Goodbye
I once heard
That the only way to move on
Is to say goodbye
So I suppose
That finally
After such a time
When your words
Your actions
Have plagued me
Have made me stay up at night
Repeat endless conversations
Where I yelled at you
Cried at you
Made you look as broken as I felt inside
Then walked away
But now
I don't feel anger
And I don't feel bitterness
I just feel sad
Because we
Could have been friends
Such
Good
Friends
But you threw that away
So now?
Now I'm going to say
I won't let your words
Your irresponsible
Hurtful words
Linger with me anymore
I will move on
And I will leave you
Goodbye K
Note: I know there have been quite a few words that orbited around K. So I'm just going to tell you now. Her name is Kami. It's not like you'll ever meet her, so I'll just say it. She was the first girl I met in Korea. She was also the first girl to get angry with me for talking with another friend. She was the first girl I've ever broken a friendship with. I hope she is the last. Kami had a tendency her upset, and when she got upset, she took it out on me. Her hurtful words have ruined our relationship so much, that even just writing this now is making me tear up.
I will admit, I have let friendships lapse with other people, but that was normally just because one of us moved. Kami, however, broke our relationship by often saying "you're not my friend anymore!" It became such a common saying that we would simply wait a week before her showing up again. I believe the biggest fight was when she asked if I wanted to sit with my best friend, so I sat next to E. Kami, true friends can't just be tossed away when angry. True friends hold on, and talk their way through things.
But now, Kami, although you'll never read this, I am dedicating this poem to you. I hope you have a good life. I hope you find out what true friendship is. And maybe then, we can be friends again. Goodbye Kami.
