He stood up suddenly and ran his hands through his hair.
"What?"
"No!" He yelled, "you don't understand! No one does! She's gone man! Disappeared!" A pause, then a quiet, "she's probably dead, that's what they're all saying. I never said goodbye."

He left his friend under the tree in a bout of frustration and sadness.

She's gone.
