taxi driver just hit me and the next thing I knew was that I was on my way to the hospital.

"Mum,you need to be more careful when crossing the road next time,and moreover,you can get all the fruits you want, fresh at the mall. Or better still send a maid to get them for you!" Blaire said with a worries look on her face.

"Blaire! Why aren't you at work?" She asked worriedly

"I came to see you mother; I was so scared."

"I am very sorry my dears for scaring you like that. I am very fine now as you all can see, Blaire can go back to work. Honey, please call the doctor, so that I can be discharged and a can all go home." she ordered

"Mother!"

"No,"

"Please,"

"Still no."

"Mother, mother!"

"Blaire, Blaire! Go to work or I'll call your boss to come carry you"

"My boss knows I'm here "

"Okay, but you're returning this evening." she said squinting

"Whatever mother," she said and when she saw her mother's stern look she said "Yes mother." faking a salute and made all he family members burst into laughter

"That's my Blaire."
