Chapter 12
Too busy playing with the ball of yarn he had just gotten not too long ago, Tiberius practically jumped out of his skin when he heard Gidget's voice. Quickly kicking the yarn away and straightening up, he stammered, "Gidget, I... uh... what... I wasn't doing... why... uh... what are you doing up here?" Snickering at her best friend's reaction, Gidget replied teasingly, "I can visit you, can't I? You seem to be enjoying yourself."
"THAT'S... that's none of your business," Tiberius grumbled, his usual serious look coming over his face. Raising an eyebrow, Gidget murmured, "So you were enjoying yourself?"
"None of your business!"
"Alright," Gidget spoke smoothly, padding away from Tiberius and towards the ball of yarn. The Pomeranian sat down and picked it up, examining it. Meanwhile, the old red tailed hawk was trying to find something else to look at. Her right ear flicking, Gidget smiled thoughtfully as she remarked, "Were you playing with this earlier?" Whipping his head and glaring at her, the hawk grumbled, "I was not! Never in my entire life would I play with a-"
Gidget tossed the ball of yarn to her left.
The pupils in his light brown eyes narrowing, Tiberius raced after the ball of yarn like he had been doing earlier. Gidget laughed quietly as she watched her friend pounce on the toy, rolling around with it while a purr rumbled in his throat. Her fluffy tail wagged happily and her head turned left and right as she watched the old hawk. After awhile, he laid down panting, exhausted. Looking up at Gidget as she padded over to him, he muttered, "If you tell ANYONE what you just saw, I'm gonna-"
"Disembowel me and feed my remains to the mangy crows? Come on, that's not even threatening anymore," Gidget finished Tiberius's sentence. Giggling when she saw the exasperated expression he wore on his face, the Pomeranian helped the old hawk to his feet, "There's a meeting at my apartment. We better get going."
"Why your apartment?"
"Cuz Max was fed up with them always being held in his apartment. We also can't use the windows."
"Why?"
"They're locked. We just need to use the elevator to go to my apartment."
"I wish I could say that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard but I've heard dumber."
"Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?"
"Take it as both."
"...alright then..."
