Chapter 10

(Kanan pov)

A few hours (I think, I've lost track of time in here) after my connection with Ezra, I am still lying on the table. I've been staring at the ceiling thinking about my Padawan and the dark side.

The door to my cell hisses open and the Inquisitor walks in, smiling triumphantly. "Here you are, Jedi. Here is your former apprentice."
He moves aside to show Ezra, with evil yellow eyes and dressed in Imperial black, standing in the doorway. Ezra smiles evilly.
"My old Master."
"What have you done to him?" I yell at the Inquisitor.
"I've made him who he was meant to be. A true Sith, of great power and strength. A valuable agent of the Empire."
"No," I whisper. I shake my head as hard as I can. "Ezra, this isn't you! Fight the drug they gave you, fight it! I know the real you is still in there."
Ezra laughs. "The old Ezra is dead, Kanan. Dead. Like all Jedi are. This is who I am meant to be. A Sith, not a Jedi. The Sith are more powerful than the Jedi. All the Jedi did was quote ridiculous quotes and try to save those who couldn't be saved. No wonder they all died. You are the last Jedi, Master."
I stare at him in shock. "Ezra-"
Ezra shakes his head. "No Kanan, not Ezra. Call me- the Inquisitor's apprentice."
I open my mouth in shock. The Inquisitor leaves the cell then, laughing, taking his new apprentice with him. Ezra turns back and looks at me for a moment, and for a moment, I see a flicker of blue in his eyes. But it's gone as suddenly as it came, and Ezra smiles cruelly at me. "See you later, Jedi."
The door slides shut, and I finally allow myself to cry as the Inquisitor leads away my Padawan, my rebel friend, and the boy I loved like a son.
