Portia was doing pretty well for herself, all things considered. As an alien from a dying race trying to get by, people would believe that her life was pretty difficult. It wasn't, in all honesty. With a stone cold heart and lack of real care, she had reached the point where morals were secondary and survival was key. At one point in her life, she wanted nothing more than to make the person responsible for wiping out her entire family to pay. But seeing as Thanos the Mad Titan was basically untouchable, all she could do was wallow in self-pity and hatred.

Stealing, and the occasional murder, that was how she kept herself alive. Taking money off the people she killed was how she was able to get food and the occasional drink. Of course, with the kind of work she did, the bounty on her head was pretty high; which meant if anyone was looking to make some decent pocket change, she would be the one they'd want.

After months of roaming the galaxy alone, she made the decision to travel to Xandar to see if she could make some quick money. But as she lands, she finds herself being bagged by a large Tree and his pet raccoon. And when their plan falls through and they all get arrested, she's forced to team up with the biggest idiots in the Galaxy.

Let me just say that starfragment, the creator of this plot, has shoved me down this rabbit hole of Guardians plots because I have so many others in the works, but it's best to start with Gamora, because this gal is just so good and I love her a lot, she's great. Portia's great too she's the literal embodiment of "I'm not here to be polite or heterosexual"
