Hello! Sorry for this update being so late! For those of you who don't know I put all my books on hiatus until I was done with Finals Week and school in general

So that's where I have been--

But I'm back! So yay!

Oh and also: This chapter idea was given to me by @PsychicNature  

(And it's secretly just a mini break chapter between the Dream Maker series to throw in some variety between the three parts. Yes it's going to be a three-parter shhhhhhhhhh)

A recap wouldn't really work here (Or it would take up 1/5 of the chapter) so let's just start it with:

---Kat's POV---

It had only been two days since we had our little "adventure" that turned into more of a horror story toward the end. It was around 2:00 in the afternoon and Kanna, Alice, Kiki, and I (ooooooo proper grammar ...for once) had all decided to meet up at the Jasmine Moon Cafe. You know, the cafe we often visit nowadays, which the author finally got around to actually naming. Oops broke the fourth wall again, and I did it so early in the chapter too..... Moving on:

Even though it had been a whole 48 hours since the event, we were still talking about it. Alice and Kanna decided they wanted to go back and rescue Sonya, Kiki had been completely calm and relaxed about the entire occurrence and she wanted to go back just out of curiosity, and I never wanted to go near that place again. And in case you're wondering, Dogost and Thresh are both much too terrified to even consider going back, Nami is torn between saving the girl and protecting Dogost from ever being that scared again, and after we told them what happened while they were asleep: Mason is also torn between the two options and Firo can't decide if she wants to take revenge on the 'psycho mind demon' or if she wants to just ignore the entire thing and sweep it under the rug.

Thresh and Kanna had both decided to do a few tests on that red dust Sonya threw on Mason and Firo, it was made of components of poppy flowers. Turns out it was a sleeping powder mixture, more specifically one that Dream Maker's use. At least we found that out after they did a lot of research.

Luckily, this time around we only had four people so we could actually sit in a regular table, and not the monster King-Arthur-esque "council table" on the second floor. Instead we were sitting at a normal sized table on the ground floor, and everything was normal, peaceful, and quiet.
That is until Thresh and Ice (remember him?) came barreling through the door and rushed over to our table. They both looked panicked

"Umm.. Are you two okay..?" Kanna blinks in confusion

"You look like you've seen a ghost." Kiki quietly laughs

"Something happened.." Ice is clearly nervous

"Yes, obviously.. We want to know what happened not if it happened." Alice states

Ice looks slightly annoyed by the comment, then sighs. "You're gonna have to see it.. It's hard to explain.."

We all look between each other, then nod.

Thresh's car was parked outside, so we all climbed into it and he started driving.

"Can you at least make an effort to explain what happened?" Alice immediately asks. "Or at least tell us who was involved?"

"Well... It's something with Firo.." Ice states

"What? Did she get arrested aga--?" Alice raises an eyebrow

"What happened to her?" Kanna cuts Alice's sarcasm off

"Well.. Mason, Firo, and I were all playing cards together, and we're not sure what exactly happened.. but Firo decided to morph into her dragon form while we were playing." Ice starts to explain

"And what's the problem in that..?" I can't help but sound a little sarcastic

"It was an unwilling transformation.. And now, no matter what we say, she won't change back.." Thresh frowns

"And?" Alice looks confused

"And we think she's stuck like that..." Ice states

"How do you know? Maybe she's just pranking you." Kanna points out. "She's done that to me plenty of times.. She'll turn into a dragon at the most inappropriate times to be annoying, then she'll laugh when I tell her to turn back, mock me for a little while, then get bored and stop.. Usually it's done and over after twenty minutes."

"She's not talking to us.. And I don't think she can see us either.." Thresh adds. "So Mason started panicking and I called Thresh over to see if he could help us identify what was wrong with her."

"Wait wait hold on-- What do you mean she 'can't see you'?"

"I mean that instead of looking at us or looking at the door when I opened it for Thresh to come in, she was just very confused and moving her head around like she was looking for us.." Ice explains

"Simultaneously she was also crashing her head into everything." Thresh adds

"Yeah... This has happened to her before.." Kanna states  

"What?" Ice looks back at her

"It's happened before.. Several times.. I've asked her what it is but every time she deflects the question." Kanna states. "I think it's some sort of sickness that affects only dragons... At least that's what I've discovered with what research I've done." 

"So  how do we snap her out of it?"  Ice asks as Thresh parks in the street in front of Mason's home. 

"Well first of all we've got to keep her inside Mason's house.. If she gets out  it will be even harder to fix her.." Kanna states

"Umm... Yeah small problem with that plan Kanna...." Thresh points to something from out of his window. 

Kanna blinks in confusion and looks out of her window, then sighs in frustration. "Greeeeeaaat...." A large hole was smashed through what used to be the doorway of Mason's house, as for Mason himself, he was frantically pacing outside.

As soon as he noticed Thresh's car, he ran over to us, obviously panicked. "She's gone! She just got up and ran out!"

"Aww.. I was looking forward to seeing her dragon form..." I sigh

"I wanted to ask her if she could fly me around on her back.." Kiki pouts

We both sigh in unison 

"She wouldn't let you, trust me, I've asked her before." Kanna states

"Awww..." Kiki frowns

"So Lilly was right then.." A third disappointed sigh leaves my mouth 

"Probably." Kanna shrugs

"Can we please focus on something more important?!" Mason continues to panic. "Firo is gone! She took off as soon as she was outside and started flying east of here!"

"Mason is right.. People are bound to notice her.. And she can't see or hear anything so-"

"Isn't that a little strange? Like why does this 'sickness' affect her that way? It makes her unable to see and hear, and unable to transform back... Those are some oddly specific symptoms.... Like this entire thing is set up just to create a specific planned scenario.." Alice points out

"Shhhhhh it's an unexplained plot device.." I whisper

"A what? What are you talking about..?" Alice looks extremely confused

"Shhhhhhh.. Let's find Firo!" 

"Yay! We're going dragon hunting!!" Kiki happily giggles

"We're not hunting Firo, we're just finding her." Mason states as Kanna moves to the back of the car so he can sit in one of the two middle seats. 

"Hold on.." Ice opens his door from the passenger seat and steps out of the car, closing the door behind him. "Your main entrance is literally torn through and literally anyone could jistwalk into your house.. I'm going to make sure no one breaks in. Besides, Firo might eventually find her way back here, and if she does then I'll call you back over." 

Thresh nods, then starts driving. "So, any idea where she might be going?" Kanna turns to Mason. 

"No idea..." Mason sighs. "All I know is she went East.."

"Then we'll search everywhere East of here.. She couldn't have gotten far.." Kanna states

"She's downtown on top of that huge tower with the mural painted all over it." Alice states

"What? How do you know that?" I look over at Alice, confused

"She's a psychic!" Kiki points at Alice

"Well I figured that when a huge dragon is just flying around and crashing into things, the press or someone else would write about it and put it online as soon as possible." Alice states. "And I was right."

"Or I guess that would make sense too.." Kiki laughs

"Well at least now we know where she is." Mason states.

"How are we even supposed to revert her back to normal?" Thresh asks

"Dump water on her." Kanna states

"Wait what..? Really? That's it?" Thresh looks slightly confused

"I'm not buying it.. There's a catch." Kiki narrows her eyes at Kanna

"Well I mean you have to dump enough water on her... Enough so that her body extinguishes." Kanna states. "But that's about he only hard thing other than the fact that we have to find and catch her."

"Wait.. Enough to extinguish her...? You mean she's on fire?" I'm even more confused

"No. It's like fire demons, they might have a core that's over two thousand degrees but it's not like they're constantly on fire and incinerating everything they touch." Kanna states. "The 'fire' won't hurt or burn anything, it's just because of what type of dragon she is." 

"Ooooo what type of dragon is she?" Kiki giggles

"I'm sworn to secrecy." Kanna crosses her arms

"On her dragon type?" Alice raises an eyebrow

"Yes." Kanna states

"Oh.." Thresh's car comes to a slow stop

"Yep.. That's her alright..." Thresh states as he looks up and through the windshield of his car

I pause, then look out of my window and up towards the top of the beautifully painted building and up to the top. No one actually really know the name of who painted the entire twelve story  building, it was just some girl with purple hair who said she wanted to paint the whole thing without being payed and without getting any credit, and the owners allowed her to do it. Since the building was an art museum it made sense. 

When my eyes reached the top of the painted building, the dragon on top of the flat roof was definitely something that my eyes weren't used to seeing on top of that building

A large but slender dragon was perched on the roof.
Firo.
All of her scares were red with an orange tint and an orange flare at the end that made it look like her scales were on fire. and a medium sized flame floated above the tip of her tail. Her eyes looked the same as they did in her human form, and the large wings attached to her back were the same colors as her scales, and her wing web was gold.

"Well.. That's bad..." Kanna states

"Why? We found her.." I look over to her and blink in confusion

"Yes, but we're going to have to find a way up there.. And she might just fly away while we're trying to get up  to--!" Kanna is cut off by a bright blue flash. We all land sitting on the concrete roof of the mural building  as the blue flash fades. Mason is the only one actually standing

"Ooooohhh, he teleported us." Kiki smiles and looks around as she stands

Another blue flash echoes around us and Mason disappears with it

"Aaaaand he's gone." Alice stands

"Where are we going to get that much water..?" Kanna rubs her forehead

"Maybe Ice can blast her with ice!" Kiki smiles

"That would freeze her entire body so she was just an ice block.. And I don't want to be the target of the rampage of vengeance that would come from Mason if I did that..." Ice states

"Good point...." Kanna slowly stands up. "But maybe if you covered her in frost....?" 

"It wouldn't thaw..." Ice points out

"But it would extinguish her..." Kanna states

"Theoretically it would... We can't confirm that it would..." Thresh points out

"I guess there's only one way to find out..." Ice shrugs as he walks towards Firo, who was scratching the cement floor and looked completely confused.

"Careful not to startle her." Kanna quietly adds

"I'll try..." Ice carefully places a hand on Firo's tail and the tail immediately disappears. Ice raises both hands in surrender. "Nope! Can't blame me! I didn't even activate my powers! Can't blame me at all wasn't my fault!" 

Mason suddenly lands on both feet on the concrete floor with a soaking wet human-form Firo cradled in his arms.

Ice blinks in surprise and looks at Mason

"What?" Mason looks confused. 

"Umm... Never mind.." Ice shakes his head

"Is she alive?" Kiki looks over Mason's shoulder

"What? Of course she is!" Mason is immediately panicked by the possibility

Kanna walks over to them and half-aggressively slaps Firo

The motion is enough to wake her and Firo instantly sits up. The quickness of the action destabilizes Mason and he falls over, Firo landing directly on top of him. 

"Kanna!!" Firo sits up and glares at her as she breaks out in laughing

"What?" Kanna laughs 

"What do you mean 'what'?!" Firo glares at her

"Ummm.. Firo...?" I nervously speak up.

"What?" Firo shifts her glare to me

"You're sitting on your boyfriend." Alice states

"My what? I don't have a.." Firo blinks, then looks down and immediately scrambles to get off of Mason, a bit panicked. "Heh.. Whoops."

Mason is to busy mentally swearing vengeance on Kanna for slapping Firo to even notice, but he seemed genuinely happy that Firo was okay. Firo stood up and offered a hand to help Mason up, which he gratefully accepted. Mason teleported us all back to Thresh's car and Thresh started to drive back to Firo's apartment, where Nami and Dogost were waiting for us.

The drive was mostly silent besides Firo's unanswered confusion:

"So quick question... Why am I drenched in water?"

"Seriously can someone explain that to me...?"

"No one has even tried to acknowledge that yet and I'm very confused.."

"Guys really what happened while I was unconscious?"

"We were playing cards and my head hit the ceiling and I can't remember anything else."

. . .

"Did I at least win the card game?"

Yeah turns out she can't remember anything when she wakes up from that state. Which is probably part of the reason for all of Kanna's questions being deflected. 

So none of us answered any of Firo's questions
Well Mason did after Firo asked him, but still it was a while before she got the answers she was looking for. And even when she got answers, she was still very confused. 

Either way, we arrived outside of Firo's apartment and all decided to walk up to the room just to see how Dogost and Nami were doing. Or maybe study or do homework, we are technically still students after all. Even though it seems like we're never at school. Anyway:

We all walked inside the large main area of the surprisingly affordable apartment and immediately stopped walking. 
Nami was sitting on the couch, and Dogost was sitting on one of the breakfast bar chairs, happily drawing on a piece of paper. The one thing that was out of order however was the small silver haired Dream Maker girl that was sitting on the couch next to Nami 

"Hey! You're back!" Dogost happily barks. 

Sonya looks up to all of us and smiles a little

"I guess we have a guest..." Kanna blinks in slight surprise

"Yeah.... A guest with a mind demon body guard who swore to kill us if we ever got near her again....."

Aaaaaaaaaaand, ending it there!

I told you it was just a segaway chapter to lead into the third part of the Dream Maker chapters!!

Anyway-- I want to apologize again for this chapter being so late! 

Finals took up all of my time and I went on a mini vacation after school was over, but I'm back now and its Summer for me which means updates will (hopefully) be more frequent!!

ALSO:

This story has no real plot structure for now...

So I'm going to have to find a main antagonist and/or force of 'evil' that this book can rely on for it's main plot and purpose

OR

I can keep doing (what I want to do) all of these mini chapters and just have the book be like mini episodes that have zero correlation and instead focus on small individual issues for their short time frame

I have a little authors note for those who want to read, but if you don't want to waste your time then feel free to ignore this. I take no offense:

For those of you who have been asking why some characters aren't present anymore:
Scales, Skyler, Lilly, and Ice have not been discontinued, they're just more side characters now. Why? Cause I want the main focus to be on other people's characters, not my own. That's mainly because the last time I included characters in a book, I didn't include them nearly enough and they all became this mash of same-personality drones that I just threw dialog in for. (This is also because there were like 14 separate characters that people asked me to put into the story, and it became overwhelming very quickly and I couldn't keep up with all of their individual traits.)

Though I kinda discontinued Luna because the person I included that character for stopped reading this book a looong time ago. (Bonus points to whoever can tell me who that character was based on without looking all the way back to the Luna chapter! And if you figure out who it was: Yes, she stopped reading... It's very saddening to me  ;-; )

  But no, those characters aren't gone!  They're just side characters for now! Don't ask me why Firo and Evi are main characters despite them being my own. (The answer is cause I like their character styles and plus Firo and Mason are very cute together, and also shhhhhhhh it's okay for me to have two characters in the spotlight as well.. Plus Evi is more of a medium-character, she's not really going to be a main character after the Dream Maker segment is over. She's not a main character and she's not a side character... She's somewhere in the middle.. She'll definitely be reoccurring, same goes for Sonya(kinda).
Evi may be a villain or the main antagonist but that remains undecided.
 or maybe she could be a side antagonist (If you have an opinion comment? Or don't?)
