ending notes;
Look who just realised she completed this book, twice at that? Me, of course.
So, congratulations because you, my reader, have just finished an 80k book written by yours truly. For those who stuck around—words cannot convey my gratitude towards you. Seriously, it cannot.
I know there might be a lot of questions in your mind which I would like to address here in:
THE STRUCTURE: As you know, the structure is nonlinear, a series of flashbacks and events from the present told mainly through the eyes of Hima Pradeep. Yes, she was not the sole narrator of the story—there were Soumik and Faizal in the middle as well, showing their past through their eyes.
THE ARCS: There were, in total, three arcs—
HIYBBPRQAG: the build-up, the setting. The arc where I introduce you to the characters, the place, everything, in order.
ECCEDENTESTIAST: the past that shaped them(Soumik and Faizal's story, along with glimpses of Hima)
EPHEMERAL: the place where cracks begin to form (the actual story)
You might've noticed a series of poems at the beginning of the chapters as well as after the dividing parts. Yes. You noticed it right. It was from Soumik. I could have made it more dramatic, shown you glimpses of the diary he treasured openly through the narrative, but here's the thing—their lives are solely based on restrictions. Yes, you heard it right, and you might as well know, this is the case with most kids from South India, including mine. Anyways, I won't dwell on that; instead, I will admit it, yes, those are glimpses into Soumik's true self; his grief, his scars and everything else. Hima and Soumik knew each other for like half a year. How well do you expect them to know each other at the core? If it were Faizal and Soumik, then it would have worked, but Hima—Hima is just a stranger.
What exactly is going on: Time travelling, but it's a part of Hima's soul that travelled back in time. Thus, the gap in her memories, from living two lives literally in the past and the future simultaneously.
If so, what happens to Hima at the end: She lives the two lives like that forever but the gaps grow prominent with time until only one of them remains stuck in one world. Yes, its a sort of alternate universe.
Moral(?): There is none. I just follow the propaganda of living life to the fullest without any regret tying me down. Consider it me imposing the same on you lol.
Now time for some random facts about this book.
|●| Today was not supposed to have a happy ending.
Yes you read it right.
The initial ending I had planned for TODAY was a sad one. The story is the same until the last chapter but unlike now, Soumik and Hima does not have a happy reunion. The main concept of this book was to convey the message that some incidents are inevitable.
Why did I change it? Well, you see, the answer is simple.
I am a total softie (and a perfectionist)
|●| The plot was completely different.
Yes. The plot I created for this book, while it was still a draft, was different. Way too different actually. Soumik was Jiwoo and Hima was Yeona. Call it the Korean influence lol.
|●| Soumik's personality is based on a movie character.
Apart from these, here is some additional information about the characters.

Thank you for your support. Every comment, every vote and every single read in this book will remain precious to me. Remember, everyone, including you, the one who is reading this, your existence matters. Your words matter. You matter.
So seek help if you think you need one; there is no need to feel ashamed. If you feel like you have no one to talk to, remember, all you need is a pen and a book. Write it. Let that pen be your voice.
No one will judge you. No one will cut you off. No one will make you feel like you don't matter. So do it. Because every single one of us deserves to be heard, put one way or another. No one deserves to suffer; criminals are an exception, of course.
That's all. See you again if I ever get a chance to write another book...
With lots of love,
