Dreams

I often have dreams of falling. Falling where? I don't know. It's black all around..except around her; she has light coming off her like a star. She's falling with me though, a see-through spirit of my sister. She looks like she's drenched in water, but she looks peaceful and calm.

Music that's sad, heart-torn, and lonely flows all around us. It settles into our minds, making everything else blank and she starts disappearing and I scream out for her. She says something that I can't quite hear, with a smile on her face. The fall comes to an end and I see a man playing the music on a piano, in a room that is small and old fashioned.

He has the same eyes as her but that's all I can see. His blue eyes filled with tears as the music goes into a crescendo. The walls start to fall into nothingness, the grandfather clock goes around and around so fast. He starts playing faster and faster, till his fingers are bloody and--
I wake up with a name I don't remember ever knowing on the tip of my tongue disappearing.

After my twin sisters death nothing felt the same. The cord that only us shared was snapped the instant after she drowned at a party 4 years ago. I could stay positive and think that maybe our souls combined that day, but that would make me feel worse.

Thinking that my soul molded together with hers meant I would be an entirely different person. Right? Mom left when we were six and never came back, not even for Kimberley's funeral. I am now 20 years old and still feel the devastation and showing it would look childish to others.

Back then I kept it together for my dad and I still am. When will I ever have enough money to leave him? If only I could leave, but my rent to stay with dad is so high that saving alot of money is impossible and leaving costs too much money.. Especially since I'm in college. I am studying to be a surgeon, as is my best friend Jasper .

He's an outgoing nerd with a muscular body and baby face. Let's not forget Norman, my friend that majors in music. He's a prankster that, despite his tough looking face, acts like he's a girl most of the time.I get along with guys easily

When I was little, I was a tomboy and Kimberley was the girly girl. I never understood fashion or make up or Barbie's. Playing with miniature mannequins didn't seem to interest me.

I liked playing football and getting belts in karate class and riding my bike. There is one things we both loved, though, and that was music. My main instrument was the violin and hers was the piano.

We both knew how to play the guitar, violin, the piano, cello, and flute. We were a musical family; my dad even played the drums. The good old days were so much fun.

"Earth to I'm-gonna-sleep-and-forget-about-having-fun," said Jasper humorously, while poking me in the face.

"Stop, let me sleeeep!" I groaned, looking at the clock. "It's only 8:10."

"To you it is only 8:10, but to me it's time being wasted on our vacation from college," he said as he ripped off my covers. "Now get out of bed."

You know, when under the covers it's warm and comfortable. Outside of the covers it feels like it's so cold that even hell could freeze over. The icy air somehow creeps through the air vents, freezing the floor and all the metal in the house and .... the toilet seat.

...There is nothing worse in this world than sitting on a cold toilet seat.
