Chapter one: Ghost
I never wanted, or truthfully, expected things to turn out this way. I knew I was hurt, and I knew that my family was dead. I knew Beckett had been waiting for me, begging me to wake up. I knew the tears he had shed. I could see everything, it was almost as if I was a ghost or something. But, before we get to any of that, let me tell you about myself. My name is Evie Roberts, and I'm pretty much you're average 17 year old emo highschooler. Exept for the fact that I am extremely good at the violin. It is my only passion, exept for Beckett. Ahhhh, Beckett. He is my amazing, dreamy, wonderful 18 year old boyfriend. We both LOVE Nirvana, Smashing pumpkins, Mudhoney, and basically every other punk/ alternative band ever. Beckett is in a band called "Psych", and they are actually starting to get pretty big. Not like the band my dad used to play guitar for, a band called " The east end establishment" ( a band that played punk, and was popular in town.) No, Beckett's band was going worldwide. He would skip school a lot to go and travel. Yeah, I missed him, but I knew he would always come back. Well, anyway, this part of my life really starts on a chilly winter morning. So chilly, in fact, that it was snowing. Yes, that Wednesday just had to be a snow day. My mom and my dad both decided to take a day off from work. My mom, Chelsea, was an engineer. She was a genius, and loved punk, just like me. My dad, well, he was the more scholarly type. He was a college teacher at the town university, so, yeah. And, I definantly can't forget the best person of all, my 6 month old baby brother, Tristan. So, We were making breakfast, and my mom had the perfect idea of visiting my aunt Bee. After breakfast, we all hopped in to my dad's car ( which i secretly called the geek mobile) and began driving. We were on highway i85, and it happened so fast. There was a flash from the speeding Fedex trucks headlights, and boom. Just like that, there was a head on collision, and our tiny blue volvo station wagon was obliterated. I blacked out. I woke up about five minutes later, screaming. I then noticed a trail of bright, red, blood. I followed it, only to find my father and mother. My parents were obviously dead. My dad had a giant hole in his chest, blood seeping out and his ribs exposed. My mom, well, lets just say that my mom's brains were scattered out all along the pavement. After seeing that, I dropped to my knees and started screaming and sobbing. Then I remembered. Tristan. " Tristan!" I screamed. " Tristan!" Then I saw it. The tiny blue fuzzy sock that connected to his onsie. I ran over to him. His retinas were completely red, not a spot of white on them. blood was seeping out from under his head, and his eyes were staring off in to nothing. He was gone. "Nooooo!" I howled. " Why is this happening to me!" Then I heard them. Sirens. Someone was coming to help. I saw the ambulence pull up. People, lots and lots of people, began piling out of that tiny vehichle. They went over to check my parents and brother, until somebody just yelled " We were too late! Their all DOA!" I knew that word. DOA. It meant dead at arrival. Then, to my surprise, someone yelled " I found a survivor!" I was shocked. Could it have been the driver from the Fedex truck? If that goddamned bastared was still alive, I would make sure he wasn't much longer. I saw the people from the ambulence carrying a stretcher. Only, the person on it wasn't the driver. It was me.
