KIISHA

I was still glancing through the books I borrowed from the library when I banged smack into someone and the books scattered to the ground and an unrestrained anger welled up inside me.

"I knew it, you know I've always told you to see an ophthalmologist but you never took to my advice 'cos of your peanut brain, you bird headed fool!," I snapped before bending to pick the books, Kenneth bent down too and I straightened up.

"If your filthy hands should touch these books, I assure you that hand will burn. I can't blame you, when you find it hard to read and assimilate, why won't you keep following me around," I rolled my eyes before continuing," I just don't understand, is it that stupidity is your talent or you just decided to make it your goal?"

"Kiisha, you were the one that bumped into me so I don't understand why you are saying all this," he said with voice thick with conviction.

I shrugged and scoffed a laugh while clapping dramatically before my face contorted.

"You knew I was coming or did you use your leg to cover your face? So why didn't you just go through another way? I've told you several times that I don't like you, in fact I hate your being so. Abi, why do you keep looking for my attention? Are you suffering from Attention Deficiency Syndrome or what? You better go and see a psychologist," I ended it with a hiss.

His face closed up before he uttered coldly, "Kiisha, I'm sorry if you're angry because you bumped into me but I'm not at fault here, so you don't have to start hurling abusive words at me."

I covered my mouth with my hand before forming a tepid smile, " Oh! So that's it, you're such a bozo, useless thing," I picked up the books, eyed him, hissed and pushed him out of my way but his hand grabbed mine.

"Take your filthy hands off me! You klutz!," I shouted and all eyes snapped to our side.

He gritted his teeth before letting go.

"Why did you now look like you've caught a cold, sha don't faint there," I punctuated it with a loud hiss before walking away as I sashayed to the club room.

Our Biology teacher had ordered me to get some books from the library before I bumped into that annoying being.

"Why did you come late?" she asked as soon as I got into the clubroom.

"Something happened," I told her before dropping the books on the table as I went back to my seat.

Idiat attempted to ask me what happened but our teacher talked before she could.

"Now, we'll be looking at mitosis and meiosis," she started as we all wrote down the topic. Ever since we've resumed, during the extra class, our teachers had decided to go through all our topics again even though we've finished them and had even completed our past questions.

An hour later, the class ended and she walked out of the class.

Idiat turned to me and I knew what she wanted to ask so I decided to talk before she questioned.

"I met with Kenneth on my way back and he provoked me," I explained in a bored tone.

"Hmmm," she nodded before Yimika waved at her, she took a glance at me before walking to him.

"Hey, riff," Jared said as he plopped into the seat beside me which was Idiat's seat.

"Hi jaguar, and please when will you stop calling me that stupid name?" I questioned as I turned to look at him.

He smiled and my heart skipped a beat before I pouted.

"Hmm, when will I stop calling you riff?" he placed his forefinger on his chin while rolling his eyes as if he was thinking of something, then he continued, "When you become my girlfriend," he said with a smile

I turned away and eyed him.

"It can never happen"

He took my hand and I couldn't help but feel the tingling sensations, I turned to him and he looked intently at me but I looked away that instance.

"Come on now, do you think I'm joking about this?"

"Well, I'm not joking too," I told him blankly and he turned my face to him.

"Aanuoluwakiisha, you have to believe me, I'm dead serious about you...," he couldn't complete the sentence as Demolu shouted his name.

He glared at Demolu and I withdrew my hand from his grip, picked up my notes and stood up. Demolu and Joshua walked up to him this time and I couldn't be more grateful.

In a split second, they all walked out of the club room but not without Jared winking at me. I heaved a sigh of relief when he was out of sight and sat down as my mind travelled back to what he had been saying earlier. Is he really serious about this thing? Different thoughts tumbled in my brain for some minutes before Idiat's voice brought me out of my reverie.

I smiled at her before looking around, we were the only one left in the club room, I picked up my notes and she did the same before we both went back to our hostel.

The school was somehow bubbly due to the practical being carried out by the SPECIAL and PECULIAR class. They were having Home management practical alongside Catering and Crafts practical so everyone were looking forward to their food.

Kiiti and I walked into the Home Economics lab, it wasn't hard for us to see Kiishi who was carrying out her practical in a corner, it was during break so we were allowed into the lab.

"Hey," Kiishi greeted upon sighting us with a lit up face.

"This one that the aroma alone is making one to salivate, when will I have my share?" Kiiti questioned as she picked up a pancake from the tray.

"Ouch," she shouted before dropping it back into the tray, Kiishi and I laughed at this, turns out the pancake was still hot.

"That's why it's not good to pick something quickly," Kiishi mocked and Kiiti eyed her before going back to the pancakes, she blew air into one for some seconds before she threw it into her mouth.

"Hmmm, yummy," Kiiti complimented while rolling her eyes in a funny way. Kiishi and I laughed at this.

"Don't touch it again," Kiishi warned as she hit Kiiti's hand with a spoon when Kiiti wanted to pick another one.

Kiiti grumbled at this before eyeing her and I chuckled.

"When will the food be done oo?" I questioned while taking in the aroma coming from the soup, it was a vegetable soup.

"Soon," she replied before offering us a watermelon drink and few pancakes.

She was preparing Pounded yam and eforiro, the appetizer being watermelon drink and the dessert being Pancakes. One thing about Kiishi was that she was a good cook. That girl can cook like mad unlike Kiiti and I, at least I could prepare some food now but Kiiti cannot warm water without burning it.

"This is so nice," I commented while chewing the pancake.

"Gimme more nau," Kiiti whined as she stood up to touch the pancake but Kiishi brought out the pestle to scare her and Kiiti hissed at this. She'd finished the one she'd been given earlier in a twinkle of an eye and wanted more.

"So, you want to finish everything before my teacher awards me mark abi?" Kiishi questioned and Kiiti rolled her eyes.

"So, you cannot give me small, stingy girl, just one, you cannot give," Kiiti mocked while pointing her forefinger at Kiishi who threatened to cut it off with a knife and she pouted.

I laughed hard at this, their bickering was always interesting to watch.

"When should we come back for the food? You know we can't take it to the hostel and me I'm already famished oo, I can eat you if you don't answer me," Kiiti shouted while rubbing her hand on her flat tummy.

"As if you didn't just have lunch, anyway, I'll bring it during the last period, it's your free period right?"

"Personal Study period," I corrected and Kiiti hissed.

"Don't mind the stupid girl, free period and Personal Study period, what's the difference? Please, help me bring the food then if you don't want me to strangle you, you know it's my best food so I can kill because of it oo," Kiiti said while pulling her ear as a warning.

Kiishi and I laughed at her drama before the bell was jingled to signal the end of our break.

Kiiti and I stood up at this.

"Don't forget oo, last period," Kiiti warned before stealing another pancake and Kiishi eyed her.

"I've heard you, go before you finish everything"

"Okay oo, let the pancake and watermelon drink be included oo," Kiiti shouted while I dragged her out.

We got back to our class minutes later and our computer teacher walked in. We all greeted him before he started the day's work.

Last period came quickly and Kiiti's eyes was already fixed at the entrance waiting for Kiishi's appearance, I chuckled at this. Our Personal Study period was actually our free period because no one studied, we all engaged in different things, even when I told Jared we should study during that period, he declined.

"Hungry beast," I mocked and she eyed me.

"Thank you," she replied and Kiishi walked in with the food accompanied by Dumininu. Noise erupted from our class upon her entrance and Chike quickly ran up to her.

"For me right?" he asked with a smile and Kiishi returned the smile while Kiiti galloped across Europe to meet her.

"The food is not for you, if you have any friend in PECULIAR or SPECIAL, go and collect from them," Kiiti said while eyeing him.

Chike laughed at this before going to Dumininu who only gave him pancakes.

They dropped the food on Kiiti table and Kiiti grinned at this.

"Thanks baby," she said with a wide smile that revealed her beautiful set of teeth.

Dumininu and Kiishi smiled at this before going to Jared and his friends, they gave them pancakes and the drink but Quadri insisted he wanted the food so they had no other choice but for him to go with them.

"You won't eat your own abi, if you don't want it, give me oo," Kiiti shouted as she chewed on the meat. This girl is something else, she doesn't care at all, sometimes, I really find it hard to believe she was the governor's daughter.

Kiiti grabbed my food when she realized I didn't touch it but I hit her hand with my pen and she dropped the food before touching her pounded yam.

"This one that you didn't take your eyes off Jared sha don't choke on your chin chin," Kiiti teased and I eyed her.

It was a Friday evening and we were at the cafeteria having chin chin and Coke, though we already had lunch earlier but we just decided to come out of the hostel to have some junks. Then we'd seen Jared talking with Rihanna, Quadri and Ify were also there talking too.

Ever since then I hadn't taken my eyes off them. I was curious to know what they were talking about seeing the way Rihanna was flirting with him.

"Better shut up," I said and Kiiti chortled.

"And now you'll say you don't like him whereas you can't seem to have enough of him," Kiishi added and I eyed her before grabbing my coke and heading out of the cafeteria.

I could hear their giggles and call behind me but I ignored them, I took a glance at Jared's table, Rihanna was still flirting with him and he looked relax, I hissed and walked out.

I decided to go back to the hostel, while going I bumped into Uche who didn't apologize but rather dragged me forcefully into the Royal Hall amidst my shouts. The Hall was silent with no soul there other than Kenneth.

"What's the meaning of all this?" I screamed but they shared a knowing look before laughing.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked exasperatedly but Uche moved closer to me in an intimidating manner, he snatched the coke from me and before I could blink, he poured the coke on my body.

I stepped away and gasped as my fury sprang to life.

"Are you mad?" I shouted before moving closer to him in an attempt to slap him but he grabbed my hand and yanked me away, that act made me land on my butt.

They both moved closer to me in an intimidating way and I glared at them.

"What are you trying to do?" I yelled. Kenneth crouched and touched my cheek with his forefinger.

"Don't touch me!," I snorted but he pushed my head aggressively.

"There's nobody here so if you shout your lungs out, no one would save you," Kenneth snorted and fear overtook the anger .

"What do you want?" I asked as calmly as I could while trying to cover my fear.

"You," they both said in unison and I flinched. The fear vibrating in my body. When did they become friends?

"What do you want from me," I stuttered and they both chuckled.

I tried getting on my feet but Kenneth's strong hand pressed me to the ground and Uche joined him. I was now in the middle of them and they were giving me a hateful look, I tried hiding my fear but it was visible enough.

The next thing I heard was the rip of my hostel wear. What! What just happened? I looked down at my body and realized Uche had torn my clothes, my underwear was now visible.

"You have a nice bra on," Kenneth said while licking his lips. Oh! God let it not be what I'm thinking.

"You're stupid," I shouted and spat on him but a hand which I later knew was Uche collided with my face. It stung like hell. Did this maniac put a blade in his hand?

Palm to cheek, I glared at him and they both tittered.

"You'll surely regret this," I shouted and Kenneth pulled my hair in anger.

"Aaahh," I screamed with my eyes closed while I tried enduring the pain.

"You think you can just disgrace us and go scott free, no, you should also feel what we felt," Uche shouted and Kenneth yanked my hair away.

I growled at this before glaring at them. Uche moved closer and caressed my cheeks but I slapped his hand away and his hand landed on my cheeks again. I just hope my cheek won't rip off today. I prayed internally for someone to come to my aid.

I touched my cheek in pain.

"Now, lie down," Kenneth shouted. Wait, what did I just hear? This can't be happening, I shook my head severally but when I felt his hand caressing my thigh, I screamed my lungs out while squeezing my eyes shut.

I didn't feel his hand on me again but the only thing I heard was grunt, I opened my eyes slowly and saw Kenneth on the floor with Jared on top of him punching his life out of him. Quadri was with Uche who managed to escape.

"Stop!," I shouted when I finally found my voice seeing Kenneth was almost unconscious. Jared obliged and the tears I'd been keeping rolled down my cheeks. He got away from Kenneth who quickly scrambled to his feet and ran out of the hall.

I felt Jared's warm embrace on my body and I couldn't help but cry the more. Why did this happen to me? I kept on sobbing while he patted me as the tears increased.

"That's enough," I heard him say but the tears slid down. He rubbed circles on my back till I heard Kiishi and Kiiti's noise.

"What happened?" Kiiti shouted, turns out Quadri had gone to call them.

I couldn't utter a word as they crouched to look at me. They both cursed loudly before they noticed my torn cloth.

Kiiti scrambled to her feet and ran out only to come back with another hostel wear. I quickly got myself into the dress before they all helped me to the hostel. Throughout the walk, I didn't utter a word even though Kiiti and Kiishi were asking Jared and Quadri what happened.

On getting to the hostel, I went to my bed quickly while they patted me till I was asleep.

The next day, the news was already all over the school and I found it hard to walk without people giving me the bad look. Aminat giggled throughout the class and I almost slapped her if not for the entrance of our class teacher who called Jared, Quadri, Kenneth and I.

We were taken to the principal's office where we met Uche, turns out Jared and Joshua had reported what happened to our class teacher, after much interrogation, we were taken to the disciplinarian committee who later suspended Uche and Kenneth.
