"Just ask her out." Ryan said.

"No, why on earth would I do that?" Nick asked.

"Cause we all have girlfriends going with us bowling and your a loner. "

"I could bring Melanie."

"Shes already going.... with Andrew."

"Awe how cute!" Carrie perked up.

"Not cute. Gross. Relationships are gross. And there all around stupid."

"I feel so offended!" Carrie grabbed her heart drastically.

Marcus came out of the house and sat down on the patio with the rest of them.
"Just ask her out man. What do you have to lose?"

"What do I have to lose? My dignity."

"Not that important." Carrie said.

"Haha that's so funny. You know you really know how to get on people's nerves."

"And you really know how to suck at finding love or a girlfriend." Carrie said as she raised her glass of lemonade. "A toast, to Nick never ever ever ever finding a girlfriend or love or friend that is a girl cause we all know he has this thing called Girl-Phobia."

"I do not." He said defensively.

"Say what you want Nick. But we all know the truth."

He rolled his eyes and thought about it. What did he have to lose from asking her? Your dignity.. but as Carrie said that wasn't that important.

What was he saying? That he'd ask her to go bowling with his crazy crew of friends and their girlfriends? Maybe she'd say yes because Melanie was going. Or Maybe she'd show him up in front of the whole school. That would make him the front line of the schools paper for sure.

He couldn't believe he was doing this. He picked up the phone and dialed her number.

A girl answered, "Hello?"

"Hi, is Ashley available?"

"May I ask who's calling?"

"Nicholas Krest."

"Oh Hi Nick, it's Jenny."

Jenny right.... Melanie always talked about her and how Jenny and his little brother would be perfect for each other.

"Hey so is Ashley there?"

"Let me get her for you."

There was silence for a moment before Ashley spoke." Do you need something so badly that you called my house phone?"

"Actually I do."

He heard he huff. "What is it?"

"My friends are going bowling tonight and Melanie wanted me to invite you because she is going."

"Yeah she already told me."

"Oh.."

"Yeah. I might see your there. If I can get away."

And with that she hung up....
Not the most talkative girl in the world. Not the most polite either.

"So?" Marcus asked.

"If she can make it she'll be there."

"Oh look at that you can actually get a date."

"Carrie, don't call it that. It's not a date its simply a outing with other human beings."

"Sure."

He knew he was in for it now. They'd probably make him wear a tuxedo to go bowling. Why did I do this? Because they were making fun of you and you couldn't stand it. Shut up brain I wasn't asking you.
