Chapter 6

Victoria's POV

I let out a groan as my alarm clock off way to early for my taste. Last night was fun and I enjoyed it, but I only got home at twelve and I needed a few more hours of sleep, but that was not going to happen. I have an appointment this morning with Amelia and the wedding planner with Jaydan. I took the morning off because it was the only morning Jaydan didn't have any meetings.

If I knew how much work this wedding planning was going to be, I would've begged Jaydan to elope. But deep down inside I knew that I always wanted the white wedding.

I quickly went to take a shower before getting dressed and ready for the day. Jaydan and I agreed that he was going to come pick me up, he reasoned that it gave us more time to spend together and I wasn't going to complain.

When I entered my living room I saw that there was a yellow piece of paper pushed under my door. My heart skipped a beat. I picked up the letter, I could feel my pulse speed up with every word I read.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Victoria is getting married
Think you know your fiancé as well do?

This letter only made my mind reel more. First I get a letter asking if Jaydan asked the question already, and that was before Jay proposed. Whoever this person was, he wasn't just watching my every move, but he was watching Jay's every move too.

There was a quick knock on my door before my door was thrown open by Jaydan. I quickly placed the note under a stack of books laying on the counter.

"Morning my soon to be wife," Jaydan said very chirpy. Too excited for anyone so early in the morning.

"Someone is happy," I said.

"Well, you would be too if you were engaged to the most wonderful woman in the world," he said matter-of-factly.

"Ooh is that so, well then we should better get going to our wedding planning. Let me just grab my bag and then we are ready to go," I said before I rushed to my room to grab my back. I quickly threw a few items inside before I placed the bag over my shoulder.

Jaydan was leaning against the counter when I entered the living room once more.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Ai ai Captain," I said before we made our way downstairs after locking my apartment up.

A few minutes later, we were parked outside the Stewart mansion. Amelia ran her business from the house and she had a huge office and dressing room where all her creations were on full display.

Amelia and Tracy were both waiting for us outside, someone was overeager. But I wasn't going to turn this help down. A wedding took a lot of planning, but with these two women helping I was certain it was going to be spectacular.

Jaydan grabbed my hand, "you ready?" He asked as we approached the mansion where the women were already waiting for us.

"Always, let's do this,"I said optimistic.

"Aww, I'm so glad you two could make it, now let's not dilly dally any longer. We have the wedding of the year to plan," Amelia said as she clapped her hands together before she turned on her heels and entered the house followed by a equally excited Tracy who gave us a smiling before following Amelia.

Jaydan and I shared a look before we both shrugged our shoulders and followed the excited ladies.

"Did your parents have a big wedding?" I asked Jaydan.

"Nope, Dad was still working as an intern back then so they got married in a small church, with only their closest family members," he said.

"That explains everything," I said.

"What?" Jaydan asked.

"Why your mother is so excited about planning our wedding, she's obviously trying to make up for something she never had," I explained and Jaydan nodded.

"That does make sense, now are you ready to start planning?" I nodded before Jaydan led me through the house to the "workshop" where Amelia created her most gorgeous creations.

"There you two are, come! We don't have all day and I need to get your measurements and Victoria still needs to choose a dress. Tracy also has a few questions she would like to ask you about the wedding."

Amelia pulled me to a back room where she ordered me to strip to my underclothes so that she could start taking her measurements. The walls were covered in different pictures of wedding dressed and she told me to look around while she took my measurements.

My eyes darted around the room as I searched for a wedding gown that would grab my attention. My eyes spotted a beautiful gown that was tight around the bodice but spread out at the waist, it reminded me of a true princess dress and it was definitely a option I was considering.

The second dress I saw was a sweetheart dress that had bare shoulders, it spread out at the bottom, but not as much as the princess dress I saw. I looked between the two and I already knew that I was going to have trouble deciding between those two dresses. They were very beautiful and they made the choice very hard.

"See something you like, dear?" Amelia asked.

"Yes, actually two dresses and I don't think I will be able to decide between the two," I explained my predicament to Amelia.

"When we are done here, you can point them out to me and the we might find a way to combine the two dresses with each other. Now let's finish this first," she said as she continued to get my last few measurements.

I was beyond relieved when she announced that she was finally done. I quickly dressed before I showed Amelia the two gowns which caught my eye.

"I see what you mean, they are both beautiful, making the choice very hard, but I might have an idea about a way to combine it," she said before she took down the two pictures before walking out the small dressing room. I followed behind her and we joined Jaydan and Tracy who were sitting in the small living area in Amelia's "workshop" drinking tea.

Jaydan beamed when he saw me enter and patted the open seat beside him.

"Vic, did you find something you liked?" Jay asked.

"Yes, and how is it going here?" I asked as I stared at all the papers scattered on the small coffee table.

"Well, we're making progress and I limited all the choices between three so that you only have to pick one of the three I selected," Jaydan said, excited about the progress he has made.

"That will make it very easier," I said as I started to look through the choices I needed to make. It was hard but I knew what I liked the most and it made things easier.

"Jaydan darling, let me take your measures," Amelia called and Jaydan headed towards the dressing room we were in minutes prior.

"Vici, check on my table is a rough sketch of the two dresses combined, tell me what you think and we can adjust it accordingly," she said before entering the dressing room behind Jay.

I walked over to her desk to take a look at the sketch and what I saw blew me away. The dress was the perfect combination of the two. She kept the sweetheart dress but added the lace to the cover the arms and shoulders, and she expanded the dress at the bottom, it was wider than the sweetheart dress, but narrower than the princess dress and I loved it. It was perfect and I knew it was the dress for me.

I joined Tracy once more as I decided on the different flowers we were going to get, our theme colours we decided on was black and silver. Jaydan and I both agreed on the colours instantaneously.

When Amelia and Jaydan emerged from the small dressing room I couldn't help the smile I sent her way.

"So I guess you're happy with the dress?" She asked and I nodded like a crazy woman. I was beyond excited about the dress.

"Can I see?" Jaydan asked and I shook my head.

"Nope, you will have to wait and see," I said.

Jaydan pouted but I stood strong, I wanted him to be surprised when he saw me walk down the aisle. And I wasn't going to ruin that surprise.

"Fine, I'll wait," he final agreed. Tracy called us back to attention and we went back to making choices upon choices. I never thought that planning a wedding would involve so many decisions.

Jaydan and I were busy discussing a band, when my mother entered the room.

"Am I late?" She asked. I was surprised that she came, but very happy.

"You made it," I said as I stood up and hugged her.

"Of course I did, now where is your dress?" She asked and I pointed to Amelia who was very busy drawing at her desk. My mother headed over to take a look.

"Wow, Vic. It's gorgeous," she said before she and Amelia began to discuss material and things while Jaydan and I continued to make endless choices and decisions.

"I think we should have black table cloths with silver plates and flowers as a centre piece, what do you think?" I asked Jaydan, he looked at the flowers that I pointed out before he nodded.

"I think those will look beautiful and it fits nicely with the rest of the decor," he mused.

"So you want those flowers?" Tracy double checked before we both nodded. The wedding planning went smoother than I thought it would, especially when Jaydan and I decided on the same thing. Great minds think a like.

"Then the flowers is settled then, now-" Tracy's sentence was interrupted by my phone ringing.

I took it out of my pocket and when I saw Tim's face flicker on the screen, I knew it was important.

"Will you excuse me just a sec," I asked before I exited the room, leaving Jay with the rest of the decisions.

"Hey Tim, what's wrong?" I asked alarmed. My first thought were that something happened to Gracie and I prayed that my thoughts were wrong.

"Sorry to disturb you, Vici. But I'm afraid you have to put a pin in your wedding planning for now, we got a homicide," he said. I quickly got the details from him before I hung up.

Jaydan gave me a worried look when I entered the room, I quickly reassured him by flashing him a quick smile.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. There has been a murder and duty calls," I explained before I grabbed my bag and jacket.

"Take my car," Jaydan said as he gave me the keys.

"Thanks, I will call you later," I said before I placed a quick kiss to his cheek. I greeted my mother, Tracy and Amelia before I made my way out of the house.

Alexander was already waiting at the door and I couldn't help but wonder how he knew when people was about to leave all the time.

"Have a good day, Ms Wills," he said.

"Thank you, you too Alexander," I replied not even bothering to remind him to call me Victoria.

I unlocked Jaydan's car before I entered the address, that Tim gave me, onto the GPS. I made sure about my route before I sped off to my destination. Almost to scared to find out wat I will find at the scene of the crime.
