Chapter 2
Dallon quickly woke Brendon up who shot up with a jolt. They climbed out the tent and was startled by another person leaning against a tree looking at them.
"Salutations." He greeted with peace signs.
"W-what?" Dallon asked, Brendon nudged him behind.
"Who are you?" Brendon asked, already getting ready to fight.
"Josh, Josh Dun." He offered a smile, but Brendon only shook his head.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"Well I was riding through. But your boyfriend over here startled me so I came to see what it was." He shrugged, and started to walk back to where he came from.
"W-wait!" Dallon shouted after him, to where Brendon hushed him.
"I'll be back." Josh told them and walked back. He came back a few minutes later with a horse in one hand, and a bow in the other.
"Were aren't dating." They both mumbled.
(A/N Ezri was a G)
"Y-you have a horse?" Dallon asked.
"Rio. Is his name, yes." He stated and dropped the reigns, knowing he wasn't going anywhere. He went to walk over but Brendon pushed Dallon even father back. Josh put his hands up in surrender and backed away. "Look, you might not like me. But face it, we are gonna need each other."
Brendon sighed and nodded, letting Josh come closer. He took a few steps before saying "You two go cuddle up, I'll watch over."
"How do I know you won't kill us?" Brendon asked, Josh gave him the 'really' look and Brandon climbed in the tent, Dallon following short after.
"I can probably get them to the city, I don't think it's too far." Josh mumbled looking around. "But the open field isn't always the best." He got up to stretch his legs and ride Rio a bit. He hopped on his horse but paused to look around before moving around in a circle.
"I'll take watch." Dallon said suddenly making Josh jump. He relaxed but them laughed.
"As if." Josh smiled.
"I can!"
"Shh! And Brendon already doesn't like or trust me. If I let you take guard he'd hate me even more." Josh shrugged and patted Rio's neck. Dallon scowled and sat by the tree watching Josh as he moved with ease holding the horse. A twig snapped and Josh was on alert, bow drawn. Groans soon followed, but they were coming from all around them. Josh shot the first one in sight and continued to do so as Dallon woke up Brendon.
"Josh, you were supposed to keep watch." Brendon grumbled as he crawled out. Josh frowned and shot a zombie that was coming up behind the two.
"Sorry..." He whispered, more focused on killing the walkers than Brendon. It was a small group so they were gone pretty fast. Josh went and collected his arrows then proceeded to walk away. "Pack up. Gotta keep moving."
They scrambled to clean everything and follow Josh out of the forest.
