Chapter 17🌻
Lola's POV
“Uhhh! My chest” I complained in a muffled voice as I slapped my palm against my chest furiously.
I was probably really hungry and that's why my heart is beating so irregularly.
“Are you okay?” I heard him ask from behind me as I immediately turned around to see Derin and my sister staring at me like I had grown two heads.
“I'm fine..... Dara, go in and change, I need to speak to Mr....... here.” I told Dara as she frowned at me in confusion while Derinsola looked at me strangely.
“Wow! Are you that mad at him? I thought you had gotten back together outside?” She asked as I dismissed her words.
“Go inside, Dara, now.” I told her raising my voice a bit before I paused to register what had come out from her mouth in my brain.
“Wait, what?” I asked her as Derinsola's shot me an apologetic look from behind my sister.
Did he lie to her about us?
“Bye. I have test soon, so I'll leave y'all to your drama” She told us as she walked in, ignoring my look of confusion.
As soon as I heard the door to her room shut close, I snapped my head towards Derinsola while my brain tried to determine whether I should take a step towards him or just stay back here.
I chose the latter.
“What did she mean by made up?” I asked him as he sighed before looking back at me.
“I told her we were dating. I didn't mean to, I just did” He spoke as I frowned at his words.
What?
Why would he do that?
“We are not dating, we are not even fake dating anymore, so why did you tell her that? I don't want my family to be part of this facade. Please, leave them out of it” I told him honestly as I let out a frustrated sigh at the end.
Today has been rough.
“And please don't come to my house again. Infact, why did you come here?” I asked as I walked towards the couch and plopped on it.
I shut my eyes close, trying to relax for a few seconds.
I was too exhausted to argue or cause a scene, so I will just let him speak.
I was curious too, anyways.
“I need you to come to dinner with me” He told me as I immediately opened my eyes and shot my head towards his direction.
Uhn?
“What are you saying, Derin?” I asked him as he sighed before moving over to where I sat and lowered himself unto the couch, a few inches from me.
I looked at him suspiciously as my eyes trailed after him.
“Things got out of hand and I really need you at that dinner as my girlfriend” He spoke as I paused in my actions looking at him in disbelief.
What the hell?
I don't care about how things got out of hand.
Did he really think I would ever agree to that, again?
Especially after everything that had happened in the past?
I let out a small laughter in disbelief as I looked at him.
He had some gut o.
“I promise to pay you for your time. Just name your price” He spoke as I immediately stopped my laughter.
Pay me?
Name my price?
I see he still had that perception of me.
That I was a whore who would do anything for money.
That was why he sent his friend to me that day.
I immediately stood up, feeling anger engulf me once again.
“I don't need your money anymore.”I told him sternly as I stepped back, looking at him with distaste.
He stood up as he sighed before stepping towards me.
“I know, you are mad about what happened, but this is important.”He told me as I let out a snicker.
How important was it?
“Important? I'm sure this is about Deborah once again.”I told him as he stared at me blankly.
“She's married. Accept that fact and live your life, without bothering me” I told him exactly how I felt as he bit his lip while looking back at me, probably thinking of what to say.
For some reason, my eyes couldn't tear away from the sight of him biting against his lips as he thought.
Snap out of it, Lola.
Men are idiots.
Especially this man.
I removed my gaze from his lips as I turned heading straight for the door.
“I'm saying 'Noʼ, to this deal. So you can find someone else, if you are so desperate.”I told him as I swung open the door.
It's not like I didn't really need money anymore.
But I couldn't continue with this act.
I had better things to do.
“And don't come here again” I told him with a sigh as I held the door open for him.
He walked towards me and stood right in front of me.
“I know, you are saying 'Noʼ right now, but do thinking about it. I'll give you whatever you want.” He told me as I looked at him in irritation.
Money again?
“I said I don't need your...” I started off as he cut me off.
“I didn't say money” He told me before walking out of my house, confidently with his hand in his pocket.
What?!
What else could I possibly need from him?

“You idiot! This is a God-sent opportunity, Lola” I heard Kosi speak as she clasped unto my hands excitedly.
“What are you talking about? You know I don't want to have anything to do with that man” I told her as she rolled her eyes at my words.
“I know, but you have to put up with it to get what you want, Lola” She told me as I felt my head pound in confusion.
What do I want?
Right now, the only thing I want is for Derinsola to keep his rich ass out of my life.
“Be straight with me, Kosi. What are you saying?” I asked her in confusion as cleared her throat before speaking.
“He can get you what you have been looking for” She spoke as I paused and thought long and hard about her words.
Nope, still blank.
“A lawyer, Lola. He'll can get you one of the best lawyers in the country.” She spoke as my eyes widened in realization.
She was absolutely right.

Derinsola's POV
“Indian?” I asked him as he nodded in affirmation.
Wow! I did not know that.
“Her full name is Omolola Srisha Williams.”Kola spoke as I nodded taking all this information in.
Well, that explains a lot.
I wonder why she never mentioned she was half- Indian.
“Okay, give me something else. Something I might need” I asked as he looked at me with a shrug.
“That's it.” He told me as I sighed.
I needed something I could use to make her agree to this.
Kola looked back at the laptop as his eyes continued scanning the screen furiously.
Well, I'll just have to come up with something to cancel the dinner and tell my mother we broke up.
“Wait, I got something....” Kola trailed off as he gasped before looking back at me.
“What?” I asked him curiously.
“You need to see this” He told me as I scrambled out of my seat towards him and fixed my gaze on his laptop.

Lola's POV
“I saw him at the gate again. Can't you like meet somewhere else?” I heard Dara call out as she walked into the living room and headed straight to her room.
He is here?
“He is here?” Kosi asked as she paused the movie she watched in the living room while I continued washing the dishes anyways.
Now, all I had to do was rinse them.
“Hey there” I heard him greet Kosi as she greeted him back curtly.
“Who is this?” I heard a familiar voice as the door shut close.
I immediately rinsed my hands at the sound of his voice.
“Does Lola know a strange man is in her living room?” I heard again as I immediately rushed towards the living room to peek at who it was.
Ohh, let it be him.
“Oh my Goshhh!” I screamed as I saw the familiar face of Kachi who smiled at me standing right beside Derin in my living room.
I rushed towards him and engulfed him in a big hug as he patted my head slowly.
“I've missed you too little girl” I heard him say as I immediately pulled away, poking the side of his head playfully.
I'm not little, idiot.
I looked towards Kosi whose eyes were still fixated on the TV as if she wasn't aware of his presence.
“Ohhh! Someone is still angry at me” Kachi asked me as I laughed, looking back at Kosi whose lips was breaking open into a small smile.
Kachi walked towards her as he slowly bent down in front of her and gave her a wide smile as she tried as hard as possible not to blush.
Kosi loves drama. Especially when it comes to Kachi.
“I'm sorry, I didn't come sooner” He told her as he wrapped his arms around her and took his lips to hers.
Haeeeew!
She immediately responded to the kiss as I felt myself grow nauseous.
“Jeeeez! Way to ruin the moment” I muttered as I turned away from them, walking back towards the kitchen.
As I walked towards the kitchen, I paused as I noticed Derinsola standing there, feeling equally weirded out as his eyes slowly trailed towards me.
Then looked at my face, but not directly at my eyes, a bit lower.
“What are you looking at?” I asked him as he shot me a smirk as if he knew what was happening in my head.
I looked away from him, focusing straight on my destination.
“They'll be like that for a while, so I suggest you follow me” I asked him as he walked towards the kitchen behind me.

Derinsola's POV
I frowned when Lola sprinted out the kitchen and engulfed the guy who called me a strange man, into a hug.
First, she didn't even acknowledge my presence.
Also, who the hell was this guy and who was he to her?
Their hug lingered as he playfully patted her hair, while calling her a little girl.
She suddenly pulled away, poking the side of his head with that wide smile that she never had on.
Before I could conclude the fact that he was the reason she couldn't agree to this deal, he dramatically walked over to her friend and muttered something to her before capturing her lips with his.
Wowww!!
That was definitely unexpected.
Lola cringed with that smile still on her face before she turned around heading back to the kitchen.
My eyes accessed that smile she had as she suddenly paused in front of me and turned her head towards me.
And then, she did something totally unexpected.
She looked down towards my lips for a split second before looking back at my eyes and frowning immediately.
This action of hers totally amused me as I tried to imagine what was going in that little head of hers.
“What are you looking at?” She asked in a derogatory manner before she turned and kept walking away.
What am I looking at?!
The real question is...
What are you looking at?
As she walked away, I noticed how she was dressed.
She was wearing a usual big t-shirt and a pair of three quarter jeans with her hair plaited in corn rows.
“They would be like that for a while, so I suggest you follow me” She spoke as I followed her into her kitchen with a sly smirk in my face.
She turned towards me suddenly and rested on the kitchen platform as she stared at me deeply.
“I thought about it, your offer” She spoke as I waited for her next words.
“Let's do it.”
