Chapter #1
Ashley pulled her back pack further up on her back, Melanie walked by her side humming a song she had never heard before. As soon as they stepped inside she spotted Nicholas Krest.... WORST guy ever!
Melanie stopped humming and blushed. Ashley looked over to see what she was looking at and noticed Mark, Nicholas' friend smiling in their direction. She rolled her eyes losers. Her boyfriend Derek, trotted their way with a smile on his face.
"Hey!" He yelled as he stopped right next to them.
"You don't have to yell. We aren't deaf." Ashley said.
"You never know. So how's your day been?" He took her hand in his as they walked down the hallway. All eyes turned on them. They were the schools latest news, only because she was the dancer of the year at their school all of a sudden made the world love them.
"My day has been.... same." She sighed. Life was hard at home. Her dad had left them six months ago and mom had been working extra hours to suppose her four children.
"It'll get better, you'll see. Just keep praying." Melanie said and she heard Derek says something under his breath.
Just keep praying. How many times had she heard that in the past year? Life hadn't gotten easier. Praying did nothing but waste your Breath and time.
Melanie believes way to much in this God stuff and not enough in just letting the world take it's course. Being at a public school has to be difficult for her cause kids like her get made fun of for God.
"Yeah I suppose." I said.
"You wait, God has the perfect plan for this. Maybe it's a miracle in disguise."
This could never be a miracle in disguise unless God is trying to torture me and my family
Andrew joined us as we walked to Algebra. "Hey guys how's it going?"
"Hey Andrew!" Melanie said happily. "It's going awesome. I just got this gift card to Aeropostale, Which reminds me Ashley we so need to go there. Maybe after school?"
I mentally wanted to scream and hug my best friend and tell her I would love too, but I applied to work at Pete's popcorn and knew that today was my first day.
"Sorry, Mel I can't today."
Melanie's smile faded quickly and it pained me to see it.
By the time we made it to Algebra nobody had said anything for a long time. We made our way in to Algebra and sat for the long boring lecture.
