Chapter 20: Stolen

Your POV

Dust. All you were aware of was the overwhelming dust, it clogged your throat, stung your eyes and coated your face. There was nothing in sight, it was completely noir. In a frantic panic you tried your best to remain calm depending on your other senses, but they were blurred from the thunderous pain pulsing from your right leg.

It felt numb from about the middle of your upper thigh, but then there was a sharp drumming agony coming from the lower part of your leg, you feared it was broken. Then there was also the rest of your limbs feeling bruised along with a cold liquid running from your forehead.

Forcing yourself to calm down you tried to steadied your breaths, which were had to take because of the dust, and focus on your other sentences. Anything but the pain throbbing all over. Everything smelt like timber and plaster, all you could smell was the dust. But the most frightening thing being that there was no sound.

"Hello?" you called out in a dry weak voice.

Nothing.

"Hello!?" you called again, your voice still barely audible.

Your ears dropped to your scalp, burying your face in your arms you winced as she brushed the bruises on your arm. Your leg was becoming unbearable and your head was now throbbing to the beat of your rapid heartbeat. The tears streamed down but you barely had it in you to cry out tiny sobs.

Why did the ceiling collapse? Was it the Rosy they were talking about...?

But you were too tired and too scared to even think about that, that name 'Rosy' meant nothing to you. You just wanted things to go back to normal. But what was normal? Was normal the restless nights comforted by Shadow? The gentle days in the orphanage, or was it those long dead and distant days with your parents?

You didn't know anymore. All you did know was that moments ago you had been intending to tell Shadow how you felt, and now you didn't even know where he was or how badly he was hurt.

"Shadow...."

You wanted nothing more than to feel safe again in his arms.

"(Y/N)!?"

Your head bolted up at the sound of your name. It was very muffled but you still heard it, you had to be at least slightly close to the surface of the scraps of the ceiling. Ignoring your sandpaper you throat you desperately called out.

"Hello!?"

"(Y/N)!? Where are you!?"

It sounded like Amy!

"I'm over here!"

"Call out one more time! I've nearly got you!"

"I'm over here!"

Your throat screamed along with your entire body but that hardly mattered, someone had found you! Upon hearing clattering from above more dust began to fall but a crack of light also seeped through, from which you could see the splintered wood, torn wallpaper and smashed furniture that was in front of you.

All of which, miraculously somehow hadn't completely crushed you. But as Amy above shifted the rubble more parts threatened to fall on top of you.

"Be careful!" You warned "The debris is going to crush me otherwise!"

But then Amy's voice came back in a laugh. "Oh, don't worry." she chimed "They cast a spell so I wouldn't accidentally kill you."

In a sudden burst of light you were blinded as the rest of the debris was suddenly torn from on top of you! Blinking you were blinded for a second and allowed the slightly cleaner air into your lungs, you still couldn't move pinned down by your leg. But dazedly gazing up you saw your savior, wasn't Amy.

"So your the puny girl everyone's being trying to catch? You don't look like much to me." she giggled.

Your blood ran cold at the hedgehog stood in front of you, she looked like Amy, but was far from the sweet hedgehog you knew. Her quills were styled differently, her fur just as vibrant as pink, contrasting her white shirt and yellow skirt. She smirked down at you, fangs in plain sight, sharp ended hammer rested on shoulder.

"I'm Rosy the Rascal." she grinned with her fangs, extending a hand.

Fearing for you very life you tried to back away only to scream out in pain as you leg refused to be moved. From the way Amy had reacted to her name and Rosy being insane, you knew you were in unfathomable danger.

"Awww! It's not very nice to back away from someone who wants to shake your hand." she whined like a child.

She then abruptly grabbed your arm with her extended hand, her sharp nails drawing blood.

"Let me go!" you screamed blue murder, shrieking at the pain.

She kicked away the debris on your leg causing you to holler in pain.

"Now come on, they want to see you."

With that she roughly slung you over her shoulder as if you were a mere weight, earning a yelp from you. You wanted to protest but found you could only manage a pathetic whimper, the burning agony causing you to slip away.

You were vaguely aware of a brief wind cutting past you and the air becoming more clear, weakly gazing around from your position you could see intact pieces of furniture but didn't recognise them. Leading you to guess Rosy had carried you to the surface, the mansion above the safe house. Which you had never entered, until now.

With your body completely numb you hazily aware as Rosy grimly threw you to the floor. Somehow you managed to prop yourself on your elbows and you were just able to see a gaping huge hole in the floor, you didn't dare look at your leg. How did Rosy create all that destruction?

"Ta-da! I got her for you!"

"Good work."

But the second voice, it wasn't Rosy's. It was that same venomous voice from you nightmare, the same voice which had been haunting you every night this week. And you remembered that voices threat, "I'm coming for you."

And it seems whoever it was, had kept their word.

You would have turned around, sent a glare, mustered some strength and demanded the voice why they were here, what they wanted with you. But sharply a clawed hand clasped over your mouth, the voice mumbled a few ineligible words, which sent you off into a deep sleep.

Your last thought was hoping that the others, that Shadow, were somehow, someway safe.

Third Person's POV

The unidentified figure removed their hand from the (A/T) and she limply fell to the floor, bloody and bruised.

"Tee hee! Her leg's all bloody and broken! Can I just rip it off? It'll grow back right?" Rosy giggled holding her hammer close like a toy.

"She is an immortal who has the ability to regenerate limbs, but that would only increase the time it would take her to heal." the figure denied Rosy her pleasure.

Which led Rosy to pout.

"Furthermore, I though I instructed you to retrieve her unharmed." the voice said, delicately picking up the (A/T) holding her bridal style, her leg dangerously dangling.

"Well they knew I was coming when they spotted me with my Scourgey in London, I had to act quickly when you teleported me here." Rosy pouted "And then mummy rabbit at the door saw me at the door so I had to hurt her, and then the squirrel and rabbit hunters tried to get me but I knocked them out before smashing the ceiling so the vampires downstairs wouldn't smell the blood."

All the while Rosy was grinning devilishly.

"And now they're all trapped under all that mess. Can I kill them?"

"No. That pleasure is for me alone." the voice stated "Which I can now achieve I have the half breed."

"What's with this girl? Why do you want her so bad?"

"I do not expect you to understand. Now we need to leave, I am not currently strong enough to fight Shadow."

With that Rosy skipped after the figure carrying (Y/N), humming a tune as she hopped along.

Shadow's POV

Punching through the rubble I coughed violently climbing my way out. Damn it. Damn it! How could I let this happen!?

Ignoring my wounds, I think I had a couple of fractures, I stumbled to my feet. Where was (Y/N)!? I could smell her blood more strongly than the others. Jumping up to the upper mansion however the only thing I could see was a dried patch of blood. I could smell that this blood was about an hour old. I clenched my fists, she was gone. And she was wounded.

Knowing I couldn't go after who had taken her, most likely Rosy, alone. Jumping back down to the rubble I was able to locate Amy, carefully pulling her out of the rubble she came to coughing.

"Sh-Shadow, what happened...?" she asked through gasps of breath as I steadied her.

"The ceiling collapsed most likely Rosy, can you help me get the other out?"

She gave a nod, luckily she hadn't been too badly wounded. I immediately searched for Cream. She was mobian, but she had a charm off her mother to protect her, but I was panicking that that wouldn't be enough. Smelling her blood I found her.

"Amy give me a hand."

"Who is it?"

"It's Cream, and she's bleeding."

I lifted up the rubble and Amy gently eased her out, holding her tenderly in her arms. Her arm was at an unnatural angle and gushing blood, along with various cuts and bruises. She was lucky to be alive.

"Get to the upper level and find the others, then call for medical services."

Amy nodded swiftly jumping to the surface. I set about straight away finding Sonic and Tails. Sonic spin dashed his way out but we both needed to help Tails. When he came out of the rubble, stumbling to his feet he was clutching his left arm.

"Are you alright bud?" Sonic asked worriedly.

"No, I think my arms dislocated."

"Don't worry we'll get you sorted out. But what the hell happened?" Sonic asked looking around dazed.

"Rosy caused the ceiling to collapse."I quickly explained.

"Where's (Y/N)?"

"She's gone. Someone else was here, someone with Rosy, I can tell there's another scent. I don't know who though, but they've taken her."

"Are you sure it's not Scourge?"

"No, I'd recognise his foul smell anywhere."

How could we have all been so stupid?

Making it to London Scourge and Fiona had us running around in circles for an entire week, but what we didn't understand was the civilian lives being taken in the night. On the seventh day we then spotted Scourge and Rosy. Upon seeing Rosy we knew how drastic the situation was.

Insane vampires, all they crave is annihilation. They are usually kept in extreme prisons to keep vampires and mobians alike safe. All they care about is their inhumane blood lust, killing anything and everything that gets in there way of their next meal. We should have guessed from the start that it was an insane vampire who killed Cosmo and Ash, as only they would have the lack of empathy to do so.

But insane vampires don't crave power, leading us to assume Scourge was using her to do all the dirty work of catching our attention and acting as a mole. Before we attempted to engage the two of them there conversation revealed the horrible truth.

"Would you stop killing a mobian every night? I know we're meant to be keeping this lot occupied but you're getting too carried away." Scourge scolded her.

"But I wanna have some fun! The last fun I got was killing that mongoose and seedrian, spying on the Hunters is no fun..." she pouted.

"Yeah but all your spying on the Hunters and you still didn't tell us where they're keeping that dolly."

"How cares? We'll have her soon enough."

That's when we attacked, we could have taken Scourge but Rosy was an entirely different matter, and then Fiona came out of nowhere. Tails in a rage went straight for Rosy, she quickly struck him down and fled, Scourge and Fiona distracting us before they too ran away. Teleporting back to the safe house as quickly as we all could, we clearly weren't fast enough.

And now (Y/N) was gone.

"Guys I found the others!" Amy called from above "Sally and Bunny are knocked out but fine but Vanilla's in a bad way."

"Oh no..." Sonic mumbled worriedly.

"Amy's called medical services, so once everyone's in stable conditions we need to try and pick up the trial." I instructed.

"Hang on Shadow, everyone's injured including you. Plus there's a snow storm so any tracks will be long covered up." Sonic reasoned "We'll find (Y/N) but it won't be tonight, none of us can do anything when we're all in this state."

As much as I hated to admit it Sonic was right. Of course I'd never say that and so all I responded with, was a nod.

I promise I'll find you (Y/N).

Your POV

It's night.

A full moon. But you were only observing. Your vision shifted from the night sky filled with stars to a forest. An open area lined with trees with a lake at it's center.

But as you looked at the reflection of the moon in the water of the lake you saw a young women standing there, in the water, a brown (A/T). Your mother. She delicately ran her finger tips through the water, humming as she did so. You recognised that tune, it was a lullaby, the one she used to sing to you.

The water was up to her hips and she cupped the water in one of her hands, moving her hand back and forth in the water. She seemed so content, not caring in the slightest that her dress was sodden.

She began to turn her head towards you, still humming, and this time you saw her. Her face was so ...young.

She seemed to look through you as she looked behind her, with great curiosity. But what was she looking at? She was young and beautiful. That same face of curiosity, and then it turned into a slight smirk. As if teasing.

"So the rumors are true, a beautiful witch resides in these forests."

And now you recognised that voice. You vision shifted allowing you to look upon the owner of the second voice and you gasped. It was your father. At that moment you learnt, as the dream was finally complete, that this was how your parents met.

Violently jolting awake you coughed, your throat stale. Gazing around everything seemed dark and grey, but then that seething pain came back and you gasped sharply. On instinct you tried to reach for you leg only to hand your wrists pulled suddenly back, you wrists were chained up to a stone wall as she sat there on the on a ice cold floor.

"I'm glad to see you've regained consciousness."

That same voice from before and you nightmares cut through the dark making you jolt in fear. Gazing around the castle like structure you flinched at a pair of fushia orbs, they shifted until they appeared from the dark shroud along with a figure.

"Your healing process shall begin soon which will make matters easier for me." he added.

But you were too stunned at his appearance. His body was made out of what appeared to be crystal, or obsidian. It was a deep violet and he had an aura surreounding him that made him look all the more threaetneing.

"W-who, are you?"

"I am Mephiles, Mepiles the Dark."
