Bleeding warriors

A word; Allah-u-Akbar
A colour duad; white and green
Resolve and valour accompanying sabr.

Faces grimed with carmine and dirt
Parched lips; trembling, unuttered words trapped within
Ragged clothes and unbeating hearts.

The flickering flames of fire soaring high
The deafening shots like ear-splitting cracks of thunder
The blood soaked land under a sobbing sky.

The sweat, the tears, the holocast
All for a vow with it all began;
'To protect my land and my people till death do us apart'.

The parents, the offsprings, the sweethearts
Praying, holding onto a frail thread of hope
Despite days of silence, their beleifs refuse to depart.

Somehow, someway, when rivulets of tears dry up and limbs give way
They swallow the bitter reality and manage to smile
For the deceased wiped off the foes who were astray before their souls drifted away.

As more undaunting men leap into the fray
To provide you a peaceful day
Where does your succour lay?

Key:

Allah-u-Akbar: (Arabic) Allah is the Greatest

Sabr: (Arabic) Patience

A/N:

This poem is inspired by a movie I watched a few hours earlier. Hence, my country and religion's (Islam and Pakistan) reference in the opening stanza.

However, I don't wish to speak on either my religion or my country considering they're touchy topics. I respect all humans no matter what their religion or country may be. All I want to do with my inferior words is to pay a tribute to the soldiers (and their families) of every country who cast away the luxuries of this life and eventually bleed to death in order to let us survive.

Let's all be grateful and do anything, literally anything to help. If you weren't born a soldier, you might be a painter, a writer, a photographer, a doctor or just a human. Believe me, there are numerous ways to provide aid.

P.s by my army, I do not mean the terrorists. They have no religion.

My gratitiude if you took your time to read this far. Till next time, Sayonara!
