Chapter Two: Close One
After the long chat, with Jay doing the meetings and wanting us to find food, I left. My shoulders and legs were weak. Fighting and doing my hunting skills. I couldn't really walk straight, so others would think I'm an injured wolf. Drag can be a rough fighter. The streets of the city was a bit quiet, for it being night time. I decided to take a short cut, since people were coming my way. I snuck around some cargo that was crowded in a corner near a dead end.
I stopped, feeling disturbed by the giant boxes. Why are they in a corner? Could the Empire be taking blasters, bombs, information? I crouched low, only to feel a sharp pain in my shoulder blade. Karablast, Kai! You heavy dung! The boxes had a faint smell of fish, and bucketheads. Empire cargo, now Valkia Cargo. I hopped on one, feeling like a stubborn pup again. Or should I say Rebel?
The feel of the box was smooth and silk, giving a tingle up my back. I stretch my claw out and looked for the lock. The lock, surprisingly was unlocked, so I used my snout to open it. I jumped up, landing on my paws, only to stretch out to reach my paws on the side of the crate. I saw guns, tons of them! Ray can have plenty for defense! My tail wagging with excitement. The bombs can help too! Ray can now be able to defend himself.
A while ago, the Empire took his guns, since he was a war veteran and he needed protection. I personally, along with Kate and Kai have been looking for weapons to steal. Our luck faded but now, it's back. I trapped a gun with my teeth, making sure my fang wasn't near the trigger, til I heard a voice.
"Spector 1, we found the cargo." The voice was cracking and low. Crap! Empire! I closed the lid with my lower jaw and paddled near a hidden spot. Still holding the gun, I noticed two tall figures walking down the ally. They don't look like the Empire.
"Copy Spector 2, grab and go!" A female voice replied. What in the Galaxy are these strangers? One grunted, sniffing the air. "Smells like someone died here." He covered his nose. That's because this ally is where most people die. I could barely see the two figures. One was skinny but, had some muscle while the other one was taller and more bulky.
"These bucket heads don't know how the hide their junk." The slim man chuckled. True to that. I hid a laugh under my breathe. My jaws started to ache with this gun in my mouth so I slowly crept by, in the shadows. I heard them murmuring to each other when the gun bumped into a trash can. My heart sunk. Oh god. The ally went dead silent.
"Who's there?!" The bulk guy grunted. Not processing at all, I ran. Hurrying to my home quick. I could hear footsteps following behind me. The footsteps were humongous, possibly bigger than me. "Come back here, Loth-Rat!" My paws trembled, for all I could know they might be undercover for the Empire!
Jump! My brain hollers at a speeder, in my direction. I closed my eyes and boost my speed. Jumping in the air, landing on the speeder and jumping onto the roof of a building. "Gah!" The bulk grunted. "Come back Loth-Rat!" Loth-Rat.
I glared at the man. He was a... Lascot? I thought they were all gone. "It's just a wolf." Another figure appeared. This man was human, had brown hair in a ponytail and deep teal eyes. Something's off about him.
"It stole-" I saw an empty milk carton and flicked it towards the Lascot, hitting him in the head. I ran off when I heard the thud.
Hah, not very impressive!
