This novel is the second book in The Sovereignty Series, a series of interconnected stories created by short_flame (Flame). It can be read as a stand-alone or directly after the novella Tilted, which is the first Sovereignty Series book. 

In short, Sovereignty is a loosely based mixture between Vampires and ABO (and a few other things), so keep that in mind as you read. The next chapter explains the universe/rules/structure of Sovereignty if you would like to look over it before you read to get a better grasp of the creatures of this book series before you explore it. If not, feel free to skip it! There's no stress, the story can be understood without it- it's for lore purposes.
