Chapter 3 - An Ice Boy & P.E. Class

Class 2-C was amazing! At least the students were anyway. Sherry loved giving you advice on looks and Shelia often talked about how close you two shoulder be as new friends. Yuka and Toby were amazing comedy reliefs when you needed them and Jura balanced them out with a relaxing aura.

And Lyon.

Lyon was just amazing! You got along extremely well and he often visited you during lunch. If it wasn't him visiting you, it was Mard, but he was out off school again and again. He was often here and there but Lyon was a reoccurring visit. He would sometimes come with Sherry or Chelia but it was mostly him alone.

Sting didn't seem to take too kindly to that. All he did lately was give you glares. Glares, odd stares, and frowns that could burn a hole in your head. It's gotten to the point where you were starting to get angry at him. If he had a problem, why wouldn't he just go up and tell you?

You kept telling yourself it was because he was scared and weak. You had no time for him if he was going to just glare at you for the rest of your high school days.

It was and probably always will be painful to have him stare at you with those big blue eyes, but like you said, if he was only going to keep staring what was the point?

You wanted to be so much more with him because you freaking loved the bastard. Not right now of course, but overall yeah, you freaking loved him.

"Okay class." You all turn towards the front and see Mr. Jiemma readying his clipboard to leave. Everyone seemed to be in a rowdy mood again so he had to wave his hands to calm everyone down.

"Okay okay, calm down already. Today your gym class is going to be joined with two other ones. Today is time trials so instead of going by class you'll be going by gender." In the background you hear someone whisper-shout, "sexist" and suddenly the whole class bursts out in laughter.

He did not seem in the mood to handle your class' behavior but he did it with suave. "Girls go change in the classroom next door, boys you stay here. Everyone is to meet outside on the track field and if you're not there you get a fail for the day." Groans are sounded throughout the room as the desks get shuffled.

The girls collect their things and head over to the next classroom over. You do the same by grabbing your gym bag and following the rest of the ladies out. The boys from that classroom came over to change in here and already boys were taking their shirts off and girls were giggling non stop.

You just had to look over at Sting who thankfully wasn't undressed in front of the handful of girls. He looked at you too and surprise surprise!

He was frowning.

~~~
"Boys line up." The gym teacher shouted to all three classes in the field and the groans started sounding throughout the students.
You sat on the sidelines with the other girls and soon found that you were sharing your class with Chelia and Sherry. Their class was 2-C and your was 2-A. You also shared your gym class with 2-B. That was the rowdy bunch with Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Erza. There were a couple other folk in there you knew but you just couldn't remember their names.
Since Yukino and Minerva weren't talking to you and by now you weren't talking to them, you sat on the grassy hill with the Blendy cousins and watched as Lyon, Yuka, Toby, and Jura got ready for the time trials.
Sting was up there.
He was up front with multiple fangirls sitting close for a good look. Not only were they fangirling over Sting, but they were also in the business of fawning over Rogue, Rufus, even Orga (god forbid), Natsu, and Gray. There were so many good looking boys in your school; it was lunacy.
Sting was the best looking by far. When the whistle sounded and the boys went running, Sting was the brightest and the fastest boy out of them all. Rogue kept up since they were evenly matched in almost everything, but Sting was so much more in your eyes.
He was your Sting Eucliffe.
But the only boy to really keep his eye on you was Lyon Vastia. He smiled over flirtatiously as he ran in the front too. Soon enough you saw him, Sting, Rogue, Natsu, Gray, and even the iron-boy all running for first place.
Lyon was in a rivalry with Gray who was in a rivalry with Natsu who Sting looked up to and Rogue was equal too. but Rogue looked up to Gajeel and Gajeel was annoyed with Natsu (the hot head) and Gray (the stripper).
WHEW!
The whole bunch was getting crazy and in no time the trials ended with all of them hitting the first place mark. They were beat down by the end and the poor girls already looked beat down even though they hadn't done anything.
Chelia, Sherry, and you headed out to the line and got ready in the middle of the large group of females. You've never felt more intimidated in your life. Some of the girls in your class (the Sting-lovers) glared at you and made sure they got a spot right behind you three. To make things better, Yukino and Minerva were standing in the front... right in front of you.
Those Sting lover though... jeez. They were the ones you picked a fight with yesterday. Just like you they got cuts and scars from a few days ago and were pretty reluctant to flaunt those in front of Sting.
You could tell Sting noticed though. You two had been staring at each other a lot more lately and of course while doing so, he'd noticed the cut on your lip and the cuts on your arms. In the moment he was about to chase you down and force you to tell him what happened, but they (the equally bandaged) got in the way and he could piece the puzzle together.
You kept thinking they couldn't possibly had done it now. Those girls wouldn't dare try to mess with you here in front of all these people, but you had no idea what you were dealing with. You may have tussled with them, but it's not like you won the war. That was just a small battle and it's not like you had an army to back you up 24/7.
All you had now was Chelia and Sherry. You didn't want to get them involved, yet here they are. In all their glory they stood at you sides to make sure no one could touch you.
And then the whistle sounded.
You blocked everyone out and just kept running at your top speed, hoping to beat some sort of self-goal. Chelia was a speed demon so she outran you two fast.
You didn't mind. In fact you told her to go on ahead because anyone that beats a certain time is guaranteed an A for the day. That was your goal, but just like last year, running was not your forte. In fact, you were pretty sure you might pass out again.
You couldn't, for the life of you, give up in front of Sting. He saved you last year when you passed out. You loved that and wanted that small moment back, but no! You can't pass out this time! You needed to show him he needed you, not the other way around!
That got screwed over as soon as the girl behind you stretched her leg forward and made sure to use it as a tripping tool for your leg. She kicked under and sent you falling and landing like a flat pancake.
You weren't done though.
If you were gonna get some, she was too. So, you grabbed her ankle as she was passing by and let her fall face first into the ground.
All three classes saw the drama unfold. The boys stood up in the grass to get a better view and some of the girls running stopped midway just to watch you two duke it out. Which you did.
Once she face planted she turned around and threw the first punch. You blocked but that didn't stop her punch from hurting. Plus you were in a very revenge-like mood so you pushing back and hitting her wasn't an idea you shyed away from.
It was an all out brawl with students in a circle cheering and the teachers trying to come and break it up, but it wasn't them that stopped it.
You felt someone wrap their arms around your stomach and pull you away. It made sense who it was once you realize Rogue was pulling the other girl away.
You turned and saw that beautiful blonde honey bunches of oats and practically cried.
His strong arms were wrapped tight around you and his glare was finally towards someone other than you. He squeezed you like he was making up for lost time. You leaned against him happily, catching your breath from your tussle and regaining your strength. He was the perfect bean bag to replenish your youth.
You loved that boy.
"What the Hell was that?!" Mr. Jiemma came into the picture with the two other teachers, Mr. Makarov and Ms. Babasaama. Mr. Jiemma was the more angry one out of the three.
Even when all the classes stood there under his heavy gaze no one spoke up.
"You," He pointed to her first. "What happened?"
She pushed Rogue off of her and started screaming lies like a mad woman. "Sir I was just trying to run but once she falls she takes me down with her!"
"That's a lie! You tripped me!" You shout back and try to walk over to her to give her a piece if your mind. You couldn't because Sting was too overprotective and too strong.
"Whatever! She pulled me down and then just started attacking me!"
"Its true I saw it!"
"Me too!"
You could only roll your eyes when her colleagues butted in to help her. What were Yukino and Minerva doing? Watching from the back.
"I saw her trip (Y/N) and then throw the first punch, sir." Bless Chelia!
"Yeah, (Y/N) didn't make a move unless this girl was punching her first!" Bless Sherry!
Bless them both for sticking up for you!
"It's true." And Sting...
"I was watching (Y/N) the whole time. She tripped (Y/N) and threw the first punch." Sting kept a hold of you still and told Mr. Jiemma everything you needed him to hear.
No matter what he did you loved this boy.
Mr. Jiemma looked at the two of you and finally made a decision. "Okay. Both of you go to the office. I'll meet you down there to discuss this further. Everyone else go back to doing the time trials." He motioned everyone to get ready to run again but had you two trudge on over to the teacher's office to discuss your attitudes.
Once Sting released you to let you walk over, you tried to say something to possibly take one step forward.
"Sting?" You spoke up after his arms slipped away.
Sting turned but hardly looked at you. "Yeah?"
"Thank yo-"
"Don't worry about it."
It was like the world stopped moving. He didn't look at you or even try to talk. He obviously wanted nothing to do with you.
"But Sting..."
He turns to finally face you and looks you in the eyes with a sad smile. "Look, I know things have been rough but can we not do this here? I have to go sit down."
Every bit of love you had went dark. Your head started spinning from the lack of oxygen you weren't giving yourself by not breathing right.
"What are you talking about?" You almost snap at him. After all of that and that warmth you shared he was ready to pick a fight too?
"Just because I helped doesn't mean we're back together right? I don't need to hear it." He looks back down at the ground and starts walking to the grassy hill without letting you get a word in.
You reached out to him, almost but not quite grabbing a hold. "But Sting-" You wanted so badly to wrap your own arms around him and never let him go. He was your source of warmth and all things good.
Why on Earth was he acting like this? What did you do to deserve the cold shoulder? How come he can't just lift his head and tell you he's there for you when the whole world isn't?
And why couldn't he look you in the eyes and say the three words you desperately needed to hear right now?
"I'll see you later."
