Chapter 7🌻

Derinsola's POV

“Do you like me or what?!” She asked me as I rolled my eyes for the umpteenth time.

She was an egotistical girl.

Self-obsessed and thinks every fucking thing revolves around her.

“Just fucking get in” I ordered as she winked before slowly getting into the backseat of the car with me.

She had called me a million times, telling me she wasn't going to come into the bar because her pastor had warned her to abstain from them.

She was quite the character.

“So what's up?!” She asked as she pulled out a stick of cigarette from its pack, and just fiddled with it.

I had noticed this the first time too and when she left her purse with me, I found it strange that she carried around a cigarette without a lighter.

Who fucking does that?!

“You need help with that?!” I asked pointing to the cigarette in her hands.

Her face looked taken aback by my question as she furrowed her brows in confusion.

“With what?!” She asked brushing her hands against her hair, suddenly not looking as collected as she was before.

What an idiot!!

She didn't actually smoke.

“I could light that up for you, I have a lighter” I lied.

“I didn't ask for your help” She snapped as I shrugged, already confirming my suspicion.

“Okay, whatever” I dismissed the topic as I stretched my arm rapidly, as the watch on my wrist became visible, and I proceeded to examine the time.

“Well, I'm gonna make this brief” I told her as she looked at me with that bored expression written on her face.

I hated every facial expression she made.

She had this talent of making someone feel stupid and uninteresting.

“You are going to be my fake girlfriend for just one day. Just one day!! No more. And I am not paying you a single cent. I will just forget you stole my 5 million” I told her forcing the last sentence out of my throat.

I still resented her for stealing from me and I still think this plan is bizarre but I'm still going ahead with it.

I couldn't afford to humiliate myself at Debbie's wedding and this nasty little bitch had agreed so, I don't see what could go wrong.

“What?! I thought you agreed to pay me extra?!” She asked as I looked at her with a glare.

Greedy little thing.

“No. Not a cent. If you are not interested, then we can go talk at the police station” I told her as she frowned at my words.

For someone so audacious to steal five million, she sure was scared of the law.

“Fine. But how do I trust you won't report right after?!” She asked me giving me a suspicious look.

Uhhhh!!

“I won't. Why would I throw someone I went out with behind bars?!” I told her as she shook her head at me.

Yeah, it wasn't a valid point but I wasn't the type to go back on my words.

“I won't. Besides, do you want to take your chances with the cops or trust me?!” I asked her as she rolled her eyes.

“Whatever. When exactly is your darling 'Debbie'sʼ wedding?!” She asked as I tried to recollect when exactly I told her that the name of the woman who I loved but was getting married was Debbie.

I suddenly recollected our first meeting and how I had continuously called her 'Debbieʼ.

“Saturday.”I told her as she widened her eyes in shock.

I should have probably told her this earlier.

“It's freaking two days away. Wowww!!” She  commented as I nodded plainly.

“You know...” She started as I almost groaned at the sound of her voice again.

She was quite a talkative.

“...we are probably attending one of those high classed fancy weddings, right?!” She asked as I stared blankly at her waiting for her to get to her point.

Well, obviously..

“I can't dress like my normal self to one of those o. As you know, I'm from the trenches, so you gotta take me shopping, bro” She told me suddenly addressing me as if we were more than two people making a deal.

She dresses just fine to me, the day she walked into the bar with her arms linked around a random man.

“Look, Sandra. This is not the chance for you to live your dream on someone else's budget. Just dress nicely” I told her sternly as she smirked mischievously nodding her head.

She was definitely thinking if ways to show up to the wedding, dressing like a homeless person.

“Okay. I guess you are right. I'll just wear my normal Aso oke and my suede sandals.”She told me with a shrug as I sighed in frustration.

As much as I hated to sponsor her shopping spree, she mustn't make a fool out of me on that day.

“Fine. Driver, take us to the usual mall, please.”I asked the guy who had been idly sitting in front, enjoying the drama going on at the back seat.

He nodded before starting the engine.

“Oppoor!! That's why I like you. Sharp sharp guy. No wasting time. Like me. I hate wasting time....” She rambled as she shot me a wink as I sighed before looking back out the window.

Opooor?!

Did she also know yoruba?

Why does this feel like a very bad idea?!

“Psst, driver. Turn on the radio. Please.”I heard her whisper poking her head towards the front seat.

My driver ignored her as she continued poking his arm repeatedly.

She was gonna get us into a freaking accident.

“Just turn it on” I ordered, gazing back out the window, pretending not to be paying attention.

She withdrew back to her seat with a wide smile on her face and her head doing this small jolly dance.

She acted like a child.

Vi-Vida loca (bullet), high as a kite, never sober (shotta)
Python, hit him with a Cobra
Free up my bro, Casanova (free him up)
Badman persona, badman alone can't control her ('trol her)
Sorry, sorry, your sis got bent over
Push in my hood, take anaconda

The trap song came blasting through the radio as she shook her body to every beat.

“Have you seen the shape of her body?! Madt!.....” She started singing along.

“Eef... Ah.. Babghskkd” She started misquoting all the lyrics as I felt my ears start bleeding.

Ohhhh, sweet Jesus!

Save me.

I didn't comment or react. I only found myself sighing in irritation at every lyrics she quoted.

The next few days were going to be dramatic.

Suddenly, the thought of how Deborah crushed my heart into a million pieces crossed my mind once again and I realised this violent and childish ill-mannered girl has actually been my only means of distraction away from Deborah.

The frustration I felt when I was with her overlapped the heartbreak that Deborah put me through.

I don't know if it was a good thing but I was grateful at her stupid and annoying attitude.

At least it did some good, to my mental health.

“Ewwww!” I heard as I shot my head up and my gaze off my phone, looking towards where the voice had come from.

She was done?!

I found a dress that I thought looked nice and I asked her to try it on but after much pouting, she did.

And I guess she doesn't like how it looks on her.

She walked out and my eyes instantly widened at the sight in front of me.

She scrunched her face up, shuffling dramatically as her whole action screamed distaste.

She looked simple, but still extremely drop dead gorgeous in this dress.

“It's soo...” She started as the lady who had shown her to the dressing room opened her mouth up in awe.

“..pretty”The random lady completed as I felt the instant urge to give her a bone crushing hug.

Right?!!

What was wrong with this Sandra kid?!

“No, plain. Its so plain” She said repetitively, looking towards me, as if she expected me to agree with her.

“You can go change back” I told her as she looked at me in confusion at my words.

I wasn't done.

“Please pack it up for us and let's look for a matching shoe” I continued, directing my words to the mall lady as she nodded.

“What?!” Sandra yelled as I shrugged looking back towards my phone.

I just ignored whatever tantrum she was going to throw next but surprisingly, she walked back into the dressing room and arrived some minutes later back in her black men's tee with the words 'Shut upʼ inscripted on it and her jean.

“Tell me I get another dress that I actually like?!” She asked me as I stood up straightening out my shirt and slipping my phone into the back pocket of my jeans.

“You don't” I replied as she huffed out a sigh, folding her arms and we both headed towards the counter.

“Derinnnnnn!!!” I heard a loud squeal as I couldn't help but feel like this was definitely a bad thing than a good thing.

I knew that annoying and irritating girlish voice.

What the hell was she doing here?!

And as I turned to look towards her, I immediately realised Sandra was standing right beside me.

Shit!!

Shit!!

What do I do now?!

Lola's POV

“Derinnnn!” We both heard as I looked towards this greedy rich guy who looked like he was having a mental argument.

Was the lady who was calling him and heading towards us with close to 50shopping bags strapped around her arm, Debbie?!

But why does she sound and look familiar?!

I could have sworn I had seen that bouncy figure before.

And when she stood right in front of us, I realised I had.

Shit!!

Darn freaking it!!

“Derin, I'm glad you are here. I just finished shopping and I was about to pay, before I realised my brother blocked my card!!” She whined, stomping her feet on the floor like a kid.

She paused as she slowly looked towards me before her eyes widened in shock.

“Oh my Goshhhh!!” She yelled dropping her bags and squealing in excitement as I couldn't help but smile, even though I knew my cover has been blown.

I did miss her.

But I really wish we didn't have to meet here.

“If it isn't Omolola freaking Williams.” She started as I widened my eyes and clenched my jaw nervously as I took a step back, avoiding eye contact with Derin.

Well, damn it.

“I have fucking missed you” She continued as I stiffly smiled ignoring Derinsola's shocked and confused expression.

“What?!” He asked with anger laced in his voice.

“Yeah, she's my friend from university. She's the girl that threatened to pluck out the class rep's balls” She explained as she bursted out laughing as I shuffled back in obvious discomfort.

I remember that! The class rep's reaction was hilarious but that is not the point right now.

“So, how have you been, and how do you know Derin?!” She asked me as smiled with a close lip.

Derinsola's look could kill me right now and I could help but feel like I should run for my dear life.

“Can you excuse us for a minute, Tunmi?!” He asked her as she frowned at his words.

He grabbed my wrist and I almost felt my blood stop flowing at the tightness of his grasp.

Owwwww!! That really hurts.

“Is she your...” Tumise started talking again as she gasped admit her words but Derin ignored her pulling me away with his hands tightly holding my right wrist.

Okay!! This was way too tight.

My hands felt like they were going to chop off.

“Ehrmmm.... You are hurting me” I stuttered wincing at the pain.

His hold was so tight, I felt so taken aback and scared.

Did he really want to hurt me because I lied?!

He pulled me out the mall as he increased his pace and tightened his grip on my hand and I felt my heart race in panic.

“Let fucking go of me!” I yelled as he still didn't listen to me.

Suddenly an idea popped into my head as I reached into my jean pocket and pulled out a pocket knife.

“Let me go” I screamed pointing the knife at his face as he stared at me with his eyes widened in horror as he immediately let go of my hand and stood still, with disbelief flashing through his eyes.

Author's note

Ughhh! Violence again!!

This Lola girl is a handful but we can count on Derin to curb her viciousness and stuff...

Anyways, I have been off Wattpad for a while. I wanted to just go back to my normal Kdrama, reading books and life in general but here I am waltzing back.

Thank you for reading the chapter, I guess.

And your numerous comments(wink😉), I'm saying this in a future tense sorta speech 😂😂

Well, bye.
