Chapter 1

The bus stop is one of those places that you think nothing important will happen here. It's just the place where I have to go to get from here to my destination. And it's like nothing else exists except you and where you need to go. Not the weather, or the birds in the trees, or the fact that maybe if you stood the person next to you could sit down.

And especially the people. When you sit at the bus stop, the people around you don't exist. It's like they're invisible. Even if they're going to the same place that you are, you wouldn't even know. Someone could be sitting next to you on the bench and you wouldn't even care, but it's not like they'd care either.

But what if you were to look up? What if you were to study and get to know the person next to you? What would happen?

--

The man sits on the bench like he always does every morning. He's got a coffee in his hand and he sips it. It doesn't matter that it's warm outside, he needs the caffeine to get him going in the morning and ready for work.

He sets the coffee between his knees so it doesn't spill, or fall over and begins his natural routine of texting away on his smart phone. His thumbs move fast and swift over the keyboard, due to much practice.

He wears a suit and tie, very professional. But the way his brown hair spikes up in the front says he's more fun then just a regular business man. And his green eyes are stunning, with his freckles that scatter over his cheeks makes him have a playful but smart ass look, and his smile is probably amazing.

As he gets a new text message his bus rolls up, number 53. He stands up, pockets his phone for until he gets on the bus, grabs his coffee in one hand and his briefcase in the other and leaves the bus stop to get on his bus. Not even noticing the other man that was sitting beside him, that sits beside him every morning.

The man sits on the bench like he always does every morning. He's got a book that he's reading intently, fiction of course. He loves fiction books and it's better than his life right now. Magical worlds of trolls and faries, romance novels where the guy always gets the girl, or the guy gets the guy, sometimes it's a horror book with adventure and suspense, but he loves mysteries the best and almost always has one in his hands.

He pushes his black framed glasses up on his nose that he needs for reading as he does so. He wears a button down shirt with a badly tied tie, and a tan trench coat that hangs loosely off of him. His black hair is messy, but it's soft and makes him have a younger more adorable look to him. His blue eyes are the bluest blue you'd ever see, and the slight stubble on his face let's you know that despite the way he looks and acts sometimes, he is older than twenty.

The man doesn't even notice when the other man next to him stands up and gets on his bus. Like he does every day. But when the next bus comes, number 82, he stands up, folding the corner of the page he's on and closing the book, before getting on his bus.
