Chapter 12
"Sire, I'm afraid the plan wasn't successful." The dark enchantress reported back.
Upon hearing those words come from the dark enchantress's mouth, King Diabolos contiguously restrained himself from strangling his accomplice by the throat, clenching his jaw tightly. "What happened now? I thought I specifically told you not to mess this up, Lilith!" He threw the goblet of blood he was drinking across the throne room, watching as it shattered into pieces on the cold hard granite floor. Yet the dark enchantress remained stoic, not shocked nor intimidated by the king's rage.
"Sire, calm down." The dark enchantress sweetly thwarted, admiring her long, needle-like nails. "At first, the plan was going smoothly if you'd ask me, but of course that pesky phoenix bitch joined the festivities, spoiling it all." She said with a scowl.
King Diabolos pounded his fist on the armrest roughly. "You should have made certain those paltry 'Elemental Weavers' were nowhere near her then perhaps the plan would have been successful." He accusingly said.
The dark enchantress gave a coinciding grin, bowing to King Diabolos. "Yes, sire, I'll make sure of it. I swear by my heart." She said, effortlessly concealing her bared teeth.
King Diabolos gave a menacing smirk towards the dark enchantress, tapping his fingers against the armrest of his throne, causing echos to travel across every crevice of the room.
"Since I'm feeling generous..." He got up from his throne, flouncing up and grappling her by the face, "I will give you two more chances for you to prove your worth to me. But mark my words, if you either fail those two merciful chances or you refuse to bring my daughter to me..." His mouth grazed her neck, "Then a trial will take place in front of every friend, every enemy of yours, and every citizen of Evonin. Then, they will decide whether to execute you or not." He sunk his teeth into her neck, the blood trickling down her shoulder. "Do you understand?" He whispered in her ear, wiping off the blood which soaked his lips indifferently.
The dark enchantress debated on ripping his throat out. She could've easily done so with the countless number of people she'd assassinated. But instead, she bowed, "Yes, sire."
Satisfied, King Diabolos's lips curled up into a cold sneer, "Good, I knew you would."
