- Choi Yunseo's POV -

"SOOMI!" Jungkook cried, running over to her. I backed away, tears still pouring down my face, until I ran into someone who held onto my shoulders. Gently, but firmly at the same time.

I watched as Jungkook knelt beside his burning sister until she turned to ash. I couldn't believe it. I won't believe it. I'm dreaming, this isn't real.

I won't believe it.

"Get her out of here!" I heard someone yell, and I felt strong arms wrap tightly round my waist.
"Close your eyes." I heard Taehyung whisper into my ear. I closed my eyes, hoping that if wake up from this nightmare.

"Jin! Follow her!" I heard another voice yell, but the voices were becoming distant. We were moving, I could feel the wind blowing in my face. I daren't open my eyes. What if this isn't a dream? What if this Taehyung guy is gonna kill me?

"You can open your eyes now." I was so caught up in my thoughts that I forgot we'd stopped moving. I opened my eyes to see Taehyung staring at me, smiling slightly. I felt that strange feeling in my eyes again, but brushed it off.

"Are you okay?" Taehyung asked, and I nodded, causing him to smile and place his hands on my shoulders. I looked around and noticed we were outside my house.

"H-how do you know where I live?" I asked.
"It was just a hunch. I guess you could say.... I followed the scent." He replied. God, what a weird guy. Scent?

"Did you know that your eyes glow gold?" He asked out of the blue, and I have him a weird look.
"What? Do they?" I asked, putting my hands up to my face.
"Yeah, weird huh." He laughed.

"D-don't tell anyone, please." I begged, and he looked into my eyes again.
"I wasn't planning on it." He sighed. "You'd be safer if this was kept a secret."

"Kim Taehyung." We both turned to face the owner of the strangely familiar voice.
"Jin?" I asked. "You followed?"
"Hand her over Taehyung." He threatened.

"No." Taehyung replied. "I can't let you have her."
"Does she know about us?" Jin asked, and Taehyung shook his head."Wait. Do I know what?" I interrupted their conversation. "What's going on!?" I looked over at Jin, and he began to step closer.

"Back off." Taehyung growled. Literally; it sounded like he was hiding a dog in his pocket.
"Woah, chill. I'm just going to compel her." Jin held up his hands defensively. "It'd be better that way." Taehyung sighed, but then nodded in agreement.
"Yunseo, look at me." I faced Jin, who held my face in his hands and stared deeply into my eyes. I felt entranced, unable to move.

"Go inside your home. Forget everything that happened today. Soomi told you she was moving away and never coming back, and you got upset, so you were sent home."
"Okay." I replied bluntly, walking through the garden into my home.

- Kim Taehyung's POV -

I watched helplessly as Jin compelled Yunseo into forgetting everything that happened today. As soon as he's finished I'd realised how much of a disadvantage I was at.

She knows Jin, not me.

I saw that Yunseo's mother grew both vervain and wolfsbane in her garden, which means that her mother knows her stuff about Werewolves and Vampires.

"So," Jin turned to face me.
"Don't you dare do any-" He interrupted me.
"Her mother won't invite me in." Jin sighed.
"What?" I tilted my head to the side in confusion.

"Her mother knows what I am." He told me. "She knows that I care for Yunseo, that I would never hurt her, but she wont let me in the house."
"You'll never hurt her?" I mocked. "You're a vampire, that's what you do!"

"And what are you gonna do with the Ace once you've caught her?" He retorted. "Killing her would be the easiest way to stop us getting her blood. Wouldn't it?" I stayed silent. He's right, it is.
"But-" I stopped myself.
"See where I'm coming from?" Jin replied.

I scowled, looking away.
"Her eyes glow gold when she looks at you." Jin blurted out.
"Well done." I retorted.
"No, I don't mean when she looks at Werewolves, I mean when she looks at you." Jin repeated.
"Huh?" I tilted my head to the side.
"That means that she trusts you." He told me.
"But I've never met her before." I replied. "How can she trust me if we've never spoken?"

"There is something inside her soul, the part we call the Ace, and that's what trusts you. That Ace has been observing everyone and everything whilst Yunseo has been living a perfectly normal life." Jin explained to me.

"So, this Ace trusts you?" I asked.
"No, because it knows what I am." He replied, putting his hands in his pockets.
"So why does it trust me?" I asked.
"Because it knows you won't hurt her." And with that, he disappeared.

I won't hurt her? The easiest thing to do would be to dispose of her, so why wouldn't I?

- Choi Yunseo's POV -

"Hey sweetie." My mum smiled. "You're back from school early, what happened?"
"Oh, uhh, Soomi- she's l-leaving." I stuttered. "The teachers sent me home because I got too upset."
"Soomi's leaving?" My mother asked, a pitying look on her face. I nodded, and she gave me a hug.

"I saw you outside with Jin before, who was the other guy?" My mother asked.
"Oh him! His name is...." I paused. "His name is...."
"Is?" My mother pursued.
"I- I can't remember." I sighed. "I'm sorry eomma, I'll tell you when I can remember."

I looked at my mother, and a light frown appeared on her face.
"Yunseo, I want you to have this." She took a bracelet off her wrist and gave it to me. "I want you to wear it all the time."
"It's so pretty eomma! Thank you." I smiled, putting it on my wrist.

It was a silver chain bracelet with two charms on either side. One charm was a lilac coloured sun and the other was an orangey-yellow coloured moon. Hold on, it... smells nice?
"Can you smell it?" My mother asked, and I nodded. "There are special herbs hidden inside that bracelet that are meant to ward off evil."

"What are the herbs called?" I asked.
"Inside the lilac sun is a herb called vervain, and in the orange moon is a herb called wolfsbane." She explained.
"Don't we grow them in the garden?" I asked, and she nodded.

"I need to go to the shop to buy some groceries," My mother told me. "Don't let anybody in the house, even if it's Soomi coming to say goodbye, okay?"
"Yes eomma." I sighed.

Thinking about it, Soomi's never actually been to my house before.
