Sirens.

He felt the sour air of the hallway on his face, as he tried to walk past the suffocative crowd.

"Beaten up, raped, and then stabbed. From the stomach."

"I see."

He balled his fists, finally spotting his locker. It was coming again, it was coming again...

"Any suspects?"

"Not yet."

"No..." he muttered to himself, clenching his eyes. "No..."

A young boy's screamings were still trapped inside his head:

"Nuna!"

He opened his locker, grabbed his book. It was not the right time to cry.

"Nuna!"

Smack!

"Hmpf-"

He stumbled backwards, trying to find balance. His fringe whipped his cheek as his backpack hopped on his back.

He looked up, he looked up to see an ugly smirk. Blue eyes, blue eyes twinkling with hunger.

He had to be two meters tall. The boy's head barely reached his chin.

"Emo scum!" he said, still grinning. He squinted his eyes, grabbing him by his shirt.

The young boy stopped. He stared. He stared directly into his eyes. Then he smiled.

He leaned forwards, with the calmest expression possible. Calmer than a lake in the morning.

"Fresh meat." the young boy said, watching his eyes stop twinkling as his smirk started to fade away, confusion invading his wide face.

The young boy kept smiling. Without missing a beat, he kicked his crotch as hard as he could. The guy bent forwards like a broken twig, holding his injured area as the whole hallway started to laugh at him.

The young boy smiled even wider, still keeping his calm expression. With a dynamic movement, he turned around, walking towards his class with pride.

Idiots... he thought. Too slow, too slow...

"Nice one Seung!" A guy yelled across the hallway.

"Can you do that to my ex?" A girl asked as he passed. As he passed the corridors, blowing like the wind. Sirocco.

"SEUNG!"

He stopped. Still keeping his calm expression, he leaned backwards, turning his head towards the owner of the tiny but strong voice.

"Hey, Sam." He said. She kept staring at him, not saying anything. Her eyes were speaking. They were lava.

"...What?" he asked, after staring at each other for a while. He turned his body towards her, his hands in his pockets.

"You know it pretty well!" She screamed into his ears, leaning towards him. She was almost two heads shorter than him, yet her power was still above his.

"Ooh, well. Oops." He said. Sam grabbed him by his shirt, pulling him towards herself.

"YOU PROMISED ME YOU IDIOT!"

A few students looked at them. Most of them had gotten used to it.

She let him go, pointing her finger towards him. "No. Violence. No matter what!"

Seung sighed. He knew what was coming next. He barely listened to her as she kept yelling at him about how risky it was. Yes, yes, he got it... He could have been seen by a teacher. So what? It was not his fault that the guy was dumber than a rock.

She was still yelling at him; her crazy, short hair jumping on her head as she angrily poked his chest.

He grinned.

Without a warning, he leaned forwards and gave a kiss on her cheek.

She stepped back, wiping her cheek. "Stop doing that in public!"

He shrugged. "Why should I?" He ruffled her wild, brown hair. "You look cute." Sam frowned.

"Besides, is expressing my love towards my best friend by using physical contact a crime now?"

Her expression suddenly softened. Her eyes sparkled, a smile appearing on her round and freckled face.

"B-Best... Friend?" she shrieked. Then in less than a second, her expression became harsh again.

"But still, people think differently!" she said, angrily placing her hands on her hips.

Seung smiled and lifted her chin up with his finger. "Let them." he said, softly.

"They also told you that you didn't deserve to live. Was that true?" he looked into her eyes, yet she lowered her head.

He smiled again. "It was the biggest lie."

He could see her lower lip tremble as he said that. He shrugged. "I guess you got my point."

She closed her eyes, trying to hold back an army of tears. "S-Seung..."

"Yeah?" he replied, trying to look into her wet eyes. She didn't say anything for a while, kept looking at the ground. Then suddenly- she hugged him tightly.

He smiled warmly. He hugged her back, leaving a gentle kiss on her head as his best friend kept crying with the flashbacks of the past.

"I waited... Until the sun rose again..." She whispered. Seung hugged her tighter.

"Yes... Yes you did. The night has ended. It's time for the morning now."
